"Buffy the Vampire Slayer" looks set to rise from the grave, with Sarah Michelle Gellar reportedly set to return as her iconic character. This is great news for everyone who grew up watching the original series in the late '90s and early 2000s, but the revival probably won't arrive for a while yet, and that means having to wait impatiently. Still, what if we told you that there's an awesome show that's similar to "Buffy" and flew under the radar at the time of its release? That show exists and it's called "Reaper," and it deserves to be exhumed so it can finally gain the appreciation it deserves.
Created by Michele Fazekas and Tara Butters -- who Marvel fans will know for their work on "Agent Carter -- The CW's "Reaper" began life as a spec script for an episode of "Buffy the Vampire Slayer." However, after being inspired...

Josh Gad's new memoir offers some intriguing insight into his career. Along with the highs, the actor shares some of the lower moments, which includes the 2011 comedy Mardi Gras: Spring Break.
In an excerpt from his book, In Gad We Trust, via Entertainment Weekly, the actor explained that he took the role as part of his two-picture deal with Sony and describes it as "the single worst movie I have made - and will hopefully ever make - in my life." Fortunately it wasn't all bad. "I had the time of my life shooting in New Orleans with folks like the magnificent Regina Hall and our ferociously funny writer (and now lifelong friend) Josh Heald," he continued.

That ’70s Show remains one of the most beloved sitcoms, bringing the nostalgia of the 1970s to audiences through the eyes of a group of teenage friends in fictional Point Place, Wisconsin. That ‘70s Show boasted of a stellar cast, in addition to Topher Grace as well.
It proved to be the first big sitcom role for one Ashton Kutcher, who starred alongside his former wife Mila Kunis. While Kutcher played the role of Michael Kelso, Kunis portrayed Jackie Burkhart.
Running from 1998 to 2006, the show’s charm came from the authentic dynamics of its characters, which also includes the protagonist Eric Forman, played by Topher Grace.
However, Grace’s exit after Season 7 left fans with questions about why he left and how his departure impacted the show. This article explores the reasons behind Grace’s decision, the repercussions for the series, and his eventual return in the spin-off, “That ’90s Show.

While That ‘70s Show had its fair share of silly storylines, the sitcom’s low point came with the utterly pointless, bizarrely dark tale of Charlie Richardson. Like most sitcoms that last for more than a few seasons, That ‘70s Show took some time to find its feet, enjoyed relative critical acclaim for a few years, and then fell into decline a while before the show ended its 7-season run. For a frame of reference, the viewership of That ‘70s Show seasons 4-6 averaged around 10 million per episode whereas, by That ‘70s Show season 8, this number had dropped to just over 5 million.
While the success of the Netflix spinoff That ‘90s Show proves That ‘70s Show is still enduringly popular among television viewers, the final seasons of the original show weren’t as well-liked as its best outings. This was due in part to the departure of Topher Grace and Ashton Kutcher,...

San Francisco, Aug 20 (Ians) The US Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (Fdic) has issued cease-and-desist letters to five crypto companies, including leading cryptocurrency exchange Ftx, over “false and misleading statements”.
Apart from Ftx, Cryptonews.com, Cryptosec.info, SmartAsset.com, and FDICCrypto.com also received cease and desist letters on Friday, with the agency giving them 15 days to remove the “false and misleading statements” from their websites and social media accounts.
The Fdic also mentioned a now-deleted tweet that Ftx CEO Brett Harrison sent on July 20, that read “direct deposits from employers to Ftx US are stored in individually Fdic-insured bank accounts in the users’ names”.
Responding to the letter, Harrison said on Twitter on Friday that “we really didn’t mean to mislead anyone.”
“We didn’t suggest that Ftx US itself, or that crypto/non-fiat assets, benefit from Fdic insurance”, he claimed.
“Per the Fdic’s instructions, I deleted the tweet.

No one says “teamwork makes the dream work” in “Hero Mode,” but that maxim’s corny sentiment nonetheless aptly applies to A.J. Tesler’s video game-themed teen comedy, which follows a formula that dates back to at least the era of the Super Nintendo and Sega Genesis. A lively saga about a young coding wizard who’s charged with saving his family’s gaming business, this celebration of old- and new-school creativity doesn’t break novel ground in any respect. Fortunately, though, when it debuts in theaters on June 4 and on VOD on June 11.

[Editor’s note: Light spoilers for the premiere episode of “Kevin (Probably) Saves the World” follow.]
The new shows that make up the bulk of the fall broadcast TV season fall into pretty obvious categories: military drama (“The Brave”), medical drama (“The Good Doctor”), family comedy/annual expansion of the Chuck Lorre empire (“Young Sheldon”).
And then there’s “Kevin (Probably) Saves the World,” the ABC drama airing Tuesday nights, which doesn’t fit neatly into any box in particular. The official synopsis, per ABC:
Kevin Finn (Jason Ritter) is not a good person. He’s not terrible, but he’s selfish, and clueless, and values material wealth and status over all else. And he’s beginning to realize that those things aren’t making him happy – in fact, he’s fairly miserable. Just when things seem to be at their worst, he finds himself tasked with an unbelievable mission… saving the world…

American comedy Reaper was the slacker Supernatural. With great writing, great jokes and Ray Wise, what more could you want?
At the time of writing, the American television networks’ ‘fall’ season of 2015 is a month or so around the corner. It’s still a month until Doctor Who comes back, and worryingly close to that time of the year when The X-Factor is gobbling up Saturday nights around the UK. Essentially, we reckon you could be looking for a new show to binge-watch right about now.

Tonight marks the end of The Astronaut Wives Club TV show on ABC -- at least for now. The network has yet to officially cancel or renew the series for a second season. How's the show done in the ratings? Should it come back or did tonight's finale properly end the series?
Based on the book by Lily Koppel, The Astronaut Wives Club focuses on seven women who were key players behind some of the biggest events in American history. As America's astronauts were launched on death-defying missions, the lives of their young wives were transformed -- seemingly overnight -- from military spouses to American royalty. The cast includes Yvonne Strahovski, Dominique McElligott, Odette Annable, Joanna García, Erin Cummings, Azure Parsons, Zoe Boyle, Bret Harrison, Aaron McCusker, Wilson Bethel, Kenneth Mitchell, and Desmond Harrington.

The last time ABC tried a retro series revolving around a group of ladies -- Pam Am -- it was a ratings disappointment and was cancelled after one season. Will The Astronaut Wives Club be a different story or the same old tune? Cancelled or renewed for a second season? Stay tuned.

Too little too late, but ABC has finally found the perfect companion piece for "Pan Am." A bright-and-glossy dose of '60s nostalgia mixed with easily digestible proto-feminism, ABC's "Astronaut Wives Club" premieres on Thursday (June 18) night, more than three years after "Pan Am" was cancelled and I suspect they're likely to be remembered in the same way: Period dramas with high production values, a fantastic cast that ABC will look back at yearningly and unrealized creative potential obscuring otherwise solid storytelling. Is there a hypothetical TV series about the wives of the Mercury astronauts that's more than a slightly superficial, slightly choppy and slightly misfocused showcase for fine performances and some snazzy retro-style? Absolutely, but there's still some virtue to this sort of watchable, somewhat nourishing summer entertainment, even in a landscape that's overflowing with summer viewing options. Thursday's exposition-heavy premiere episode begins in 1961 with Louise Shepard (Dominique McElligott...

What makes a great summer series? Something flashy, breezy, easy to Dv-r and binge at a later date, perhaps. Beach reading, but on your TV. In fact, it really deserves a separate scale. The epitome of a great summer show may be Fox’s The O.C., which ran in the mid-aughts, and came (in part) from Stephanie Savage. Savage also has developed ABC’s new drama The Astronaut Wives Club, and with it, another well-suited summer show (though one that's still looking to ignite). The series, based on a book by Lily Koppel, details the home lives of the Mercury 7, a true-to-life group of men (including John Glenn, played here by Sam Reid) who were chosen by Nasa for their fledgling space program in the early 1960s. The families were also heavily managed for appearances, with deals made with press outlets like Life magazine to convince the American public that...

Jessica Simpson has a lot to celebrate! The blonde beauty shared a ton of new photos via Instagram on Thursday, from her five year anniversary celebration with hubby Eric Johnson. In one photo, the mother-of-two is pictured with the former footballer while the pair is out to dinner. "The sexiest day of my life was 5yrs ago when Johnson came into my home #MAY21," Simpson captioned the candid snap. In a second photo, Jess and Eric pose with their two pals, Bret Harrison and Lauren Harrison. "Fortunate for these two @laurenz422 and @bretharrison for the unexpected intro #MAY21 #Johnson," the 34-year-old posted with the pic. The fashion mogul was a bridesmaid at Lauren and Bret's 2012 nuptials -- Harrison was also Jessica's assistant at the time. Jess and Eric said "I do" last July, and the cute couple already has two adorable kiddies together, Maxwell, 3 and Ace, 22-months. "Back home to...

Jessica Simpson is in love, and she doesn't care who knows it. The singer celebrated an anniversary with her husband, Eric Johnson, on Thursday by posting a sexy photo on Instagram. And while it's just the latest in her usual steamy social media snaps, it was what she said that really caught our attention. In the black-and-white photo, captioned, "The sexiest day of my life was 5yrs ago when Johnson came into my home #MAY21," Jessica cozies up to her man in a restaurant booth. It's unclear exactly what significance May 21 has to the couple, but Jessica's caption implies a number of things. Is it a metaphor for the first time they met? Did Eric just walk up to her house and go inside? Was it the first time they kissed? Was it their first date? There are so many unanswered questions! While we may never know what Jessica meant,...

In this decade it’s extremely difficult to find a sitcom that is as perfect as That ‘70s Show was. This show was, and still is, one of the best coming of age/high school set sitcoms (after Freaks and Geeks of course). It’s probably not the first finale that comes to mind when thinking about greatest television finales; but for me it’s way up there.
With good vibes, brilliant writing, and excellent characters that actually evolve That ‘70s Show is, to me, the ideal sitcom. What starts off as a comedy centered on the ‘70s, with a boy with mistaken ideals and a lack of confidence, soon turns into a series of memories, with six characters who weren’t adults...
