Due to the large volume of films that the Toronto International Film Festival screens every year, participants often find themselves unsure of how to decide what to see. To that end, festival organisers often distribute the films into numerous programmes to reflect commonalities among them. The Contemporary World Cinema Programme, to that end, looks at the features from filmmakers from around the world, showcasing the talents being displayed from numerous countries.

The full lineup for the 2015 Tiff Contemporary World Cinema Programme has now been announced, adding to the previously announced slate of Canadian Films in the Programme. The films, as well as their official synopses, can be seen below.

25 April, directed by Leanne Pooley, making its World Premiere

Award-winning filmmaker Leanne Pooley utilizes the letters and memoirs of New Zealand soldiers and nurses along with state of the art animation to tell the true story of the 1915 battle of Gallipoli.

Sony Pictures has confirmed that starting at 10am Pacific time today, you will be able to rent James Franco and Seth Rogen's comedy The Interview on YouTube, Google Play, and Xbox for only $5.99. You will also have the option to buy it for $14.99 which is pretty much the cost of admission for seeing a movie here in Los Angeles. There's also an official website that has been set up for anyone who may not have access to those services. There have been talks of the film being made available on Netflix in the next few days as well, but there's no confirmation of that yet. It's good to see that Sony didn't let the hackers win. Enjoy the movie! Hopefully it was worth all the insanity.

Update: According to CNN's Brian Stelter and confirmed by Sony (via Huffington Post), audiences choosing to stay home over the holiday will be able to rent ($6) or buy ($15) the film from various online streaming outlets starting at 1:00 Pm Et today, as in December 24, via SeeTheInterview.com.

When Sony Pictures reversed their plans to cancel their theatrical release of The Interview earlier today, the decision sent indie theaters across the country into a frenzy to book the comedy in time for Christmas Day on Thursday. Deadline reports that Sony has implemented a 6 Pm Pst deadline for theaters to book the film, so the studio can send out hard drives containing the movie in time for these screenings. So far, a number of venues across the country have been confirmed, with several more likely to come as we get closer to the studio's deadline. Here's a statement from one source familiar with Sony's situation.

"Sony has had so many bookings coming in it is now focused on areas where a theater can guarantee a two-week run, or longer. They're so inundated with bookings they are being more careful about where they are booking [The Interview] in all the different markets.

Refresh for latest… Here’s a list of theaters confirmed to be showing Sony’s The Interview on Christmas Day after the studio worked with indie chains on a release plan finalized this morning. The venues have a deadline of 6 Pm Pt today to decide whether to run the movie on December 25, as Sony must send theaters the movie hard drives in time to make Christmas Day screenings. Some theaters are booking the film for later in the month or into January, so that deadline isn’t looming as large. As of 4 Pm, more than 200 theaters had signed on.

This is all happening fast so this list will continue to grow. We’re hearing that there are still internal discussions among art houses about whether to add the pic to their schedules, with security and previous commitments among the concerns. After Sony announced Tuesday that it would reverse its decision to cancel the Christmas Day release of "The Interview," dozens of independent theaters across the country made plans to show the flick.

Various media outlets have been reporting the locations that are said to be screening the film, and we're compiling them here. Below is the list so far, which we'll update as more information rolls in.

A young mom is dead after being shot in the head by her 3-year-old son in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Christa Engles was changing her 1-year-old daughter's diaper when her 3-year-old son found a semiautomatic handgun under the couch, Kjrh reports. Engles, 26, who lived with her mother and husband, was alone with the children at the time of the accident on Monday evening. The woman was rushed to the hospital after her mother arrived home and found her daughter "in the front room of the house as if she was changing the 1-year-old's diaper," Tulsa police Sgt. Dave Walker said in a statement to Tulsa World.

The Case: If I asked moviegoers to consider today's subject, the vast majority would express the same sentiment in regard to today's subject; that is, what the hell happened to Vince Vaughn? Babies, you know what I'm talking about when I refer to Vaughn's promising performance as Trent "Double Down" Walker in Swingers. Vaughn virtually materialized out of thin air to great effect -- women wanted him, and men wanted to be him. To put it quite simply, he was money... and he still is, but Vince's definition of "money" has drastically changed over the past fifteen years. Instead of a descriptor of coolness, the term now refers to what's rattling around in Vaughn's very oversized pockets. Then again, the size of the pockets has changed as well.
