[Warning: The below contains Major spoilers for FBI: International Season 3 Episode 11 “Touts.”] The Fly Team is saying goodbye to its boss after the latest FBI: International episode, so how was Scott Forrester (Luke Kleintank) written out? The short answer is simple: He wasn’t. Instead, the episode is very much about Smitty (Eva-Jane Willis) and her family, with the case bringing her back in contact with her mother (Pippa Haywood) and eventually leading to a major revelation: Her biological father is her mother’s friend Niall (Patrick Bergin). For Forrester, meanwhile, it’s very much business as usual, trying to get information out of MI5 for the case. There isn’t any kind of exit or even hint as to what will take him away from the Fly Team (which leads us to believe that our last theory here could hold water). But this tracks with what Willis had told TV Insider ahead of the episode. She said that it ...

[Warning: The below contains Major spoilers for FBI: International Season 3 Episode 11 “Touts.”] Megan “Smitty” Garretson’s (Eva-Jane Willis) professional and personal lives collide in the latest FBI: International episode, and by the end, she’s in for quite the revelation. Following the murder of a former member of the Irish Republican Army (Ira)-turned-u.S. citizen, the Fly Team investigates, and Smitty reunites with her mother (Pippa Haywood), whose friend Niall (Patrick Bergin) ends up being vital to the case (and Smitty). He wears a wire to get their suspect to admit to the crimes, that he gave Smitty her nickname (she was obsessed with Smarties when she was 3 but called them Smitties), and turns out to be her biological father, as she realizes on her own and has him confirm. Below, Willis discusses that shocking reveal, finding out how her character got her nickname, and more, and teases the last two episodes of the season. (This was also Luke ...

Cult classic sitcom Green Wing has been resurrected as a podcast with the original cast and creative team.
Back in 2004, fresh from the success of sketch show Smack The Pony, writer Victoria Pile created Green Wing, a sitcom set in a hospital.
With an ensemble cast that included Tamsin Greig and Stephen Mangan – who would later reunite to star opposite Matt LeBlanc in Episodes – the comedy is helped enormously by committed clowning the cast, particularly Mark Heap and Michelle Gomez. The show ran for two series from 2004 to 2006 and, in a move more in common with American sitcoms, had a large pool of writers.
After the show ended, the same creative team made the terrific University comedy Campus in 2009, which despite only running for one series is well worth tracking down, especially for the tour de force performance from Andy Nyman as megalomaniacal monster and Vice Chancellor Jonty De Wolfe.

Kate Winslet is striking fear into the hearts of her not-so-loyal subjects in HBO‘s The Regime teaser trailer. From Will Tracy and Frank Rich, the complex minds behind Succession, comes a limited series about power, corruption, and subterfuge.
The Regime “tells the story of one year within the walls of the palace of a modern European regime as it begins to unravel.”

It is time to show America and the world precisely what we are worth,” Winslet’s Chancellor says in The Regime teaser trailer while addressing a crowd, asserting her authority. The vibes in the room quickly become hostile, eliciting fear and confusion about who’s in charge of the population’s wellbeing.

Kate Winslet plays a violent and oblivious dictator in the trailer for The Regime, an upcoming HBO satire series. When she last headlined a series for the prestige cable channel, Winslet garnered waves of praise for helping to reinvigorate the tropes of the small town murder-mystery with Mare of Easttown, winning an Emmy and a Golden Globe for her lead performance as a local detective who can barely manage the competing strains of her professional and personal life.
The Oscar winner now takes on a very different kind of starring role, as seen in the trailer for The Regime, which was formerly known by its working title The Palace.
In the trailer, which was unveiled at the presentation of the rebranded Max streaming service, Winslet's character takes center stage. At one point, she asks that her people need to be respected, and in response, she's told that she needs to demonstrate credibility.

HBO and Kate Winslet’s fruitful creative relationship will continue with The Regime, a limited series set to premiere in 2024. The premium cabler released a teaser for the series Wednesday at a Warner Bros. Discovery press event.
Formerly titled The Palace, the series from Succession writer and executive producer Will Tracy tells the story of a year inside the palace of a “modern European regime” as it starts to unravel. (That description is a slight tweak from an earlier logline that called the government in question “an authoritarian regime.”)
The teaser mostly focuses on a meeting between Winslet’s chancellor and a U.S. emissary played by Martha Plimpton. “We need you to demonstrate credibility to us — trustworthiness,” Plimpton’s character says.
“All we are doing is realizing our dream — our dream of a new Europe, without limits, without cruelty. There are times when one must choose the hardest road.

Kate Winslet is striving for more than just world peace as she sets her mind on crafting a “new Europe” as Madame Chancellor in HBO’s new political drama “The Regime.”
The official teaser, which was revealed during Warner Bros. Discovery’s unveiling of the Max streaming service Wednesday, showcases a tense confrontation between Winslet and an American diplomat (Martha Plimpton) who attempts to convince the chancellor the U.S. would like to help “enhance” Winslet’s authority in the region — a goal that was, evidently, not pressing enough that the President could attend the meeting.
“All we are doing is realizing our dream, our dream of a new Europe, without limits, without cruelty,” the chancellor says as she engages in, shall we say, less dignified actions to get her point across, including punching an unknown victim. “There are times when one must choose the hardest road; I have chosen...

A mother’s love can move mountains. It must in the case of Paul Dood (Tom Meeten) since he doesn’t really have anything else propelling him forward. Did he aspire to be a superstar? No. He merely asked his mom (June Watson’s Julie) if she thought he had what it took while watching an episode of Britain’s Got Talent. She of course said yes. She said he was “better than anyone else on that show.” Love is blind, though, and unwittingly creates lies—Paul is hardly a Susan Boyle with talent to spare if someone would simply give him a chance. He’s not even a William Hung earning views for second-hand embarrassment. He’s lucky to get three viewers per stream: Mum, Clemmie (Katherine Parkinson), and Bruce (Jarred Christmas).

Chicago – Stars are a concept that I don’t think I will ever understand. Giant celestial bodies of gas and fire that burn and shine with an unimaginable intensity. Their spherical appearance masks a double-edge that can both bring and sustain life, or out-right end it. Love is much the same way, simultaneously nurturing us up until the moment it isn’t.
Although Supernova doesn’t take us on the incredible interstellar adventure its title suggests, the grounded, emotional journey is still otherworldly.
Rating: 4.0/5.0
When I say that there is a journey to be had, I don’t mean that in the purely figurative sense. There are 2 men, 1 dog, an old Rv, and the open road driving us through emotional exposition. The road that we find ourselves on feels familiar but comfortable. There is nothing remarkable about the themes explored, on even the narrative vehicle (not to be confused with...

"I want to be remembered for who I was... and not who I'm about to become." Bleecker Street Media has released an official US trailer for the indie romantic drama Supernova, the second feature from filmmaker Harry Macqueen (Hinterland). This initially premiered last year at the San Sebastian Film Festival last year and already opened in the UK, earning some rave reviews. Starring Colin Firth and Stanley Tucci and from the award-winning producers of 45 Years comes an intimate and modern love-story. Sam and Tusker are partners of 20 years, who are traveling across England in their old Rv visiting friends, family and places from their past. Since Tusker was diagnosed with early-onset dementia two years ago, their time together is the most important thing they have. Also starring James Dreyfus, Lori Campbell, Pippa Haywood, Ian Drysdale, Nina Marlin, and Sarah Woodward. I'm still really looking forward to watching this, it seems...

We have the first trailer for Supernova. In a typical year, something like this might instantly be finding itself in the awards season conversation. It sees a pair of celebrated actors in Stanely Tucci and Colin Firth leading the way in director Harry Macqueen's (Hinterland) sophomore feature. But this is no typical year and who knows what awards season will look like. In any event, based on what we're seeing in the first trailer, this looks to be a powerful and emotional tale of romantic love.
It opens up with Stanley Tucci and Colin Firth's characters, who are in a long-term romantic relationship with one another, taking a road trip with one another. It all seems pleasant and charming, at least at first. We come to find that one of them has a debilitating disease, which leads to emotions running hot. But that appears to merely be the tip of the iceberg.

"No offense, but none of you lot look like the killing type." Vision Films has unveiled the official Us trailer for an alternative history drama about crime writer Agatha Christie getting embroiled in a real-life murder case during her 11-day disappearance in 1926. The film is titled Agatha and the Truth of Murder, and originally premiered on TV in the UK in late 2018. It's not slated for release in the Us in the fall of this year. With a script by Tom Dalton (The Pharmacist), set in 1926, the film depicts Agatha Christie investigating the murder of Florence Nightingale's goddaughter and how her involvement in this case then influenced her writing. Ruth Bradley stars as Agatha Christie, with a cast including Dean Andrews, Bebe Cave, Amelia Dell, Richard Doubleday, Derek Halligan, Blake Harrison, Pippa Haywood, Stacha Hicks, and Ralph Ineson. It looks suitably mysterious and alluring, no doubt. Here's the official trailer...
