Transformers, Ninja Turtles, Taylor Sheridan and More: All the IP David Ellison’s Skydance Gets in Paramount Acquisition
Image
Now that David Ellison’s Skydance has secured the keys to Paramount Global, what toys await him inside the company’s intellectual property chest?

After a nail-biting federal approval process that inspired backlash, Ellison and team have not only secured a legacy distributor, but a trove of content in various stages of production and development.

As the new Skydance-Paramount team prepares to set leadership (Paramount Global co-ceo Chris McCarthy is already out; Paramount Pictures CEO Brian Robbins is expected to depart imminently; CBS honcho George Cheeks is the only leader pegged to stay with the new team), here’s what they’ve got on the board:

Film

Robbins became president and CEO of Paramount Pictures in 2021, following a fraught tenure led by veteran movie executive Jim Gianopulos. Robbins, a teen star who became a powerful family content executive at Nickelodeon, helped boost the volume of original film production and...

Yellowstone’s Biggest Mystery Might Be at Risk Thanks to Neal McDonough’s Wish to Bring Back Malcolm Beck
Image
If there’s one thing Taylor Sheridan’s Yellowstone nailed season after season, it was delivering villains that matched the weight of the Dutton family’s legacy. Even when storylines stumbled or pacing faltered, the antagonists never lost their bite. Among these adversaries, Neal McDonough’s Malcolm Beck carved out a niche that fans still debate today because the character, according to the actor himself, is not dead.

In a recent interview with Collider, the Tulsa King actor, 59, was unequivocal:

Yes, Malcolm Beck is not dead. No one saw him actually die in the field.

The actor’s enthusiasm for reprising the role, especially alongside his close friend Cole Hauser (Rip Wheeler), adds fuel to the fire of fan speculation.

I would love to see him come back and cause havoc with Rip because Cole Hauser was one of my dearest pals, and there’s nothing I would love more...

What Happened To Lee Dutton On Yellowstone? His Fate Explained
Image
Taylor Sheridan's "Yellowstone" boasts its fair share of shocking deaths, some of which befall members of the seemingly invincible Dutton family. For proof, look no further than the season 1 premiere, "Daybreak," which sees Lee Dutton (Dave Annable) -- the family's eldest son and most loyal rancher -- get shot down during a cattle heist gone awry. So, what happened exactly?

"Daybreak" sees the Dutton family's cattle wander into the Broken Skull Reservation, which is run by their then-rival Thomas Rainwater (Gil Birmingham). Given that this clan of cowboys aren't the type of people to let their enemies keep their cattle, John Dutton (Kevin Costner), his sons, and their livestock agents storm into the neighboring territory to reclaim their cows, but the residents of the Broken Skull Reservation are expecting them and all hell breaks loose. Bullets start flying, and Lee is the unfortunate soul who gets caught in the crossfire.

Taylor Sheridan's Best Yellowstone Spinoff Is Still Crushing Netflix's Global Streaming Charts Months After Finale
Image
The Yellowstone universe continues to reap rewards for its brainchild, Taylor Sheridan, as the best spinoff of the series continues to be a big hit long after its latest season concluded. The critically acclaimed Western drama, 1923, saddles up with streaming success on Netflix.

Per Netflix, the first season of 1923 is roping in viewers on Netflix as the show is among the top 10 most-viewed English-language titles at the time of writing. 1923 Season 1 ranks 9th on the Netflix chart for the week of Jul. 7 to Jul. 13, with 17.3 million hours viewed during that span. The series is a new entry on a list topped by The Sandman Season 2, having jumped onto Netflix in June. Notably, the show is not available on Netflix in the United States, getting its viewership from international territories.

Along with its newfound Netflix success, 1923 has also become a hit on the premium video-on-demand (PVOD) market. Earlier this week,...

Taylor Sheridan's Best Yellowstone Spinoff Tops the Global PVOD Charts (& It's a Shame It Ended)
Image
After breaking records on Paramount+, 1923 is setting some new ones on PVOD. Despite some stiff competition, the Yellowstone prequel series has topped the PVOD chart on iTunes.

According to FlixPatrol, 1923 is ranked No. 1 on iTunes' Global Top TV Shows, as of July 15. Even with the original series having now ended, the Yellowstone franchise remains one of the biggest IPs in the world, allowing 1923 to beat other fan-favorite series like Rick and Morty, The Last of Us, The White Lotus, and Law & Order: Special Victims Unit on the PVOD chart. The prequel's success on iTunes isn't entirely surprising though, considering that the series was a major hit during its two-season run on Paramount+, with the series finale alone attracting an audience of $14 million during its first week on the streamer.

Created by Sheridan, 1923 is the second prequel series to Yellowstone, premiering less than a year after its predecessor,...

Tom Hardy’s Underrated Crime Drama Leaves Taylor Sheridan’s Yellowstone in Dust on Paramount+ Charts
Image
Tom Hardy has struck gold with MobLand, a British crime saga that has stealthily scaled Paramount+’s global streaming ladder to claim the #2 spot as of July 11, 2025. And it’s surprisingly surpassing Taylor Sheridan’s Yellowstone, which sits at #3 (per Flixpatrol). This isn’t merely a case of star power; MobLand offers a gritty narrative of warring crime families, anchored by Hardy’s portrayal of Harry Da Souza, the fixer caught in the crossfire of the Harrigan dynasty.

Created by Ronan Bennett, whose fingerprints are familiar from the groundbreaking Top Boy, MobLand is a meticulously crafted story drawing on authentic, lived experiences of gang culture, far removed from the sprawling American ranch drama that dominates Paramount+.

Taylor Sheridan Has Spent $320 Million to Protect the “Rich Heritage of Ranching in Texas”
Image
Taylor Sheridan’s living the cowboy life. The Yellowstone creator reportedly dropped $320 million to buy the historic 6666 Ranch in Texas, one of the most iconic pieces of land in American ranching history. But this wasn’t about status or TV backdrops. For Sheridan, it’s about preserving a way of life that’s been slowly fading.

“The legacy of the 6666 Ranch and Miss Marion’s vision for the ranch are vital not only to the ranch itself but the rich heritage of ranching in Texas,” Sheridan said at the time of the purchase, per sources.

The ranch spans 266,000 acres (twice the size of Chicago) and is still fully operational. It’s a real-deal cowboy kingdom, complete with quarter horses, Angus cattle, and around 20 full-time cowboys keeping things running. Ts ain’t just investing in land – in fact, he’s protecting the roots of the American West.

Taylor Sheridan’s $320M...

Forget John Dutton, Yellowstone Beth & Rip’s Spinoff Confirms Major Casting That Could Redefine the Ranch
Image
The Yellowstone universe is shifting its gaze beyond John Dutton, as the upcoming Beth and Rip spinoff stakes its claim on a new generation. With Kevin Costner’s towering presence unlikely to reprise, casting buzz reveals a search for a Costner-like figure to anchor Kelly Reilly and Cole Hauser’s return as Beth and Rip.

Yet, the real heir apparent isn’t a new face but a familiar one: Finn Little’s Carter. Deadline confirms Carter will follow Beth and Rip to their new life on a Montana ranch, cementing his role as their surrogate son and potentially the next Dutton patriarch in waiting. This development directly ties into Yellowstone season 5’s finale, where Carter’s relocation with the couple signaled his permanent place within their sphere.

Taylor Sheridan’s storytelling blueprint relies on seasoned elders mentoring younger blood, as evidenced by Costner’s John Dutton and Harrison Ford’s Jacob Dutton in 1923. And,...

Finn Little is returning as Carter Dutton for Yellowstone’s Beth & Rip spinoff
Taylor Sheridan
As Taylor Sheridan’s Yellowstone universe expands, fan-favorite actor Finn Little will return as Carter Dutton for the Beth & Rip spinoff, which is currently in development. The spinoff series does not have a title as of yet. However, we know the project finds Kelly Reilly and Cole Hauser reprising their roles as Beth Dutton and Rip Wheeler, respectively.

According to a report from Deadline, the Beth & Rip spinoff should remain in the present-day timeline, keeping with Yellowstone’s canon. Yellowstone follows “the Dutton family, led by John Dutton (Kevin Costner), who controls the largest contiguous ranch in the United States. The ranch is under constant attack by those it borders—land developers, an Indian reservation, and United States of America’s first National Park.”

Finn Little debuted in Yellowstone’s fourth season. He is a troubled teen who meets Beth at the hospital where her ailing father receives care. Carter...

'Yellowstone' Star Finn Little Confirmed To Return in Beth & Rip Spin-Off
Image
The Yellowstone franchise has already branded out with several prequels, but it will be getting a spin-off set after the controversial events of the series finale. Featuring the show's fan-favorites Beth Dutton and Rip Wheeler, another key character will be seen in the new Yellowstone follow-up. Paramount+ has been secretive about the streaming series, but reports continue to flow out of the highly-anticipated project.

According to Deadline, Yellowstone actor Finn Little has joined the upcoming spin-off focused on Beth Dutton (Kelly Reilly) and Rip Wheeler (Cole Hauser). Little will reprise his role as Carter, the young teen that was first introduced in Season 4. Considering that he had a close relationship with Beth and Rip, it makes sense that Little will have an elevated role as a series regular this time around. Plot details remain scarce regarding the currently untitled series, but expect it to take place in the modern-day timeline and,...

Here’s everything there is to know so far about the so-far unnamed Yellowstone Beth and Rip spinoff. Who is in the Yellowstone Beth and Rip spinoff cast? Reilly and Hauser will be back as Beth and Rip, with Little back as their son. Deadline reported Little’s return on Friday, July 11. Other cast members will be announced at a later time. In breaking the news Friday that the Australian-born 19-year-old had been made a series regular on the Paramount+ offshoot, our sister site Deadline teed up a reminder that the as-yet-untitled show is expected to follow the same timeline as Taylor Sheridan’s Og drama.

Another Yellowstone Fan Favorite Is Returning for Paramount+'s Beth and Rip Spinoff
Image
Paramount+'s Yellowstone spinoff following Beth Dutton and Rip Wheeler just got a major update. Series leads Kelly Reilly and Cole Hauser will be joined in the spinoff by another Yellowstone alum.

According to Deadline, Finn Little will be reprising his role from the mothership as Carter, who debuted back in the fourth season. This isn't an entirely unsurprising casting update, given that Beth and Rip serve as the guardians of Carter. At the time of writing, Reilly, Hauser, and Little remain the only three cast members attached to the untitled spinoff, which was first reported to be in development back in August 2024.

Unlike the other franchise extensions that have been released or are in development, this offshoot is expected to carry Yellowstone in its title, although Dutton Ranch is also reportedly being considered. While exact plot details remain under wraps, the upcoming spinoff is expected to follow Beth and...

The Dutton family may have ridden off into the sunset last year, but Yellowstone fans can breathe a sigh of relief — the saga isn't over yet. In fact, it’s just getting started. Taylor Sheridan's latest expansion to his ever-growing Paramount+ slate is in pre-production now, while Sheridan finishes up work on the second season of Landman, due to wrap filming shortly ahead of a November release.

‘Yellowstone’ Alum Finn Little Joins Beth & Rip Spinoff Series
Image
The “Yellowstone” spinoff focused on Beth and Rip will feature another familiar face, with Finn Little set to reprise his role as Carter in the series.

Variety has confirmed with sources that Little will appear in the upcoming Paramount+ show after having originally played Carter beginning with the show’s fourth season. He joins previously announced leads Kelly Reilly and Cole Hauser.

Reps for Paramount+ did not immediately respond to Variety‘s request for comment.

In “Yellowstone,” Carter is a troubled teenager whose father dies of a heroin overdose. He meets Beth (Reilly), who takes a shine to the boy, and is given a job at the Dutton ranch. Rip is at first unimpressed with Carter but soon takes him under his wing, teaching him the ins and outs of cowboy life.

In addition to his time on “Yellowstone,” Little previously starred in shows like “Tidelands” and “Reckoning.” He has...

‘Yellowstone’s Finn Little Returning As Carter For Beth & Rip Spinoff
Image
Exclusive: Finn Little will reprise his Yellowstone character, Carter, as a series regular in the as-yet-untitled Beth and Rip spinoff for Paramount+, sources tell Deadline. He joins his former co-stars Kelly Reilly and Cole Hauser, who are leading the Taylor Sheridan series as their characters from the original series, Beth Dutton and Rip Wheeler, respectively.

As Deadline revealed in December, the show is expected to remain on the same present-day timeline, with the new offshoot sharing the most DNA with the mothership of any show in the universe to date.

The original series follows the Dutton family that controls the largest contiguous cattle ranch in the United States. Reilly’s Beth is John Dutton III’s (Kevin Costner) daughter, a former head of acquisitions at the Schwartz & Meyer financial firm. Hauser’s jaded ranch foreman Rip Wheeler, who first came to John Dutton as a young boy on the run...

Yellowstone Villain Actor Suggests His Character Is Still Alive - Could He Return For Taylor Sheridan's Spinoff?
Image
Actor Neal McDonough has suggested that his Yellowstone villain character isn't actually dead, and that he should return for the spinoff. Appearing in Yellowstone season 2, McDonough played Malcolm Beck, one of the Dutton family's most formidable foes. But though Malcolm was a force, he met his (seeming) bitter end when John Dutton shot him and left him to die in a field.

While Malcolm's fate looked to be sealed, McDonough has different ideas about what happened to his Yellowstone character, which he revealed to Collider. McDonough was confident in his assertion that Malcolm Beck survived his gunshot wound, saying, "No one actually saw him die."

The actor then went on to express hope that he could reprise his role as Malcolm in Taylor Sheridan's Yellowstone spinoff centered around Beth and Rip. McDonough revealed that Rip actor Cole Hauser is one of his "dearest pals," and thathe would relish the...

‘Yellowstone’ Star, 59, Says Character “Is Not Dead,” Wants to Return in Taylor Sheridan Spin-Off [Exclusive]
Image
Taylor Sheridan has created an entire empire of frontier grit, deadly grudges, and big hats — and Neal McDonough is here for it. The Yellowstone and Tulsa King star sat down with Collider’s Maggie Lovitt to reflect on his time in Sheridan’s universe, and let’s just say: he’s not ready to hang up his cowboy boots just yet. When Lovitt brought up Yellowstone fans’ undying curiosity about the fate of Malcolm Beck — McDonough’s Season 2 villain who may or may not have kicked the bucket — the actor made it clear how he interpreted the end of the character's journey.

“Yes, Malcolm Beck is not dead,” McDonough said definitively. “No one saw him actually die in the field. I would love to see him come back and cause havoc with Rip because Cole Hauser was one of my dearest pals, and there's nothing I would love more than...

Yellowstone: 10 Most Annoying Characters Taylor Sheridan Has Written
Image
Taylor Sheridan’s Yellowstone is packed with characters so frustrating that they hit below the belt. Since its inception in 2017, it has laid bare a brutal world of power struggles, family legacies, and ranch life, soaked in blood, betrayal, and bad calls.

Set in Montana’s unforgiving plains, the Duttons, led by John Dutton, have fought tooth and nail to protect their ancestral Yellowstone Ranch. But amid the gunfights and drama, Sheridan has created characters so aggravating that even the cattle would be shaking their heads.

Let’s cut to the chase: here are Yellowstone’s most infuriating characters. You’ve stuck through five seasons, endured the accents, and screamed at your screen. Now here’s the proof in black and white.

10. Walker Still from Yellowstone | Paramount Network

Yellowstone Is Quietly Making a Streaming Comeback Despite Taylor Sheridan's Controversial Final Season
Image
Taylor Sheridan's Yellowstoneis taking over the streaming charts one more time.

Per FlixPatrol, Yellowstone has officially reached the number three spot on the top streaming series chart for Paramount+ for Jul. 9. The series sits just behind other hit series, including South Park and MobLand, in the number one and two spots, respectively, although Yellowstone is still fairly far ahead of other genre favorites like Blue Bloods and Tulsa King.

Yellowstone premiered back in 2018, quickly establishing itself as the latest pop culture phenomenon thanks to its expansive setting, sprawling story, and tense, tight writing. The series starred Kevin Costner as John Dutton III, the patriarch of the Dutton family who own and manage vast swathes of ranch land. Yellowstone's leading ensemble cast included Luke Grimes as Kayce Dutton, Wes Bentley as Jamie Dutton, Kelly Reilly as Beth Dutton, and Cole Hauser as Rip Wheeler, the latter two of whom are...

Taylor Sheridan Isn’t Okay With Yellowstone Fans Worshipping Him Like a God
Image
We might call Taylor Sheridan the very genius behind Yellowstone and its ever-expanding universe, but don’t expect him to bask in the limelight. Despite the fanfare and cult-like devotion from viewers, Sheridan isn’t too comfortable being worshipped like a storytelling god. As he himself admitted during a conversation with director Peter Berg – “I just don’t think I’m that unique. If something’s interesting to me, it’s probably going to be interesting to a lot of other people. I’m just not that f***ing special.”

While Yellowstone launched him into TV royalty, he’s more focused on the craft than the clout. For him, it’s about the story, not the stardom.

Why Does Taylor Sheridan Think He’s No Genius Even If Yellowstone Fans Worship Him Like One?

Taylor Sheridan straight-up admitted that he’s no genius. In fact, he thinks fans giving him...

15 Shows Like ‘Yellowstone’ to Watch While You Wait for More Spinoffs
Image
It’s no secret that “Yellowstone” is one of those once-in-a-decade types of shows that has everyone talking around the virtual water coolers. And while fans said goodbye to the flagship series last year, “Yellowstone” has created an itch in viewers that just needs to be scratched now, and we can do that via similar type shows.

And sure, we could suggest other super popular series like “Ozark” and “Succession” that also include messy families involved with shady dealings, but odds are you’ve seen them already. And if not, you definitely should whether you like “Yellowstone” or not. These are just the facts. We could also recommend the two “Yellowstone” prequel series “1884” and “1923,” but that’s kind of a given if you’re already a fan of the original. But speaking of, fans who prefer those two offerings over the present day story will not be disappointed with this list either.

Why Kayce Dutton Got a ‘Yellowstone’ Spinoff — and Why Luke Grimes Said Yes
Image
Saying goodbye to Yellowstone was harder than Luke Grimes expected, but he felt his Dutton chapters were over. And then, just a few months after Yellowstone‘s final season wrapped filming, the idea for the Kayce Dutton spinoff, Y: Marshals, came along. Grimes explains his reasons for saying yes to the CBS procedural in a new interview. Following the Yellowstone series finale in December, there are two spinoffs in the works, each centering the surviving Dutton siblings. There’s the Beth and Rip spinoff starring Kelly Reilly and Cole Hauser, a series that will likely be airing on Paramount Network and/or Paramount+. The second spinoff is about Grimes’ Kayce Dutton, but it’s shockingly going to be a procedural on CBS. While CBS is under the Paramount umbrella, and while CBS aired seasons of Yellowstone in the past, it’s an unexpected development to see this franchise move over to broadcast TV.

Y: Marshals: Everything We Know About The Yellowstone Procedural Starring Luke Grimes
Image
What Do We Know About Y: Marshals, the upcoming Yellowstone spin-off series focused on Luke Grimes as Kayce Dutton? More than you may think. The CBS series is slated to continue where the original Yellowstone left off, but in a direction we have never seen from a Taylor Sheridan series before. From plot, casting news, and more, let’s dive in and look at what is coming up in the new addition to the Yellowstone franchise.

Y: Marshals will be a procedural.

While the term procedural may not be something the general public is familiar with, it represents many series on network television. Procedural refers to any series that follows a law enforcement or military agency as they investigate crimes, while the audience gets to follow along. Think of shows like Law & Order, NCIS, CSI, or any other acronym-titled show. In the case of this Yellowstone spin-off, Y: Marshals will follow Kayce Dutton,...

Yellowstone Star Shares Journey to Becoming a Real-Life Cowboy
Image
‘Yellowstone’ as we know it may have ended, but that doesn’t mean that we’re leaving the world, or our favorites, behind, because shortly after the original aired its finale episode, a spinoff was announced. And this spinoff is not like the others, since we don’t get to begin the journey with brand new characters.

Instead Cole Hauser – who played the fan-favorite character Rip Wheeler – will be returning to helm the new series alongside Kelly Reilly’s Beth Dutton.

Cole Hauser Disbands Rumors About the New Spinoff’s Title

Taylor Sheridan knew why he chose the character Rip to continue the ‘Yellowstone’ story. Ever since his first appearance, the character had managed to endear himself to fans, not least because of his dedication to his job as the Dutton’s enforcer.

For those who aren’t very familiar with Hauser’s Rip, the character’s story more or...

On This Day 7 Years Ago, Taylor Sheridan Unlocked the Keys to a $70,000,000 Empire
Image
Seven years ago today, June 20, 2018, Taylor Sheridan dropped the very first episode of Yellowstone, unknowingly kicking off what would become a $70 million storytelling empire. What started as a neo-Western drama about a powerful ranching family quickly turned into a pop culture phenomenon. Sheridan’s gritty writing and witty characters struck a chord, and from that single premiere, a franchise was born.

With multiple spinoffs, star-studded casts, and a massive Paramount deal, Ts not only created a hit, but he also changed the landscape of TV. And it all began with Yellowstone’s explosive pilot.

June 20, 2018. That’s the day Yellowstone exploded onto screens with its first episode, Daybreak, which snowballed into a $70 million storytelling empire. Taylor Sheridan, the show’s co-creator, was this close to walking away. But the premiere hit like dynamite,...

Yellowstone Would’ve Worked Better if Taylor Sheridan Made It a ‘Late 1970s’ Show
Image
Taylor Sheridan’s Yellowstone thrives on rugged legacy and modern land wars, but set in today’s world, it sometimes clashes with its own cowboy mythos. Now picture it unfolding in the late 1970s – a time of oil crises, anti-establishment anger, and wide-open cultural rebellion. That era was a powder keg perfect for the Duttons.

With no cell phones or satellite surveillance, the ranch drama would’ve felt more earned, the violence more untamed, and the politics more potent. Yellowstone was always a show out of time, maybe it just needed to be set in one.

Hot take but a pretty damn convincing one: Yellowstone might’ve been even better if Taylor Sheridan had dropped the Duttons into the late 1970s.

‘Beth & Rip’ Yellowstone Spinoff Release Avoids a Big Stranger Things Mistake but All’s Not Good for Taylor Sheridan
Image
Ah, Stranger Things, the show that started with nosebleeds and Dungeons & Dragons and somehow evolved into a 1980s fever dream where teenagers look like they’re eligible for car insurance discounts. The Stranger Things release schedule was a timeline so chaotic it could’ve been scribbled by a caffeinated squirrel. Season 1? 2016. Season 2? A year later. Then came a two-year void, followed by Season 3 in 2019. Season 4? Not until 2022. And Season 5? It’s limping across 2025 in three parts, like Netflix is rationing content during a snowstorm.

The result? Kids who started off fighting monsters ended up looking like they should be doing their taxes. But behold! Taylor Sheridan seems to have miraculously dodged this cinematic curse with the Beth & Rip Yellowstone spinoff. Premiering in November 2025, the show promises continuity without creaking bones.

Finn Little, once a tween, now straddling manhood, will finally play Carter without looking like he’s been paying taxes for five years.

’Yellowstone’s Beth and Rip Spin-Off Just Got a Great Update
Image
Taylor Sheridan is officially making November feel like Christmas for fans of Yellowstone and Landman. After wrapping up the flagship Yellowstone series in 2024, Paramount+ is doubling down on the Dutton universe with an ambitious lineup this fall. And leading the charge? Kelly Reilly and Cole Hauser’s long-awaited Yellowstone spin-off centered on Beth and Rip. Per Paramount Global’s Q1 2025 earnings call, the Yellowstone spin-off starring Beth and Rip will premiere globally on Paramount+ in November.

The show, rumored to be titled Dutton Ranch, is expected to air alongside the second season of Landman, the Billy Bob Thornton oil boom drama that’s become one of Sheridan’s most-watched series. It had been previously confirmed that Landman Season 2 would drop in November, and now it seems to be official that Beth and Rip are joining the party too.

“Now turning to Yellowstone, the series remains the number one start driver...

Nola King: Taylor Sheridan’s New Samuel L. Jackson Show Must Avoid a Yellowstone Error That ‘Tulsa King’ Repeated
Image
Taylor Sheridan’s teaming up with Samuel L. Jackson for Nola King, and the hype’s already simmering. But if Sheridan wants this New Orleans-set crime saga to truly pop, he needs to steer clear of one glaring Yellowstone universe misstep, repeating Tulsa King’s formula without fixing its flaws.

While Tulsa King had Stallone swagger, it stumbled with undercooked characters and a tone that couldn’t decide if it was gritty or goofy. With a powerhouse like Jackson leading Nola King, Sheridan’s got the perfect shot to go deeper, darker, and way sharper. Just leave the cowboy clichés and tonal whiplash behind, please.

The hit Western drama rides its way up the Peacock charts three months after debuting on the NBC-owned streaming service.

Beth & Rip Yellowstone Spinoff: Will Carter Be Beth Dutton’s Shot at Redemption?
Image
How are some people as jagged as broken glass but somehow still manage to catch the light? That’s Beth Dutton for you. She’s a whiskey neat in a world of lemon spritzers: brash, untamed, and always two inches from lighting the whole place on fire. But what happens when a firebrand like Beth is handed a child: a hurting, vulnerable, world-weary 14-year-old named Carter?

In the upcoming Yellowstone spinoff, reportedly named Dutton Ranch, set to hit screens this November, we’ll follow Beth and Rip as they try to carve out a ranching life beyond the Dutton empire. But this isn’t just about cattle and land. It’s also about second chances, bruised love, and quiet reckoning.

Most of all, it’s about whether a woman who once flinched at the word ‘mama’ can finally claim motherhood, not with her mouth but with her heart. Will Carter...

Yellowstone: Has Taylor Sheridan Turned His Back on the Duttons?
Image
The Duttons exploded into pop culture when Yellowstone became an overnight success for Paramount Network back in 2018.

In the years that followed, we’ve had Dutton storylines transcend different decades with spinoffs 1883 and 1923.

It turns out, one of TV’s most talked-about families had a lot of story to tell, but I’m beginning to get the impression that Taylor Sheridan is growing tired of telling those stories.

(Paramount Network/Screenshot)

Yellowstone Season 5 was a self-indulgent mess that meandered more than it told decent storylines.

After four great seasons, it’s a headscratcher that Sheridan ended the beloved series with so many loose ends and little satisfaction.

Yellowstone is Expanding, But Will Taylor Sheridan Stick Around?

Before the Yellowstone series finale, there were rumblings that multiple spinoffs featuring the Duttons would materialize.

Beth & Rip Spinoff: Cole Hauser Reveals ‘Yellowstone’ Star He Will Miss the Most After Major Update
Image
Actor Cole Hauser emerged as a fan favorite during his tenure on the Taylor Sheridan series Yellowstone. It featured Hauser as Rip Wheeler, the right-hand man of John Dutton and love interest of Beth Dutton. The Neo Western-drama concluded late last year, with the door open for a Beth & Rip spin-off.

After speculation surrounding the proposed project, Hauser has finally provided an update on the spin-off series. At the same time, Hauser semi-confirmed that one major supporting character won’t be a part of the new series. Here is who Hauser will miss most on the new Yellowstone spin-off, and other updates regarding the new series.

Yellowstone star Cole Hauser shares major update on Beth & Rip spin-off

Actor Cole Hauser played the role of Rip Wheeler in all five seasons of Yellowstone, starring opposite Kelly Reilly‘s Beth Dutton. In the series, Rip’s love story and marriage to Beth are a major storyline.

Kelly Reilly’s ‘Beth and Rip’ Yellowstone Spinoff Would Be Wise To Ditch Taylor Sheridan if It Wants To Succeed
Image
If Kelly Reilly’s Beth and Rip spinoff wants to actually work, it needs to leave Taylor Sheridan in the dust. I know, I know, he created Yellowstone, but somewhere between all those cowboy standoffs and overcooked monologues, he lost the plot, especially when it came to Beth. It was as if she got stuck in a loop of snarling one-liners and trauma flashbacks.

Frankly, give Beth a fresh writer who actually understands women beyond the whiskey-and-wounds trope. Reilly deserves better. Rip deserves better. And we, the fans definitely deserve a spinoff that doesn’t feel like a rerun.

Let’s just rip the Band-Aid off: if the upcoming Beth and Rip spinoff wants to be more than a moody montage of bar fights and whiskey-soaked zingers, it Has to cut Taylor Sheridan loose.

Kevin Costner Wanted A Completely Different Ending For Yellowstone
Image
Despite the fact he stars in spin-off series "1883," Sam Elliott isn't a huge fan of the show that started it all: "Yellowstone." What's his problem with Taylor Sheridan's massively popular neo-Western series? Well, it's "too much like f***ing 'Dallas'" for Elliott's tastes, which I guess means it's a little too derivative of the CBS soap opera that aired from 1978 to 1991 and perhaps even a little too soapy itself.

"Yellowstone" certainly embraces melodrama, depicting the travails of the Dutton family on their Montana ranch and showcasing some of the most fraught and frankly ridiculous family drama you're ever likely to see on TV. But that's part of the reason the series is so successful. The drama aspect is presumably what kept a large part of the show's audience coming back for more every season. Of course, "Yellowstone" has now ended, finishing up in 2024 with a controversial final season...

'Yellowstone's Cole Hauser Reveals Taylor Sheridan's Original Plans Did Not Include Him Playing Rip Wheeler
Image
Cole Hauser, the actor known for his flawless performance as cowboy Rip Wheeler in Yellowstone, says that he wasn't always supposed to play the iconic character. Hauser's part is so good that it's hard to imagine anybody else playing the role of the loyal hand at the Dutton Ranch, but it turns out this wasn't Sheridan’s original plan.

The actor, also famous for his roles in the films Good Will Hunting and Dazed and Confused, sat down with The Hollywood Reporter to talk about his career. Hauser is currently promoting his work for the Professional Bull Riders league, a gig where he also proved his directorial skills. Naturally, Yellowstone came up as a highlight, and Hauser revealed that Rip was a character developed throughout the years. He talks about meeting co-creator John Linson before Sheridan, and discussing the original role that Linson thought Hauser would be better suited...

Yellowstone Creator Taylor Sheridan Joins Bidding War for Classic Horror Movie Franchise
Image
Taylor Sheridan is best known for creating a slew of original programming for Paramount. However, that doesn't mean that the Yellowstone creator isn't interested in getting his hands on some iconic IP.

According to Deadline, Sheridan is reportedly interested in the Texas Chainsaw Massacre property. However, he'll have some hefty competition for the rights to the Tobe Hooper and Kim Henkel-created horror franchise, which includes film, TV, live events, and games, as around half a dozen studios and/or streamers are also vying for the property. Verve, the company holding the rights to the IP since 2017, is behind the forthcoming bidding war, which will begin Monday, June 9. At this time, Sheridan, who was raised in Texas, would only serve as a producer on a future Texas Chainsaw Massacre project.

Sheridan has become a major player in Hollywood thanks to his neo-Western drama series Yellowstone, which ran for five seasons...

"Take a Look at These Different Roles": 'Yellowstone's Cole Hauser Reveals How Close We Came to Someone Else Playing Rip Wheeler
Image
Before he ever stepped into Rip Wheeler’s worn boots, Yellowstone star Cole Hauser was almost someone else entirely in Taylor Sheridan’s hit Western series. As it turns out, fans nearly saw the fan-favorite cowboy played by someone else — or not at all — if Hauser had taken one of the other roles he was originally approached for. In a new interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Hauser looked back at his journey with Yellowstone, reflecting on how the role that would ultimately define his career came about. Initially, co-creator John Linson — who had known Hauser for years — pitched the actor several different roles, including one of John Dutton’s sons.

“John Linson was a friend of mine way before I met Taylor Sheridan. I’ve known him since I was 17 years old. I met him through a buddy of mine. He came to me initially [with Yellowstone] and said, ‘Take a look...

Cole Hauser Shares Update on Rip & Beth ‘Yellowstone’ Spinoff
Image
Yellowstone wrapped up its five-season run on Paramount in 2024, but it wasn’t the end of the line for series standouts Kelly Reilly and Cole Hauser, who will reprise their roles as Beth Dutton and Rip Wheeler, respectively, for an upcoming spinoff. In a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Hauser talked about the highly anticipated spinoff, though he gave no exact date of when fans can expect the series to debut. “I’m excited just like everybody else. I can’t wait to see what they come up with. Hopefully, we’ll start seeing stuff soon,” he said of the project, which is set to focus on Rip and Beth’s relationship. When asked about how he felt continuing on the story without the rest of the cast, Hauser stated, “Not having the cast around certainly [is hard]. Forrie J. Smith [who played Lloyd] has become such a great friend of mine that to...

Yellowstone‘s Rip Wheeler is making some big bucks. The stocky ranch hand-turned-family member, played by Cole Hauser, quickly rose to fame in Taylor Sheridan’s Western show. After nearly three decades of pursuing an acting career, Hauser’s odds began getting bigger and better with this lead role. And he is currently looking to become one of the highest-paid TV actors.

While Hauser’s recent money and fame may come from Yellowstone, it should be noted that Hauser comes from a family of show business. And he is best friends with Matt Damon and Ben Affleck. So, how much did Hauser earn from his last 30 years in the industry?

Cole Hauser Reveals The Yellowstone Role He Was Originally Meant To Play Before Changing Rip's Character
Image
Yellowstonestar Cole Hauser, who played the fan-favorite cowboy Rip Wheeler in all five seasons of the hit Paramount Network show, revealed he was initially approached for a different character in the series. Following Yellowstone's ending in 2024, fans of the Taylor Sheridan-created Western franchise await future spin-offs. 1923 concluded a historic chapter in the Dutton family saga, while The Madison is among the new spin-offs set to premiere in 2026. Another sequel series, focused on Rip Wheeler and Beth Dutton, is also in the works.

Speaking with THR, Cole Hauser spoke about his time on Yellowstone, explaining that the show was originally brought to him by co-creator John Linson. At the time, Linson and Sheridan were considering Hauser to play one of John Dutton's sons, which would have meant Kayce, Jamie, or Lee Dutton. Hauser mentioned that he read the pilot and became fascinated with Rip Wheeler, then spoke to Taylor Sheridan,...

“Hopefully, We’ll Start Seeing Stuff Soon”: ‘Yellowstone’s Cole Hauser Offers Disappointing Beth and Rip Spin-Off Update
Image
It’s been nearly a year since Yellowstone saddled up and rode off into TV history with its 2024 finale, but fans of the Dutton Ranch aren’t done obsessing over Rip and Beth just yet. Unfortunately, according to Cole Hauser, they may need to keep those cowboy boots parked for a little longer. The actor, who made Rip Wheeler a household name (and a tattoo choice for more than a few superfans), recently opened up about his latest cowboy-centric gig — and offered a small but underwhelming update on the highly anticipated Beth and Rip spin-off series. Spoiler: it's still somewhere out on the dusty trail.

Since the Yellowstone finale, he’s partnered with the Professional Bull Riders (Pbr) league, starring in and directing a four-minute short film that premiered during the Pbr World Finals in Fort Worth, Texas. It’s a slick, stylised celebration of cowboy culture — one that Hauser...
