Mission Hill never quite got the respect it deserved in its time. The animated sitcom following four youngsters sharing a loft in the trendy metropolitan neighborhood of the title was set to air its 18-episode first season on The WB in 1999. However, poor ratings and changes at the network led to the show's swift cancelation after 13 episodes were produced and only six aired. Mission Hill found a second life in syndication. Networks like Adult Swim and Teletoon aired the complete series, and it developed an unlikely cult following among adult animation aficionados.
Among Mission Hill's supporting cast were Gus and Wally, a sixty-something gay couple who lived next door to the main cast and occasionally participated in or commented on their shenanigans. In a surprisingly progressive move, Gus and Wally's sexuality isn't treated as a joke but presented as a matter-of-fact aspect of life in Cosmopolis. Their foibles and...

Adult Swim has dropped the first trailer for Metalocalypse: Army of the Doomstar.
Released to YouTube, the preview opens with Charles Foster Offdensen (Brendon Small) warning Dethklok that "the end of days is nigh" and that after so many years, "the metalocalypse is upon us." Although they're scared, the band sets out to find the "Song of Salvation" that will save the world from the coming Doomstar and Mr. Salacia's (Mark Hamill) evil plans for it. The trailer concludes by announcing that Army of the Doomstar will release on digital and Blu-ray on August 22.

Created by Dave Willis and Matt Maiellaro, Aqua Teen Hunger Force was one of the establishing shows of Adult Swim. Debuting at the tail-end of 2000, the show went on to become one of the most enduring series in the programming block, earning twelve seasons, two movies, and an upcoming five-episode come-back series. Ahead of the release of 2007's Aqua Teen Hunger Force Colon Movie Film for Theaters, the show became even more well-known -- albeit for some unexpected reasons. A marketing campaign involving small light-up replicas of the show's Mooninites turned into a city-wide bomb scare for Boston that resulted in a slew of breathless reporting in mainstream media, the resignation of a Cartoon Network General Manager, and $2 million in fines.
In subsequent years, the incident has been analyzed by academics and teased by the show -- with one episode openly mocking the chaotic fallout being developed but never completed.

Screen Rant recently spoke with some of the creators of Aqua Teen Hunger Force about the show's return, their new film, and the unreleased episode centered on the 2007 Boston Bomb Scare they were responsible for. Athf started in 2000 on Adult Swim's late-night block of adult animated series that entertained countless fans and inspired much of the humor of today's comedies. However, Aqua Teen went on to become one of the world's most recognizable adult animated series — though not without some controversy, like the infamous 2007 marketing campaign for Aqua Teen Hunger Force Colon Movie Film For Theaters.
A marketing stunt for 2007's Movie Film for Theaters went horribly wrong when Boston police mistook small boxes plastered with Athf characters, The Mooninites, as explosive devices and effectively shut down parts of the city. It made national news, apologies were given, and $2 million was paid to the city of Boston in restitution.
