Dolph Lundgren seemed like an unbeatable beast in the film; however, Sylvester Stallone‘s Rocky was able to beat him in the ring. Outside of the ring, they have never gone for a one-to-one match. If they were to compete on their intellect alone, they surprisingly stand equal, that too with a high Iq.
Lundgren has a reported Iq of 160 (via Far Out Magazine). Stallone also has the same Iq, which the two actors share with geniuses like Albert Einstein and Stephen Hawking (via Daily Mail). Stallone attended Miami Dade College before he went off to the American College of Switzerland.
He later took on a drama major at the University of Miami, but didn’t graduate. He got his Bfa degree only in 1998 after the university accepted his acting and life experiences as college credits to graduate. You would get an idea about his intellect when you learn that...

Donnie Darko (2001) Explained: A Journey Through The Director’s Theory: A month after the attack on the World Trade Center on September 11th, 2001, a fiction about the transformative power of small catastrophes reached American cinemas. In the plot, a troubled teenager escapes death when an airplane engine crashes into his bedroom. He then starts to have visions with a large bunny rabbit, which instead of presenting playful fantasy, involves him in a dark and criminal premonition.
The fear and distrust that permeated the scene at the time boycotted Donnie Darko’s debut, but word of mouth caught the attention of Pioneer Theatre in New York, which insisted on showing it for two years. Consequently, rejection gave way to catharsis, soon DVD sales soared and the newest generation of midnight films began deciphering enigmas in broad daylight.

When it comes to The Big Bang Theory, its characters like Sheldon, Leonard, or even Penny that usually come to mind first. However, every now and then, certain moments remind us just how underrated some of the other characters truly were, especially Simon Helberg’s Howard Wolowitz.
If there’s one perfect example, it’s his brilliant and hilarious impressions in the Season 6 episode The Love Spell Potential. The episode is so iconic, it remains one of the most memorable moments of the entire series — and a clear reminder of how Tbbt consistently underutilized Helberg’s talent as both an actor and a comedian.

You can name any iconic British actor and odds are they have starred in the Harry Potter films. Whether in lead roles or as extras, the magical world created by J.K. Rowling was brought to life by English stars, including Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson, and Rupert Grint. So naturally, over the years, the Wizarding World films have been identified as a star-making machine. But recently, fans started associating one American star with Hogwarts.
Turns out, pop sensation Sabrina Carpenter made headlines for her rumored role in the Harry Potter films. Although it’s not known why she sparked such speculation, it is believed that perhaps her rise to stardom as a child actor before becoming a music legend is what led to fans assuming that she had a secret Hogwarts connection. But how true is this? Let’s check out if Carpenter was actually linked to Harry Potter, like several other musicians and actors.

As her latest film Words of War is released, now is your chance to ask about anything from Myra Hindley to Twinkle in Dinnerladies
Maxine Peake’s film career took off as Stephen Hawking’s nurse and second wife in 2014’s The Theory of Everything, in a role that the Guardian’s Peter Bradshaw said she approached “with delicacy”. It was a far cry from Twinkle the snarky dinner lady from Victoria Wood’s sitcom Dinnerladies, but not the first time she portrayed a real-life person. She played Myra Hindley in the 2006 ITV drama See No Evil: The Moors Murders, and the titular 19th-century Yorkshire lesbian landowner in the 2010 BBC period drama The Secret Diaries of Miss Anne Lister.
Peake has done a ton more TV: she played Veronica Ball in Channel 4’s Shameless, Martha Costello in BBC One legal drama Silk, and Grace Middleton in BBC One drama series The Village.

The actor began his career in 2004 when he landed a role as Stephen Hawking in the television feature, Hawking. Since then, Benedict Cumberbatch's career has spanned across numerous different genres, and he's excelled in roles that stretched his acting to new heights. He achieved his biggest breakthrough when he landed the role of the modern detective in the BBC's hit series, Sherlock, starring alongside Martin Freeman's John Watson. What Is The Longest-Running Scripted Primetime Series In The US? (Photo Credit – Hotstar)
When I think about long-running primetime scripted shows, NCIS and Law & Order often come to mind. But there’s a show that blows them all away: The Simpsons (via TV Insider). Clocking in at an incredible 36 years and still going strong, it holds the record for the longest-running scripted primetime series in the U.S.
The Simpsons felt like it was always part of my weekly TV routine. Sure, its later seasons have gotten mixed reviews, but it’s been heavily entertaining and often downright hilarious across nearly four decades.
The Simpsons: Where It All Began
What struck me most was how this dysfunctional Springfield family shaped popular culture. Homer, Marge, Bart, Lisa, and Maggie were literal mirrors reflecting America’s quirks, flaws, and absurdities. After 36 seasons and 790 episodes (at the time of writing), the show’s satirical edge remained sharp,...

Anyone who has even a passing familiarity with "The Big Bang Theory" knows that, until the end of the show's sixth season Raj Koothrappali, played by Kunal Nayyar, can't talk around women. This is chalked up to Raj's selective mutism, which manifests around women due to his utter anxiety ... though the show's writers did add a pretty questionable aspect to this trait in which he can talk to women if he's had a lot to drink. In any case, Raj's selectively mute streak came to an end in the season 6 finale "The Bon Voyage Reaction" after his breakup with Lucy (Kate Micucci), where he cries in Penny's (Kaley Cuoco) arms and talks to her freely and without alcohol for the first time. So how did this all come to pass? In her 2022 book "The Big Bang Theory: The Definitive, Inside...

With the 2025 Sloan Film Summit just around the corner, we want to look back at some of our favorite films that have been supported in the past by the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation. These films are dramas, science fictions, biopics and big budget blockbusters. Yes, they all have science, math, technology, economics or engineering at their core, and this list goes to show just how much storytelling juice you can get out of those topics.
The films on this list show how universal stories about the sciences can be. We all care about nature, we all look up at the stars and wonder and we all love solving a good puzzle. And that’s what the sciences are all about. Both art and science help you understand the world better, just in different ways, and these films prove what you can do when they come together.

The Now You See Me franchise has always been a dazzling mix of magicians, heists, and mind-blowing illusions. The first film introduced us to the Four Horsemen, master illusionists pulling off epic heists while staying one step ahead of the law. Though critics had mixed reviews, the franchise’s slick, stylish vibe and clever twists made it an instant hit.
The sequel kept the magic going, and now, the third installment, Now You See Me: Now You Don’t, is officially in the works! Fans can expect to see familiar faces like Jesse Eisenberg, Woody Harrelson, and Morgan Freeman return, with some exciting new additions. But before we get to the big screen magic, let’s talk about what really disappears: the money! Here’s a look at how the cast stacks up in terms of net worth. Spoiler alert! Motor neuron disease, better known as Als (amyotrophic lateral sclerosis), is a devastating and terminal neurodegenerative disorder for which there is no cure. It's taken the lives of many wonderful people, such as David Niven, Sam Shepard, Ronnie Corbett, Aaron Lazar, Roberta Flack, Kenneth Mitchell, Charles Mingus, John Driskell Hopkins, Stephen Hawking, and Lou Gehrig, whose name has become associated with the disorder. It's a terrifying thing to be diagnosed with, with doctors giving most patients a life expectancy of two or three years (although Hawking famously lived for more than 50 years with it). Today, actor Eric Dane announced his Als diagnosis. "I have been diagnosed with Als,” Dane shared with People, adding:
“I am grateful to have my loving family by my side as we navigate this next chapter. I feel fortunate that I am able to continue working and am looking forward to returning to set of Euphoria...

Eric Dane has revealed he’s been diagnosed with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (Als).
The actor, 52, told People magazine on Thursday, “I have been diagnosed with Als. I am grateful to have my loving family by my side as we navigate this next chapter.”
Als, also known as Lou Gehrig’s disease, is a “nervous system disease that affects nerve cells in the brain and spinal cord. Als causes loss of muscle control. The disease gets worse over time,” according to the Mayo Clinic. There is no cure for the disease.
While Dane didn’t share many details surrounding his diagnosis, the actor — who plays Cal Jacobs, the Jacobs family patriarch on Euphoria — also told People he’s returning to set next week to continue filming season three of the hit HBO show.

Spin-offs have become a common way to extend the life of a beloved television show. And with Stuart Fails to Save the Universe, Chuck Lorre is all set to give new meaning to Kevin Sussman’s Stuart Bloom. But while Sussman is excited for his new project, not every Big Bang actor is eager to see their character in a standalone show.
In an interview, Simon Helberg, who played Howard Wolowitz, shared that he was relieved that no one attempted to make a spin-off of his character.

Most folks agree that "The Simpsons" hasn't been very good for a long time. In recent years, you may have heard that "The Simpsons" is good again or that modern seasons have actually delivered some underrated "Simpsons" episodes. But the reality is that this is a show which has been running for a full 36 seasons at this point, and whatever spin you try to put on it, something went fundamentally awry long ago.
Just when this happened remains a point of debate among fans. There are those that swear "The Simpsons" was only good for a few seasons somewhat early in its run, but most will agree the golden years were somewhere between the third and tenth seasons. Others, this writer included, maintain that the series was good right up until the 12th season, but if this handy chart showing IMDb rankings for each season of "The Simpsons" is anything to go by,...

Gianni Di Gregorio’s modern Italian classic Mid-August Lunch from 2008, about a middle-aged bachelor caring for his ageing mum and other elderly ladies, has inspired this loose remake: a broad comedy amplifying what could be seen as the original’s queer subtext. Despite one or two sweet touches and game performances, it never comes close to matching the gentleness, subtlety and charm of the original.
The action is transferred from Rome to Dublin and the gay theme perhaps effectively replaces the importance of food in the Italian film. James McArdle is Edward, a YA author and gay man on the verge of major literary stardom, for which an upcoming US publicity tour is vitally important. But he has to take care of his widowed mum...

"The Big Bang Theory" played host to a ton of guest stars and supporting players throughout its 12-year and 12-season run, including a whole bunch of "Star Trek" veterans and real-life scientific experts like Stephen Hawking and Bill Nye, just to name a few. To that end, there were also a handful of actors introduced as potential love interests for the main characters, one of whom, Leslie Winkle, was played by Sara Gilbert. But who, exactly, was Leslie, and why did she (and Gilbert) leave the show after its third season?
In Jessica Radloff's book "The Big Bang Theory: The Definitive, Inside Story of the Epic Hit Series," which came out in 2022 and spilled a ton of secrets about the hit show, executive producer Steve Molaro and writer Lee Aronsohn both opened up about Leslie's short-lived time on the show,...

Throughout 12 years and seasons of "The Big Bang Theory," Simon Helberg, the actor who plays Howard Wolowitz, got to show off his considerable talents, from speaking multiple languages to celebrity impressions. So how did Helberg's vocal stylings make it into the show in the first place? In an interview with Vulture after the show's massively successful sixth season wrapped up, executive producer Steve Molaro spoke to the outlet about a handful of topics, including the romance between Sheldon Cooper (Jim Parsons) and Amy Farrah Fowler (Mayim Bialik), the end of Raj Koothrappali's (Kunal Nayyar) selective mutism around women, and Howard's Cage impression from the season's penultimate episode "The Love Spell Potential."
According to Molaro, the crew behind "The Big Bang Theory" knew that Helberg was a dab hand at impressions, so they simply wrote that into the show. "We had heard him do Nicolas Cage and we always thought that was really funny,...

Few living filmmakers have a list of collaborators longer or stranger than Errol Morris: Donald Trump (in perhaps his single most revealing interview), Donald Rumsfeld, Steve Bannon, Stephen Hawking. One wonders what might’ve been learned had he had the opportunity to sit down with Charles Manson, but Morris thinks that, with “Chaos: The Manson Murders,” he’s effectively managed to communicate with the beyond-notorious cult leader across decades and mortality itself.
His film is ostensibly an adaptation of Tom O’Neill’s sensation-stirring 2019 book, but is perhaps closer to a spin or response or what resulted from jumping off one text’s ideas to form another. He tells me this over drinks at MoMA’s restaurant — he had a Campari soda; I got the house red — while “Chaos: The Manson Murders” played downstairs as the closing-night title of this year’s Doc Fortnight.

On a chilly east London evening at the 2025 Brit Awards, U.S. native Sabrina Carpenter opened the night flanked by the King’s Guard.
As always, the “Short n’ Sweet” star dazzled with a sparkling corset bodysuit, impeccable vocals and salacious dance moves (so salacious, in fact, that viewers threatened to complain to the country’s communications regular, Ofcom). Renditions of Espresso and Bed Chem were aptly anglicized by giant union jacks cascading either side of the O2 Arena stage.
The Hollywood Reporter was seated at the U.K.’s biggest music awards show. Later on in the night, Carpenter received the Brits’ first-ever global success award. “In a very primarily tea-drinking country you guys streamed the shit out of Espresso,” she laughed. “And you’ve really understood my dry sense of humor because your sense of humor is so dry. So, I love y’all more than you even understand.

The Big Bang Theory had a very storied tradition of featuring a lot of great actors and celebrities that hold a lot of importance in geek culture in its episodes. Be it Mark Hamill, Will Wheaton, or Stephen Hawking, the cast had the opportunity to co-star with a slew of Hollywood and science legends, but one in particular was a little extra special.

"The Big Bang Theory" seems like an innocent show about lovable nerds, but it's actually pretty provocative at times. For example, one raunchy scene got an entire episode banned in the United Kingdom, and the CBS sitcom was also temporarily outlawed in China for violating a broadcast rules. Chuck Lorre, Billy Prady, Steven Molaro, and Steve Holland's comedy is no stranger to controversy, in other words, so upon learning that some scenes had to be cut, you'd be forgiven for assuming they were too saucy. However, the show's tribute to Stephen Hawking following his passing was removed for practical reasons, and no offense was caused.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, season 11's "The Bow Tie Asymmetry" episode originally included a scene where Sheldon Cooper (Jim Parsons) receives a pocket watch with an engraving that reads, "Sheldon, I'm so glad you finally married Amy. It's about time." Unfortunately, the scene...

British actress Felicity Jones is best known for her versatility and compelling performances in both independent films and major blockbusters. She first gained widespread recognition for her role as Jane Hawking in the 2014 biographical drama The Theory of Everything, portraying the wife of physicist Stephen Hawking (Eddie Redmayne). Her performance earned her critical acclaim and her first career Oscar nomination for Best Actress. In addition, Jones also received a BAFTA bid and won several other prestigious accolades for her portrayal of Hawking’s steadfast and intelligent wife.
After The Theory of Everything, Jones starred in her first big blockbuster, the 2016 “Star Wars” spin-off Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, in which she portrays Jyn Erso, a rebellious leader on a mission to steal the nefarious Galactic Empire’s Death Star plans.
Jones has also appeared in films such as Like Crazy (2011), The Invisible Woman (2013), and biopic On the Basis of Sex...

Brady Corbet’s The Brutalist is among the leading pack of this year’s Oscar nominees with 10 nods, including best director, screenplay, and picture, for which it is probably the current favorite. A real sign of the film’s strength, however, can be found elsewhere in the best supporting actress nomination for Felicity Jones.
There had been some grumbling that awards voters were struggling with the film’s 3-hour and 35-minute run and were missing the movie’s second act, which is also its strongest, when Erzsébet Tóth, played by Felicity Jones, is introduced. Clearly that was wrong.
Jones’ Erzsébet is the wife of László (Adrien Brody), a famed Hungarian architect who has fled Europe for America after the Nazis cease power. Erzsébet was left behind but when she finally arrives in the U.S. her presence complicates a new relationship László has struck with a wealthy benefactor, played by Guy Pearce.

There are few milestones more important for a sitcom than its 100th episode. That's the moment where most shows officially reach syndication status; with over 100 episodes, the network can now play one episode each weekday for the entire year without ever having to repeat, giving casual viewers plenty of chances to get invested (or re-invested) in the show. So, when a series hits its 100th episode, that's a good sign that the amount of money the cast and crew make from residuals is about to increase.
The importance of syndication has declined a bit in the streaming age, where many viewers no longer use cable and therefore are not tuning in to whatever's currently playing. (This was but one of many issues that led to the 2023 writers' strike.) Still, this hasn't stopped a 100th episode of any sitcom from being cause for celebration. If nothing else, it's a big accomplishment...

For 12 years and the same number of seasons, Simon Helberg played Howard Wolowitz — the turtleneck-wearing, would-be lothario who's best friends with Sheldon Cooper (Jim Parsons), Leonard Hofstadter (Johnny Galecki), and Raj Koothrappali (Kunal Nayyar) — so you'd think it would be tough for him to really hone in on his favorite episodes. In an interview with Newsweek in April of 2022 to promote his film "As They Made Us" — directed by Mayim Bialik, who played Sheldon's girlfriend and eventual wife Amy Farrah Fowler and worked alongside Helberg on "The Big Bang Theory" — Helberg said he couldn't really choose a "favorite" episode of the long-running Chuck Lorre sitcom. "I don't have a quick answer for that," Helberg replied when asked about his all-time favorite episode. "I guess the answer is, I don't have a favorite one.

The road to hell may be paved with good intentions, but as several Simpsons fans can attest, the road to cancellation often comes with a pit stop in Springfield.
After processing the horrifying allegations of several types of sexual misconduct — including violent sexual assault — against The Sandman author Neil Gaiman, some Simpsons viewers began grappling with the writer’s legacy in the literary world, our culture as a whole and, of course, his minor role in the long-running animated series.
“I guess Gaiman will never be back on The Simpsons. Also, will Disney+ erase that ep now?” asked one fan, while another joked that this could possibly be the series’ darkest prediction yet.
But Gaiman is far from the first visitor to Springfield to land in hot water after a Simpsons stint, nor will he likely be the last. Among questions of whether or not “The Book Job” will go...

Best known for the comic book series The Sandman, Neil Gaiman is a celebrated figure in the literary world, with a diverse body of work that spans novels, children’s books, graphic novels, short stories, and poetry.

As a franchise spanning multiple television series since 1966, Star Trek has brought countless memorable guest stars over the decades. However, not all guest stars are created equal, with several standing as clear highlights in their respective episodes. Whether it's one-and-done appearances or informal recurring roles, effective guest stars quickly are embraced as fan-favorites. In fact, some connect with the cast, crew, and audience so well, they've inadvertently steered the course of the franchise.
A great guest star gels seamlessly with the main cast and naturally elevates the story that they're appearing in. Rather than simply feeling like stunt casting, a guest role feels like an organic addition to the Star Trek franchise. For the purposes of this article, stars appearing on this list do not include actors who have appeared as series regulars on other Star Trek shows. Here are the 15 best guest stars on Star Trek, ranked in descending order.

Chuck Lorre and Bill Prady's 2007 sitcom "The Big Ban Theory" was hotly contested when it was on the air. In the early 2000s, certain kinds of "geek" interests moved from the cultural fringe directly into the mainstream, and previously derided niche interests like "Dungeons & Dragons," comic books, long-form video games, astronomy, trivia, and fantasy in general all became widely accepted as a new entertainment zeitgeist. New kinds of kid-acceptable pop artists came to be canonized. The geek ecosystem was widespread and easily available to any curious takers.
"The Big Bang Theory," however, was lambasted by some viewers for its inaccurate portrayals of modern-day geeks. The characters on "Big Bang" were all scientists or intellectuals, and they all loved "Star Wars," comic books, and RPGs, but they didn't talk the way geeks talked, nor did they organically celebrate geek culture. "The Big Bang Theory" relied too heavily on outdated...

When Matt Groening's "The Simpsons" debuted during the Christmas season of 1989, it was an immediate sensation. Some fans might have known the Simpsons characters from their appearances on "The Tracey Ullman Show," and readers of local indie newspapers likely knew of Groening's "Life in Hell" comic strip, but for most audiences, "The Simpsons" was a bolt from the blue. It was an anti-sitcom, a surreal show with weirdly designed characters (yellow skin?) that satirized and deconstructed the middle-class wholesomeness of mainstream 1980s television. It was an antidote to the ultra-conservative "family values" crowd that was so noisy during the Reagan administration. And audiences were ready for it.
"The Simpsons" started big and only got bigger. The year 1990 was big for pop culture, as "The Simpsons" -- along with shows like "Seinfeld" and "Married... with Children" -- undid old tropes and invented new ones. One might even be so bold...

Star Trek: The Next Generation was graced with the presence of one of the greatest minds in science. In the sixth season episode, titled Descent Part 1, Stephen Hawking appeared in the opening sequence. Interestingly, Hawking first mentioned his desire to star in one of The Next Generation episodes to Og Star Trek star Leonard Nimoy.

Nimoy then conveyed this message to the executive producer of the series Rick Berman, who wasted no time in contacting Hawking’s team. What followed was a scene in the series where Hawking played a simulated version of himself alongside Brent Spiner and actors playing Albert Einstein and Isaac Newton.

At the risk of sounding like Nicole Kidman: We all know the feelings that unite an audience in a movie theater. Yet when I went to see the rereleased “Interstellar,” I was struck by a new feeling. Taking my seat in front of the IMAX screen at the AMC Lincoln Square, I was honestly shocked to see that at a 2:45 p.m. Friday showing of a 10-year-old movie, an incredibly large theater, with dramatic banked seating — the only true IMAX theater in Manhattan — was totally packed.
This was the kickoff of the film’s second weekend. (Last weekend it took in a neat $4.6 million on 165 screens.) And before the movie had even started, it struck me that those of us in the audience were already profoundly united in wanting to reexperience “Interstellar.” There were some, of course, who had never seen it. Yet this was basically a revival...

[This story contains major spoilers from the finale of The Day of the Jackal.]
Oscar winner Eddie Redmayne says he was initially reluctant to join The Day of the Jackal when he was first approached.
“I loved the original movie and the Frederick Forsyth book. So when the first three scripts arrived in my inbox, there was a level of hesitation because you don’t want to butcher something you love,” Redmayne tells The Hollywood Reporter.
But he was sold once he realized that Peacock and Sky had modernized Fred Zinnemann’s classic 1973 big screen adaptation. “I read the first episode or two of this series and I found it so propulsive and compelling and the character so enigmatic, that I just wanted to know what happened next,” says Redmayne.
What’s more, the first season finale, which released on Thursday night, had an appealing surprise twist: Redmayne’s Jackal would kill Bianca Pullman (played by Lashana Lynch in...
