Unsolved Mysteries' Patrick Mullins Suicide Theory Doesn't Make Sense
Image
Warning: This article includes discussion of suicide and descriptions of graphic violence.

Warning: The following contains Spoilers for Unsolved Mysteries volume 3, episode 7, "Body in the Bay."The theory proposed by the Manatee County Sheriff’s Office that the death of Patrick Mullins was suicide profiled in the Unsolved Mysteries volume 3 episode "Body in the Bay" makes no sense. The question of Mullins' death has been hotly contested by the investigating officials and Mullins' family, who believe that Mullins was murdered. The one point both sides agree upon is how strange Patrick Mullins' death was.

A librarian and experienced boater, Patrick Mullins was last seen piloting his boat on the river near his home, at around 3 Pm on Sunday, January 27, 2013. A manhunt began when Mullins didn't return home that evening, leading to the discovery of his boat two days later, and his body nine days later, in another location. The Manatee County...

Was Patrick Mullins Murdered? All Evidence In Unsolved Mysteries Explained
Image
Warning: This article includes discussion of suicide, crime scene photos, and descriptions of graphic violence.

Warning: The following contains Spoilers for Unsolved Mysteries volume 3, episode 7, "Body in the Bay."The "Body in the Bay" episode of Unsolved Mysteries volume 3 submits compelling evidence that Patrick Mullins was murdered. A native of Manatee County, Florida, Mullins was last seen piloting his boat at around 3 pm on Sunday, January 27, 2013. While his boat was found two days later with the engine still running near Egmont Key, over nine days would pass before Mullins' body would be recovered from the Manatee River, tied to a 25-pound anchor.

While the results of Mullins' autopsy declared the circumstances of his death to be “undetermined,” the Manatee County Sheriff's Office believes that Patrick Mullins died by suicide. This theory is strongly rejected by Mullins' wife and sons, who believe that the evidence of the case strongly suggests that Patrick Mullins was murdered.

Scarlet Waters 5 Showcases Genre Films (and Musicians Too)
Austin genre showcase Scarlet Waters held its fifth iteration last weekend in Central Austin showcasing some great worldwide filmmaking and musical talent. The event served as the backdrop for the fifth birthday of Twitchy Dolphin Flix, Austin's prolific microbudget film company.

A few of the filmmakers, including Mike Donis from Toronto, spent part of the day talking to aspiring film students from a local middle school. Donis said he "loves talking to the kids." This was his second year visiting with Austin-area students. He enjoys the chance to let kids know that they can make movies, as long as they work hard.

Opening the weekend festivities, Twitchy Dolphin Flix held a music showcase of some of the talented artists who have helped make the Twitchy films so dynamic. Lauren Hayes, Clif Haley, Jon English and Brandon Whitlan took the Stompin' Ground Lounge's stage and entertained the energized crowd. The night...

'3 References' Production Diary: Days 9-11
James Christopher is directing the new Twitchy Dolphin Flix film 3 References. Check Slackerwood for his updates as the shooting continues.

There are so many reasons why this has been one of the best shoots we've had in our five-year history. Driving home after another 14+ hour day last night, it hit me. I think a big part of it is attributed to the new blood. We at Twitchy have always prided ourselves on building a troupe mentality and we are dedicated to growing with the same collaborators, but the influx of new energy and ideas cannot be understated.

What began as a last-minute change in the lead gave us Harper Graham and her performance has been beautiful and vulnerable. Just fantastic. Cassidy Schiltz, Lauren Hayes, Mike Williams, Sasha Aimee, Lacey Hernandez, Alicia Dufour, Andrea Dettling and a slew of others have melded nicely with the old Twitchy guard to really create some memorable performances.

We at Twitchy Dolphin are about to start our new feature film, 3 References. It's our eighth project since we started the company and like every project, we like to start out the new film with a bang. Shortly before production officially began, we held our third Twitchy Palooza. Twitchy Palooza is a concert event that we throw to highlight some of the artists that so generously donate their music to our flicks. The event also served as the DVD launch for the award-winning film Look At Me Again.

Folks braved the nasty rain to see some great acts. 3 References cast member Lauren Hayes made her singer-songwriter debut and wowed the crowd with her beautiful voice. Brandon Whitlan, whose music appeared in the recently premiered Turkey Day, took the...
