Award-winning singer Natalie Douglas has performed several dozen concerts on the Birdland stage over the past ten years. Each time, she packs the room with an ever-growing fan base eager to cheer her inimitable voice, exquisitely-produced shows and passion-filled, hilarious conversation. This past Monday was no exception when Natalie, musical director Mark Hartman and their band of Broadway All-Stars brought 'The Birthday Show' to the historic music room. Laura Pietropinto, former Assistant Director of Next to Normal, and a team of theatre professionals have come together to bring a unique two-week musical theatre workshop to Columbia University. Working with such figures as Musical Director Mark Hartman Avenue Q, Producer Jillian Robbins Annie, and Choreographer Lorin Latarro American Idiot among others, students workshopped College The Musical. It is the story of Nathan, a first year student trying to navigate his way through the college world.

Broadway Loves Shriners Hospitals for Children Benefit Concert is set for tonight, December 3, at the Grand Lodge Masonic Hall located at 23rd Street and 6th Avenue. Hosted by award-winning Broadway leading lady Donna Kane Les Miserables, Meet Me In St. Louis with musical supervision by Mark Hartman Avenue Q, Sondheim on Sondheim and Choreography by Becky Timms Thoroughly Modern Millie, Cats, the concert will include performances of popular show tunes and holiday classics by past and present Broadway stars.
