Richard Hawkins is a film director and screenwriter. His first screenplay, the internationally successful 'The Theory Of Flight', co-produced by both the BBC and Miramax, was directed by Paul Greengrass (Bourne Ultimatum, Captain Philips) and starred Kenneth Branagh and Helena Bonham Carter. The film opened the Toronto International Film Festival.
Working with Greengrass throughout the production, Hawkins continued his directorial education by then spending a year working closely alongside the acclaimed, Oscar-winning Polish director Pawel Pawlikowski (My Summer of Love, Aida). His own directorial debut came with the enormously well-received 'Everything' , starring Ray Winstone.This entirely independently produced feature went on to win several international awards including a BAFTA nomination for Hawkins himself.
Hawkins has also worked extensively as a re-writer in both London and New York.
