Andy Samberg’s Digman! Season 2 premiere swings to a later date in July after South Park shuffle at Comedy Central
Image
If you’re craving more adventures with Andy Samberg‘s Rip Digman, you’ll need to wait a little longer for the antics to begin. The release date shift for Digman! Season 2 comes after Comedy Central pushed the Season 27 premiere date of South Park from July 9 to July 23. The sophomore season of Digman! will do the same, with the animated series created by Samberg and Neil Campbell debuting on Wednesday, July 23 at 10:30 p.m.

Digman! takes place in a world where archaeologists are massive celebrities and the coolest people on the planet. Andy Samberg voices Rip Digman, the protagonist with an explorer’s spirit, Nathan Drake’s dashing good looks, and Frank Drebin’s knack for stumbling into disaster. Samberg wrote and produced Season 1, and a cast of familiar voices return for Digman! Season 2!

Andy Samberg’s ‘Digman!’ Season 2 Premiere Pushed to Follow Delayed ‘South Park’ Season 27
Image
Where South Park goes, Digman! follows — literally.

The season two premiere of Andy Samberg’s Digman! is being pushed out two weeks to Wednesday, July 23, just like the season 27 premiere of South Park. Digman! airs in Comedy Central’s 10:30 p.m. time slot, immediately after South Park at 10.

South Park’s season 27 premiere was delayed on Wednesday. The news came amid a streaming-rights battle between the creators, Trey Parker and Matt Stone, and the channel’s parent company, Paramount Global.

Parker and Stone are not happy about the delay, and they made that known.

“In response to the press release from Comedy Central about the change in premiere date for South Park Trey Parker & Matt Stone said — ‘This merger is a shitshow and it’s fucking up South Park. We are at the studio working on new episodes and we hope the fans get to see them somehow,’” a...

‘Digman’ Season 2 Release Date Pushed Back at Comedy Central Alongside ‘South Park’
Image
The Comedy Central animated series “Digman!” is the latest show to shift its premiere at the basic cabler.

The second season of “Digman!” was slated to debut on July 9, but it will now premiere two weeks later on July 23 at 10:30 p.m. Et/Pt. The move keeps the series in line with the launch of Season 27 of “South Park,” which also recently shifted its premiere date to July 23.

No sign yet that the “Digman!” creators are planning to release a statement to address the move, but “South Park’s” Trey Parker and Matt Stone had plenty to say, particularly regarding the Paramount-Skydance merger. In a statement posted online shortly after the premiere date move was announced, Parker and Stone said, “This merger is a shit show and it’s fucking up ‘South Park.’ We are at the studio working on new episodes and we hope the fans get to see them somehow.

The 87% Score Doesn’t Excuse the Fact That Dennis Quaid’s Character Plays the Victim While Wrecking Lives
Image
Dennis Quaid played the male lead in the 2002 Todd Haynes film Far from Heaven. While the film mainly centered on Julian Moore’s Cathy, her husband Frank, played by Quaid, also had a significant contribution to the film’s controversial themes. The film explores Cathy and Frank’s life in 1950s suburban Connecticut, when their marriage seems to fall apart.

Quaid’s character’s homosexuality is one of the central themes in a film that also deals with racism, miscegenation, and escapism. While the nature and how these issues are addressed gained critical acclaim, fans might have overlooked one issue with the portrayal of Quaid’s character.

How Heat's Legendary Diner Scene Came Together, According To Director Michael Mann Himself
Image
We may receive a commission on purchases made from links.

This year marks the 30th anniversary of Michael Mann's classic crime thriller "Heat," which famously saw legendary actors Al Pacino and Robert De Niro appear in the same scene together for the first time despite having previously co-starred in "The Godfather Part II." The "Heat" diner scene, in which Pacino's world-weary cop, Vincent Hanna, sits down across from De Niro's stoic thief, Neil McCauley, has been an obsession for a certain type of cinephile for years, and has been the subject of homages from across the film and TV spectrum, including most recently in "Daredevil: Born Again." Before the closing night screening of "Heat" at the 2025 TCM Classic Film Festival, Pacino and writer/director Michael Mann participated in a Q&a where they spoke about that moment and how it felt on set at the time.

Send Help: Sam Raimi horror thriller has wrapped production
Rachel McAdams
Back in October, we heard that Rachel McAdams was in talks to reteam with Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness director Sam Raimi on the 20th Century Studios horror thriller Send Help, which Raimi would be producing and directing. McAdams was quickly joined in the cast by Dylan O’Brien (The Maze Runner), Chris Pang (Interior Chinatown), and Dennis Haysbert (24). Filming began in early February – and now it has been revealed that production has wrapped, with the film on track for a January 30th, 2026 theatrical release!

In 2007, it was rumored that Sam Raimi would be producing a fantasy film with a screenplay written by Freddy vs. Jason and Friday the 13th 2009 writers Damian Shannon and Mark Swift. That didn’t pan out, but a decade later Raimi considered directing a Bermuda Triangle project that once had Shannon and Swift working on the script. Again, that didn’t pan out, with...

10 Best TV Shows Like Hulu's Paradise
Image
There may be trouble in "Paradise," but that's just how we like it. The hit Hulu series (created by "This Is Us" showrunner Dan Fogelman) landed on the streamer in 2025 to positive reviews and much buzz, quickly making a case for itself as one of James Marsden's best TV shows ever. The "X-Men" alum plays slain U.S. President Cal Bradford, whose sudden death sends Secret Service agent Xavier Collins (Sterling K. Brown) on a winding mystery through a post-apocalyptic America.

Along the way, Xavier comes across hidden clues, government secrets, and deep state conspiracies, all hallmarks of a story rooted in a subgenre that is perhaps the guiltiest of pleasures -- the speculative political thriller. Stories under this umbrella can just as easily be titillating, smartly written, and dramatically engrossing as they are oblivious, self-important, and totally ridiculous. Sometimes, a story can be all these things at once,...

Wtf Happened to Sin City: A Dame to Kill For?
Image
In 2005, Robert Rodriguez changed the way we looked at comic book movies forever with Sin City, his picture-perfect adaptation of Frank Miller’s graphic novel series. Such a passion project it was for Rodriguez that he even resigned from the Director’s Guild so he could share directing credit with Miller himself. The movie was a box office success, making $158 million worldwide off a $40 million budget, but more importantly, it gave us a thrillingly unique example of how green-screen technology could be utilized – put simply, you’d never seen a graphic novel come to life quite like this. Naturally, with a wealth of Sin City material still available to them, Rodriguez and Miller would want to make a sequel to their hit movie. And they did, although it took a whole lot longer to come to life than anyone initially expected. Hope you’re ready to travel back to that...

10 Times ‘SNL’ Cast Members Just Couldn’t Keep It Together
Image
It’s rumored that “Saturday Night Live” creator Lorne Michaels hates it when the show’s sketch comedians break character on air. Fortunately, that hasn’t stopped it from happening countless times over the NBC series’ 50-year history. Everyone from Bill Hader and Kristen Wiig to Kate McKinnon and even Will Ferrell have all stumbled into their own moments of out-of-character laughter.

In honor of “SNL’s” 50th anniversary special this Sunday, here are 10 of the best times that the show’s cast couldn’t keep it together.

Pete Davidson in “Uncle Ben”

The funniest moment of “Uncle Ben,” a 2020 sketch about a group of Black brand figures like Aunt Jemima (Maya Rudolph) being fired after being deemed culturally insensitive, is born out of a seemingly unscripted moment. Having already cracked up himself, Dave Chappelle decided to turn his sights on cast member Pete Davidson, who appears in “Uncle Ben” as Count Chocula.

Send Help: Dennis Haysbert joins Sam Raimi horror thriller
Image
Back in October, we heard that Rachel McAdams was in talks to reteam with Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness director Sam Raimi on the 20th Century Studios horror thriller Send Help, which Raimi will be producing and directing. Since then, McAdams has been joined in the cast by Dylan O’Brien (The Maze Runner) and Chris Pang (Interior Chinatown). Now, Deadline reports that Dennis Haysbert (24) has also landed a role in the film – but details on the character he’ll be playing have not been revealed.

Back in 2007, it was rumored that Sam Raimi would be producing a fantasy film with a screenplay written by Freddy vs. Jason and Friday the 13th 2009 writers Damian Shannon and Mark Swift. That didn’t pan out, but a decade later Raimi considered directing a Bermuda Triangle project that once had Shannon and Swift working on the script. Again, that didn’t pan out,...

Sam Raimi at an event for Spider-Man 2 (2004)
Director Sam Raimi is making his long-awaited return to horror with Send Help, and Deadline reports that Golden Globe nominee Dennis Haysbert (No Exit) has joined the cast.

Haysbert joins previously announced cast members Rachel McAdams, Dylan O’Brien, and Chris Pang.

The upcoming 20th Century Studios project follows “two colleagues (O’Brien and McAdams) who become stranded on a deserted island, the only survivors of a plane crash. On the island, they must overcome past grievances and work together to survive, but ultimately, it’s a battle of wills and wits to make it out alive.”

Character details, of course, are under wraps at this time.

Haysbert is perhaps best known for his role in popular TV series “24”, which earned him a Golden Globe nomination in 2002. The actor more recently appeared in Hulu’s intense thriller No Exit, and also does expansive voice acting work with credits including Masters of the Universe: Revelation...

Billy Magnussen, Sarah Goldberg to Lead AMC's Silicon Valley Series
Image
Hollywood is coming for Silicon Valley, and Billy Magnussen and Sarah Goldberg are leading the charge. The two actors have been cast as the leads in AMC and AMC+'s new tech-centric drama series by writer Jonathan Glatzer. It is just one of several series aimed at dressing down the insular Northern California tech world that's being shopped and/or developed around town at the moment, but it is the first one to get greenlit so far this season.

Both Magnussen and Goldberg — perhaps most well known for their time leading the HBO series The Franchise and Barry, respectively — will play central characters in the as-yet-untitled series from the Succession and Better Call Saul writer, as it is being reported by Deadline. The show's central conflict will center around a rift between the self-stylized "inventor of the future" tech CEO of a data mining company (Billy Magnussen) and his self-serving...

The Correct Order To Watch Kiefer Sutherland's 24 Franchise
Image
Joel Surnow's and Robert Cochran's espionage series "24" debuted on November 6, 2001, and boy howdy was American ready for it. "24" followed the travails and missions of a special law enforcement agency called the Counter-Terrorist Unit and focused primarily on its ethics-optional star agent Jack Bauer (Kiefer Sutherland). Every season of "24" revealed that evil international terrorists had secured some kind of doomsday device and Jack Bauer had to run around Los Angeles locating baddies, torturing them for information, and kicking in whatever heads needed kicking.

The show took off in popularity, largely because it matched the politics of the time. It debuted only a month after 9/11, and the "get the terrorists" rhetoric of the George W. Bush administration was already proliferating into entertainment. Americans had a lot of militant anger, and TV violence took on a darker edge. "24" was maybe the purest example of the way pop...

How The Late, Great Bob Uecker Changed Baseball Movies Forever
Image
When David S. Ward's "Major League" slid into multiplexes on April 7, 1989, a lot of people wrote it off as a pro baseball clone of the minor-league-set "Bull Durham." A wise veteran catcher (Tom Berenger) with bad knees looking down the barrel of a forced retirement? Check. A screwy rookie pitcher (Charlie Sheen) with a flamethrower for an arm and no semblance of control? Check. A superstitious slugger (Dennis Haysbert) who demands to sacrifice a live chicken to get him out of a hitting slump? Check.

The very existence of these familiar elements was enough for many of the nation's critics to dismiss "Major League" as a meatheaded comedy. Moviegoers did not concur. The film grossed $50 million in the U.S. on an $11 million budget, and earned an A- CinemaScore before turning into a home video/pay cable sensation. By the time the next baseball season rolled around, "Major League" was considered a full-fledged,...

Lost & Found in Cleveland Review: Capturing the Spirit of a City
Image
In “Lost & Found in Cleveland,” the backdrop of an antique show serves as both a catalyst for personal revelations and a reflection of a city struggling with its identity. A wide range of characters, each with hopes and fears, are introduced to us in the film. Dennis Haysbert’s mailman wants to open a restaurant to honor his late mother, and Stacy Keach and June Squibb play an older couple stuck in the twilight of their lives, tied together by memories and the fragility of time.

The characters are propelled toward a shared moment of reckoning as the narrative progresses by the impending arrival of the fictional appraisal show, which builds a palpable tension. The bringing together of these storylines is marked by several heartfelt interactions, like the touching scene where Keach’s character, stuck between the glories of the past and the realities of the present, faces his deteriorating memory.

The Cast of ‘Holidazed’ Explains Their Tangled Family Ties in Hilarious Hallmark+ Series (Video)
Image
There goes the neighborhood… and here comes our favorite new thing: The Christmas miniseries. In Holidazed, the joyful eight-episode gift of an ensemble comedy that just dropped its first two episodes on November 14, Dennis Haysbert, Erin Cahill, Holland Roden, Ian Harding, John C. McGinley, Lindy Booth, Loretta Devine, Lucille Soong, Nazneen Contractor, Noemí González, Osric Chau, Rachelle Lafevre, Ser’Darius Blain, and Virginia Madsen sparkle as the residents of a busy cul-de-sac preparing for Santa’s big day. Some are merry, some are grinchy, but they’re all weathering this wild season together. And when we say “weathering,” we mean that both figuratively and literally. You’ve got Chrismukkah crises, secret beaus, bossy grandmothers, even a high-school mean girl making her former classmate miserable by becoming part of her family… and a possibly problematic forecast that seems set to bring all of these folks together. The project is an inspired idea that quite frankly,...

10 Missing Dark Tower Movie Characters Mike Flanagan's TV Show Should Include
Image
The Dark Tower movie was missing many key characters from the Stephen King novels who need to be in the upcoming series adaptation. Mike Flanagan's Dark Tower show is currently in development and is planned to adapt all the installments in The Dark Tower series. The 2017 movie was not a direct adaptation of the novels, instead acting as a sequel that only loosely adapted some of the characters and events from the source material. This approach was not received well, with the movie holding a 16% critical score and a 44% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes.

The only major Dark Tower characters who appeared in the movie were Roland Deschain (Idris Elba), Jake Chambers (Tom Taylor), and one of Stephen King's best villains, Walter Padick, also known as the Man in Black, who was played by Matthew McConaughey. A few other book characters appeared, including Roland's father, Steven Deschain (Dennis Haysbert). However,...
