On February 9, 2010, Phil Harris died at the age of 53 years old. His final days were documented on Deadliest Catch, which he starred on from Seasons 2 to 6 before his death. With Deadliest Catch set to return to Discovery next month, scroll down for a refresher on what happened to the captain of the F/V Cornelia Marie. What happened to Phil Harris? Harris began the 2010 fishing season with “four crushed disks” in his back, according to his son, Josh Harris. On January 29, 2010, a crew member found Harris on the floor of his room. “The whole left side of his face was in paralysis, and that was hard,” Josh recalled to People. “He couldn’t move his arms or anything, he was just paralyzed on the floor.” Harris was medevaced to an Anchorage, Alaska, hospital and placed into a medically induced coma for two days. During the 1970s, Disney animated films went through a bit of an unfortunate slump. With lower budgets and significantly rougher animation, films like "The Aristocats" and "Robin Hood" just didn't have the same power to impress audiences as the innovative and high-end attempts of the previous few decades. Though "The Aristocats" was a box office success and critics were fairly kind to it,it has mostly become a footnote in Disney animation history.
"The Aristocats" follows the adventures of a fancy housecat named Duchess (Eva Gabor) and her kittens Marie (Liz English), Toulouse (Gary Dubin), and Berlioz (Dean Clark) after they are catnapped by the jealous butler of their owner, Madame Adelaide, and end up lost under a bridge in Paris, where they befriend alley cat J. It’s not too uncommon for vessels to change captains on Deadliest Catch. However, recently, fans have been wondering what happened to one captain in particular. On social media, some fans had been asking about Captain Murray Gamrath, known for working with Phil Harris aboard the F/V Cornelia Marie.

Few names are more iconic than John Wayne, whose legendary status was solidified through countless acclaimed box-office successes. Disney's TaleSpin was an iconic part of many people's childhoods because it allowed fans to perceive their favorite The Jungle Book characters in a completely new light. The show also introduced a new selection of anthropomorphic characters, including Kit Cloudkicker and Rebecca Cunningham. Overall, the show was considered to be action-packed and teeming with adventurous plots.
But with a total of 65 episodes, it's not surprising that a handful of episodes are viewed as a tad controversial these days. Both "Flying Dupes" and "Last Horizons" were pulled from syndication for their offensive themes and can not be found on streaming services. But while the reasons are surprising on their own, it's wild to think that a show like TaleSpin could have banned episodes to begin with.

Deadliest Catch is one of the most beloved Discovery Channel properties thanks to its extreme conditions and high-stakes drama. Just out of its 20th season, one infamous fishing vessel has been missing from the show: the Cornelia Marie. As one of the most prominent crabbing ships on the series since its debut in 2005, the Cornelia Marie's greatest tragedy occurred when Captain Phil Harris passed away due to a massive stroke. His sons, Jake Harris and Josh Harris took on the responsibilities of the vessel before Josh purchased the boat with the help of Captain Casey McManus. While it did disappear for some time during Season 13, it had since returned. That is, until a series of unfortunate events.

Disney movies are synonymous with warmth, comfort, love, and heartfelt lessons to be learned by all. Geared towards a younger audience, these movies have come to be adored by older generations, too, especially those who grew up with some of these titles. However, there is a clear inclination toward certain titles that have become iconic in a way, like The Lion King or Toy Story. Fortunately, those who want to go beyond the usual movies have a lot to choose from.
There are plenty of Disney movies that have flown under the radar due to lower ratings or even because they just had a release date that didn't let the movie shine. Both live-action and animations, these titles had wonderful visual styles, compelling plot lines, and amazing characters that deserve a second watch and due appreciation. These underrated Disney movies are the hidden gems of the animation studio's oeuvre.

Disney films have delighted families for generations. Children and adults alike love the characters and stories that Disney portrays. Films like Snow White, The Little Mermaid and Toy Story have become some of the best and most beloved Disney movies. With the release of Inside Out 2, Disney proved again that they can release films that can cater to both kids and adults alike. And while people of any age are drawn to most Disney films, some are more enjoyable for older kids and adults.
These films are typically a little more serious than the typical fairy tales Disney is known for. They often feature older characters and darker storylines. Some of the best Disney films for older children and adults are also live-action to give the stories more realism. Much of the humor in these films is more sarcastic as well.

The Deadliest Catch boats are as big a symbol of the Discovery Channel reality series as the oversized Alaskan king crab and snow crab they hunt for in the blistering Bering Sea. While there are some parts of Deadliest Catch that are faked in the way Discovery reality series often are, those are real boats out on the freezing and tumultuous North Atlantic Ocean, weighing upwards of 370 tons. The sight of one of these behemoth and industrial, but somehow nostalgic, ships blasting through ocean spray as gulls soar overhead is a defining shot of the series.

John Goodman is a recurring actor for the 2000s era of Disney and Pixar movies, with some titles emerging as smash hits and others as mediocre installments. Goodmans recognizable voice is perfect for big and friendly characters, namely several of Disneys best animated fathers or paternal figures. The characterization provided by Goodman at least improved if it did not entirely transform the movie into something worthwhile.
After making his Disney debut in The Emperors New Groove, Goodman got the attention of Pixar, then still in its era of an uninterrupted streak of hits with a history of casting well-known actors. However, Goodman has not entirely escaped being in unnecessary Disney sequels or spinoffs, predictably resulting in lackluster installments. Goodmans Disney career of main characters and cameos, some of the best Pixar movies and the worst, illustrates how he became someone Disney loves to work with.

Millennials might be the first to remember The Disney Afternoon, a two-hour block of Disney cartoons that aired on weekdays from 1990-1997. The block ran in four half-hour segments which alternated between multiple animated series. Surprisingly, the line-up was not slated for The Disney Channel only and aired in many markets across the United States. Some of the headlining shows featured characters that Disney fans would have already been familiar with from the studio's catalog of films and shorts, while others presented all-new characters and concepts.

Deadliest Catch fans complain that Discovery Channel started scripting the show too much, and now, they are trying to pinpoint when that started happening. Actually, many viewers claim they are done with the show as some scenes are so badly acted they become unbelievable.
Deadliest Catch Become Too Fake?
Not all viewers believe that the scenes of the crabbers in the Bering Sea are fake. For a few of them, the added drama gives something extra to the show. However, they are few and far between on social media. Plenty of others hate what they think is way too much scripting.
Deadliest Catch – Discovery Channel
Many things can’t be scripted at sea, and there have been deaths and injuries on Deadliest Catch. Bad weather, for instance, can’t be scripted. And, neither can the pots of crabs that the crew haul up. However, comparisons are made to earlier seasons...

The late Captain Tony Lara made a strong impact on Deadliest Catch in season 7, replacing Phil Harris on the Cornelia Marie. Lara's tragic death from a heart attack in 2015 shocked his former co-workers and friends, who celebrated his legacy online. Despite his short time on the show, Lara's competence and mentorship left a lasting impression on the crew of the Cornelia Marie.
Tony Lara was a captain on Deadliest Catch who tragically passed away after his short stint on the show. While there are plenty of faked moments in the Discovery Channel reality series Deadliest Catch, that doesn't mean the core concept of the show is phony. These are real fishermen on the boats doing legitimately dangerous work to fish for king crabs in the unpredictable Bering Strait. This type of work attracts a certain kind of person willing to put themselves at risk for pay and for adventure.

Cornelia Marie disappeared from Deadliest Catch due to captain Josh Harris' legal troubles and the show cutting ties with him and co-owner Casey McManus. The ship's last appearance was in season 18, and it did not return for season 19 or 20. There's a possibility of Cornelia Marie's return to Deadliest Catch with Taylor Jansen at the helm, but its future remains uncertain.
It's unclear what exactly happened to the Cornelia Marie when it suddenly disappeared from Deadliest Catch, but some behind-the-scenes issues have shed light on the ship's unanticipated absence. The Cornelia Marie is one of the most recognizable boats on Deadliest Catch, with its long tenure on the show, yellow and blue hull, and renowned captains. It's a ship even casual fans would recognize. Until season 6, Cornelia Marie was helmed by the fan-favorite captain, Phil Harris, who also co-owned the boat. However, tragedy struck.

As if Prince Andrew wasn’t already disgraced enough, a musical TV special is set to satirize the embattled British royal still further.

If you are a fan of classic Hollywood movie musicals, there is a strong chance you have probably had the debate: Gene Kelly or Fred Astaire? It's a silly debate, obviously, but pitting the two premiere tap-dancing leading men of some of the most loved films of all time against each other is a classic cinephile's version of, "Who would win in a fight, Superman or Wonder Woman?" If I have to choose, I choose Gene, but I have nothing against Fred. Despite their unparalleled hoofing skills, I go to the two men for completely different things. When I want athleticism and relatability, I go for Gene. When I want precision in both movement and story, I go for Fred.
Fred Astaire is undeniably Hollywood legend, thanks in large part to his on-screen chemistry with the equally delightful Ginger Rogers, but his path to stardom was not an obvious one.

“If I told you how nice he was, you wouldn’t believe it,” Beckoff said.
Storch was great friends with Tony Curtis — a fellow New Yorker whom he met when they served aboard a submarine tender in the U.S. Navy — and they appeared together in The Prince Who Was a Thief (1951), Who Was That Lady? (1960), 40 Pounds of Trouble (1962), Captain Newman, M.D. (1963), Sex...

Fremantle’s Fiction Valley Ties With ‘Dirty Lines’ Creator Pieter Bart Korthuis
Fremantle label Fiction Valley has struck a three-year deal with Netflix’s Dirty Lines creator and showrunner Pieter Bart Korthuis. The agreement will see Fiction Valley, which is run by Annemike van Vliet, develop and produce a slate of scripted drama series from Korthuis, one of Holland’s leading creatives. The pair have already tied on Dirty Lines, Netflix’s series about late-1980s Amsterdam and Korthuis’ other work includes political series The Year of Fortuyn and Penoza. Fiction Valley’s credits include Suspects and a remake of The A-Word. “Pieter’s extraordinary talent as creator, writer, director and showrunner is unique and beyond limits,” said van Vliet. Striking talent deals and acquiring labels is a key plank of Fremantle’s strategy at the moment and the group signed a landmark deal with Angelina Jolie earlier this year.

‘Scared Of The Dark’: Celebrities To Live Without Light For A Week In Latest Channel 4 Global Format
Celebrities will live in the dark for a week in a Channel 4 format from British formats veteran Glenn Hugill’s Possessed and MultiStory Media, the latest to be commissioned by the network’s Global Format Fund.
In Scared of the Dark (working title), the celebrities will base themselves in a specially-created pitch-black reality space, living in complete and total darkness.
They will have to endure the unique pressures of light deprivation as well as adapting to performing daily tasks and undertaking a series of thought-provoking challenges. If they can quell their fears and perform well in the intense challenges, these celebrities could earn themselves a brief respite in the light.
“Channel 4 has always been home to some of the most outlandish and boundary-pushing reality creations and Scared of the Dark is a commission firmly in that tradition,” said Head of Entertainment and Events Phil Harris, who commissioned the series from the Global Format Fund,...

If the Discovery Channel was angling for a hit show, then they hauled it in with the “Deadliest Catch,” which premiered in 2005 and has aired every year since.
The documentary series, narrated by Mike Rowe, follows crab fishermen and crab boats as they ply their dangerous and sometimes deadly trade in the Bering Sea during the Alaskan king crab and snow crab fishing seasons. The base for the crab fleet is the Aleutian Islands port of Dutch Harbor, Alaska.
Through the years of the TV show’s airing, it has proven popular around the globe, making the skippers, their crewman, and their boats, celebrities in their own right.
This year’s season, which kicks off with a two-hour premiere on April 19, finds the crews of nine crab vessels trying to cope with the Alaskan government shutting down red king crab catching for the season. You’ll also find them contending with the usual treacherous seas,...
