Even in a machine as massive as Hollywood, there's a finite pool of great talent when it comes to specific genres, and proving yourself as one of the experts in one field is likely to yield more work on similar shows. That's why actors who earned their chops on procedurals tend to keep appearing on one procedural drama after another. It's also why it's not uncommon to see established sitcom actors resurface on brand new comedy shows after they (and their old series with them) have spent some time away from the spotlight.
Usually, this is a case of individual actors entering a new show where they're surrounded by a combo cast of veterans from other series and perhaps a newcomer or two, with the ingredients combining to form a fresh new talent salad. However, there are exceptions, like the actor flow from "Roseanne" to "The Big Bang Theory." While...

In the fourth-ever episode of "The Big Bang Theory," we meet Sheldon Cooper's (Jim Parsons) mother, Mary Cooper, who's played by Laurie Metcalf and provides a very strong contrast to her science-minded son. So, how did Metcalf even get involved with Chuck Lorre and Bill Prady's beloved CBS sitcom? According to Jessica Radloff's 2022 book "The Big Bang Theory: The Definitive, Inside Story of the Epic Hit Series," it all comes back to "Roseanne."
Both Chuck Lorre and one of his stars, Johnny Galecki — who plays Sheldon's best friend Leonard Hofstadter on "The Big Bang Theory" — worked on "Roseanne" in different capacities; Lorre wrote for the sitcom, while Galecki appeared as David Healy in a recurring role throughout its run. Lorre, as Radloff reveals, asked Galecki to reach out to Metcalf, and the rest, I suppose, is history.

The whole universe just re-entered a hot, dense state. Johnny Galecki and Kaley Cuoco, co-stars of The Big Bang Theory, reunited in a new commercial for the mobile video game Royal Kingdom.
In a video shared by the Royal Kingdom Instagram account, fans get 60 seconds of screen-time with Cuoco and Galecki in the Royal Kingdom advert. The commercial sees the actors, who played Leonard and Penny Hofstadter, looking forward to a typical board game night before Galecki suggests Royal Kingdom as an alternative.

Our whole universe is in a hot, tense state right now. Thankfully, Kaley Cuoco and Johnny Galecki have reunited to give us something to smile about.

In the 60-second ad, Cuoco is looking forward to a good ol’ fashion game night, but Galecki suggests they ditch their board games and play the aforementioned mobile game.

"The Big Bang Theory" played host to a ton of guest stars and supporting players throughout its 12-year and 12-season run, including a whole bunch of "Star Trek" veterans and real-life scientific experts like Stephen Hawking and Bill Nye, just to name a few. To that end, there were also a handful of actors introduced as potential love interests for the main characters, one of whom, Leslie Winkle, was played by Sara Gilbert. But who, exactly, was Leslie, and why did she (and Gilbert) leave the show after its third season?

With less than two weeks left until Season 7 of The Conners lands on ABC, a few character updates have circulated, preparing fans for what’s coming. Most recently, TVLine confirmed that three cast members who also appeared in the original sitcom, Roseanne, will sadly not be a part of the follow-up’s upcoming season. This includes Johnny Galecki, Michael Fishman, and Estelle Parsons, who portray David Healy, DJ Conner, and Beverly “Bev” Harris, respectively.

Although The Conners season 7 will end the spinoff for good, I fear the outing won’t have enough screen time to properly wrap up the entire Roseanne franchise. The Conners season 7 promises to be the show’s final outing, bringing the 36-year-old sitcom franchise to a close in March 2025. According to TVLine, The Conners season 7 will be a “Six-episode farewell event” that brings back Becky, Jackie, Darlene, Dan, Harris, Mark, and Beverly-Rose for one more story. Already, I’m skeptical about the prospect of season 7 providing a meaningful ending to the franchise as a whole.

Roseanne Barr claims that getting kicked off of Roseanne was the worst thing that ever happened to her. For Sabrina Carpenter, getting cast on it could have been even worse.
Even without Barr, the revival of the beloved 1990s sitcom Roseanne has been a huge success for ABC since The Conners first premiered in 2018. After Barr’s dismissal following her racist tweets directed at Obama administration official Valerie Jarrett, the reworked sitcom sans title character was the #1 new comedy for the 2018 season, and, though The Conners suffered the same gradual drop-off that most sitcoms see in later seasons, ABC is reportedly eyeing 2025 for the release of the seventh and final season of the now-John-Goodman-led comedy.
This means that, in some alternative universe, Sabrina Carpenter is currently getting ready to send off her Conners character Harris Conner-Healy with grace, and Emma Kenney released the song of the 2024 summer with “Espresso.”

"The Big Bang Theory" ran for 12 seasons and the same number of years — from 2007 to 2019, to be precise — and fans still love Chuck Lorre's sitcoms about a gang of (somewhat) lovable nerds even though this one has been off the airwaves for some time now. The success of "The Big Bang Theory" is unquestionably due to the show's outstanding cast, as every single series regular brought something genuinely special to their individual roles, and the chemistry between the main characters is definitely what made people tune into the show week after week.
So what has the cast of "The Big Bang Theory" been doing since the show came to a close in the spring of 2019? They're a pretty talented bunch, so you probably won't be surprised to learn that pretty much all of them have stayed booked and busy in Hollywood. Johnny Galecki was once the second highest-paid TV actor in the world, only behind his The Big Bang Theory co-star Jim Parsons. Ben and Darlene's relationship can come full circle in The Conners season 7, fixing past imbalances. Ben's Hardware magazine purchase gives Darlene a chance to pursue her dream career, finally fulfilling her ambition. Ben and Darlene's dynamic shift at the magazine could lead to a healthier professional and personal relationship.
When The Conners season 7 wraps up Ben and Darlenes story, the Roseanne spinoff can perfectly bring the couples journey full circle. During Roseannes original run, Roseannes sardonic daughter Darlene dated the meek David Healy. Johnny Galeckis supporting character is unlikely to appear in The Conners season 7, but he played a pivotal role in Roseanne seasons 49. Darlene and David had a rocky relationship, but the pair truly loved each other and eventually had a child together before the end of Roseannes original run. Darlenes character arc in The Conners revolves around a cycle of success, failure, and acceptance. Despite a promising start, Darlene Conner follows in the footsteps of her mother, Roseanne, throughout The Conners. Roseanne Conners journey ended tragically, but Darlenes determination helps her persevere through trying times.
Since her first appearance in 1988, Darlene Conner (Sara Gilbert) has been a stubborn, independent, and fiercely intelligent force. Throughout her tenure on both Roseanne and its spin-off series, The Conners, that sharp personality has carried Darlene through countless hardships. However, her character arc is uncannily familiar to long-time fans. By the sixth season of The Conners, Darlene is in a familiar situation: She works a dead-end job, struggles to connect with her children, and has a deeply pessimistic attitude. While her predicament perfectly mirrors her mothers, it has a much brighter conclusion.
Obviously, some of Darlenes optimistic notes are thanks to her ongoing presence in The Conners.

Despite being a mainstay, Johnny Galecki's character, Leonard, took a backseat to Jim Parsons' Sheldon in The Big Bang Theory. The show failed to capitalize on the chemistry between Galecki and Sara Gilbert, who played Leslie Winkle, despite their earlier work together. Leslie Winkle's potential impact on the show, particularly in addressing Raj's character flaws, was wasted in The Big Bang Theory's later seasons.
While The Big Bang Theory pulled off a sitcom reunion after 16 years, I was annoyed when the hit show then went on to waste this pairing. The Big Bang Theorys cast of characters were all likable, but the shows original protagonist was Johnny Galeckis Leonard. Over time, Jim Parsons breakout character Sheldon ended up becoming The Big Bang Theorys central focus, as evidenced by its first spinoff, Young Sheldon. However, Leonards attempts to woo his neighbor Penny were The Big Bang Theorys primary early focus.

The Conners season 7 may feature a cameo from David Healy, but his absence could actually benefit the series. The tragic end to Darlene and David's relationship in The Conners season 6 revealed a deconstructed love story. David's absence at Mark's high school graduation may signify that his return in The Conners season 7 is unlikely.
Although The Conners season 7 could technically bring back one major Roseanne star for a final cameo, the spinoff's storylines have deprived this character's potential return of any emotional impact. The Conners has a large cast of characters, most of whom the show borrowed from its predecessor, Roseanne. When Roseanne was revived in 2017, the series proved almost as big a hit as the family sitcom was throughout its original 1989-1997 run. However, series star Roseanne Barr went on a racist Twitter rant shortly after the series ended, resulting in the network firing her and retooling the series.

The Conners co-creators Bruce Helford and Dave Caplan were asked if Johnny Galecki or Michael Fishman could reprise their roles in season 7. They revealed that "the door is always open." It nevertheless seems unlikely that Galecki will return, given his effective retirement from acting.
The Conners producers weighed in on the possibility of Johnny Galecki and Michael Fishman reprising their original roles again. They originated characters on Roseanne, the sitcom which the new show directly follows, with Fishman playing eldest son D.J. Conner from episode 2 of Roseanne through season 4 of the sequel and Galecki playing David Healy, with whom D.J.'s older sister Darlene (Sara Gilbert) has a tumultuous relationship, across 98 episodes beginning in Roseanne season 4. The Conners season 7 will be the final season of the show and neither star has so far been confirmed to appear.

Mark's decision to drop out of college opens up the opportunity for Darlene to pursue her dream of becoming a writer. Financial hardships and family responsibilities have kept Darlene from her writing ambitions until now. With Ben's insurance payout, Darlene may finally have a shot at living her dream by working on a magazine.
Although The Conners season 6 hasnt solved all of the Roseanne heroines problems, Darlenes future does seem brighter now that the sitcom has remembered an old plot of hers from decades ago. Between Roseannes original run, its revival, and its spinoff The Conners, Darlene has never had an easy time of it. Admittedly, no one in The Conners cast of characters has been without their struggles, but Darlenes life has been particularly trying. Compared to her cheerier siblings, DJ and Becky, Darlenes sardonic demeanor made her a black sheep throughout Roseanne.

The Conners should address Bev's dementia and provide a fitting end to her storyline before the show potentially ends in season 6. Harris, Darlene's daughter, deserves a prominent storyline and appropriate exit if The Conners concludes with season 6. Dan's financial struggles need resolution before the show ends, either ruining him permanently or pulling him out of poverty for good.
The hit sitcom The Conners may possibly end with season 6, but if the show is finishing, there are some key storylines that need wrapping up. ABC risks worsening Roseanne's blunder by insisting on a season 7 of The Conners. The Conners has had a rough road establishing itself, but continues to thrive as ABC's premier comedy. While there are doubts about the show lasting longer, ABC is pushing forward with season 7.
ABC risks not just repeating, but making Roseanne's biggest blunder worse by insisting that The Conners season 7 happening. To say that The Conners has had a rough road in establishing itself as one of the premier comedies currently on air would be a massive understatement. Johnny Galecki's character David in The Conners is facing vilification for abandoning his family, which goes against the show's emphasis on the importance of family. Known for its relatable portrayal of the middle-class American family has survived several tragedies since it returned on the air via a revival. The Conners season 5 finale betrayed David's character and blamed him for his struggles, disregarding his abusive upbringing. Darlene's failure to stand up for David in the finale showed that The Conners gave up on Roseanne's central couple and replaced him with a new love interest. David's absence and lack of character development in The Conners can be attributed to Johnny Galecki's commitments to The Big Bang Theory, making his return unlikely.
While The Conners season 5 finale was a solid ending to the spinoff’s latest outing, the episode's take on David Healy ruined the Roseanne character’s best episode. Although Roseanne’s central family was nothing if not dysfunctional, the Conners always loved and cared for each other. Even when they were at each other’s throats, the blue-collar heroes of the classic ‘90s sitcom clearly had great affection for one another. The one time Roseanne hit her young son,...

Even if The Conners season 6 isn’t the Roseanne spinoff’s final outing, there will still be a few questions that the show needs to clarify for viewers. The Conners has a tricky history, so it is no surprise that the show has left the fate of a few important characters hanging from time to time. The Conners was originally Roseanne, a successful sitcom about a working-class family that proved popular throughout the ‘90s. When Roseanne was revived for a belated tenth season in 2017, the show retconned its entire final season and returned to the show’s pre-season 9 status quo. However, Roseanne’s season 10 revival soon ran into another problem.
While the revival wasn’t a critical disaster like Roseanne season 9, the show did have to fire Roseanne’s actor Roseanne Barr when the comedienne went on a racist Twitter tirade. Viewers were understandably uncertain how Roseanne could continue without Roseanne herself,...

The Big Bang Theory has only been off the air for four years thus far, but after 12 seasons it’s hard to imagine the cast as anything other than the beloved characters they played for over a decade. While some actors have chosen to take it easy in the years since Bbt ended, others have gone full-speed ahead into roles that are wildly different from the characters we know them as.
Across film and television, here are the Big Bang Theory cast’s best post-Big Bang roles.
Johnny Galecki – The Conners
Johnny Galecki hasn’t done much since The Big Bang Theory ended, but having a child a few months before a global pandemic changes the world as we know it is as good an excuse as any. The Conners season 5's Roseanne cameos were disappointing and should not be repeated in season 6. The show should focus on new characters, as some of the best guest stars in season 5 were ones that did not appear in Roseanne. The one exception to this is Bev, Jackie and Roseanne's mother, whose storyline should continue in season 6 before potentially having a meaningful exit.
While The Conners season 6 could bring back Roseanne characters for cameos, season 5 proved that this isn’t a winning formula. The Conners had a tough time getting over the death of Roseanne. When the 2017 Roseanne revival proved a huge ratings success, it seemed as if nothing could stop the ‘90s sitcom from dominating the airwaves as the show had done decades earlier when it first debuted. However, when series star Roseanne Barr’s racist tweets saw her fired, Roseanne’s future was suddenly imperiled. As such, The Conners...

While The Conners season 6 could technically bring back Roseanne’s titular heroine, this would be a terrible idea for the spinoff. Roseanne was a popular sitcom throughout the ‘90s until the show's ninth and final season. When the series was revived in 2017, Roseanne season 10 immediately retconned all of the critically abhorred season 9. The Roseanne revival was popular among audiences and brought back many of the memorable characters that made the original series so successful. However, Roseanne season 11’s existence was jeopardized when series star Roseanne Barr tweeted racist comments about Valerie Jarrett, a former advisor to Barrack Obama.
Roseanne was swiftly canceled, and The Conners was born. The Conners covered up Roseanne Barr’s exit by killing off Roseanne in the pilot episode. The series then focused on the rest of the Conner family left behind after Roseanne’s death. The Conners soon proved popular with audiences. Now entering its sixth season,...

While The Conners season 5 finale made David Healy’s return to the spinoff almost impossible, the Roseanne spinoff has already been wasting Johnny Galecki’s fan-favorite supporting character for years before this. The transition from a successful sitcom to a spinoff often brings some inevitable casualties. Not every character from a beloved show can become a series regular on a spinoff, or else the sitcom would simply be a revival. However, Roseanne’s unusual history makes its spinoff, The Conners, a unique case. While this spinoff did drop a lot of Roseanne’s main characters, this was mostly because The Conners also got rid of Roseanne herself.
The title character of Roseanne was the show’s leading lady for its first nine seasons in the 90s, and she returned for 2017’s short-lived Roseanne revival. However, when actor Roseanne Barr was fired, Roseanne’s revival became The Conners, and her character was killed off.

When Roseanne got rebooted in 2018 and then again as The Conners later that same year, it made sense that the writers would have to write around Johnny Galecki's David. The actor was a bit busy at the time as one of the leads on one of the biggest shows on a rival channel. Thereby, it was one thing to have David and Darlene divorced and living in separate places, but it was another to make David a deadbeat dad. Everything the audience had known about David up to that point suggested that although ineffectual, he was not the type to abandon his children completely.
Throughout the original run of Roseanne, David Healy had a complicated life. Coming from an abusive home, he was still shy and polite and, generally speaking, a nice guy, as opposed to his somewhat dimwitted, macho brother Mark. Although David and Darlene had plenty of...

While The Conners season 5 finale looked like it was going to bring back David Healy, there are numerous reasons that Johnny Galecki’s Roseanne character shouldn’t return to the sitcom spinoff. Like most sitcom spinoffs, The Conners has a hard time bringing back fan-favorite characters from its predecessor Roseanne. Some viewers are delighted to see Chuckie Mitchell appear on The Conners since the two shows feel more closely related when familiar faces like this pop up from time to time. However, viewers are reminded that The Conners abruptly killed off Roseanne herself whenever the show references characters from its earlier incarnation.
This could be one of the reasons that The Conners season 5 finale opted not to bring back Johnny Galecki’s David Healy. Back in the first nine seasons of Roseanne, David was the well-meaning but weak-willed boyfriend of Sara Gilbert’s sardonic Darlene. However, 2017’s Roseanne revival revealed...

Warning: Contains Spoilers for The Conners season 5 finaleWhile The Conners season 5 finale seemed set to bring back a Roseanne character, the episode instead ensured that this cast member will now likely never return. The Conners has an uneven history when it comes to cameos from its predecessor Roseanne. On occasion, bringing back fan-favorite characters like Chuckie Mitchell or Roseanne’s aging mother Bev works well for The Conners. This ensures that the spinoff feels like an extension of its predecessor and makes the world of Roseanne and The Conners seem consistent. However, there is a reason that only some of the spinoff’s cameos are successful.
When The Conners brings back Roseanne characters, the show runs the risk of overshadowing its new cast members. Stories that center around returning characters from Roseanne can make long-time viewers nostalgic for the ‘90s series. However, these plots can also make the main cast...

The following contains spoilers for The Conners Season 5, Episode 22, "The Grad Finale," now streaming on the ABC app.
The Conners executive producers Bruce Helford and Dave Caplan recently unpacked the big David Healy-centric twist in Season 5's final episode, "The Grad Finale."
The pair explained why Mark Conner-Healy (Ames McNamara) chooses Ben Olinsky (Jay R. Ferguson) over his father David (Johnny Galecki) in "The Grad Finale" during an interview with TVLine. "There are a couple of things in play here," Caplan said. "One of the things we're implying is that zebras don't change their stripes; it's one thing to talk a big game, and it's another thing to show up, which is what parenting is about. You've got to be there, and you've got to show up, and what we're saying is that David didn't come through for [Mark] and Ben did. With all of the complications of being a Conner,...

Warning! This article contains Spoilers for The Conners season 5, episode 22.
Although The Conners season 5 teased a Roseanne cameo with the news that Mark’s father was invited to his graduation, this storyline ended up providing something much better. It is always a mixed blessing when the original stars of a sitcom show up for a cameo role in a spinoff. Sometimes, this can give viewers a nostalgic treat, as was the case when How I Met Your Father and That ‘90s Show brought back the stars of their predecessors. However, at other times, this approach can be distracting. Reminding viewers of an earlier sitcom can distract them from the spinoff’s action and leave viewers wishing they watched a rerun instead.
While The Conners keeps Roseanne’s themes alive, the family sitcom struggled to find the right balance when bringing back cast members from the earlier series. The Conners brought back Bev,...

The news that The Conners season 6 could be the last outing of the Roseanne spinoff is not necessarily a bad thing for the long-running series. The Conners began life as 2017’s Roseanne season 10 revival, with the family sitcom focusing on Roseanne Barr’s titular antihero and her working-class family. However, in 2018, Barr’s racist tweets led the network to fire her from the sitcom revival, resulting in ABC rapidly retooling Roseanne’s revival into The Conners. Opening with Roseanne’s sudden death via an offscreen opioid overdose, The Conners season 1 had the tricky job of figuring out what “Roseanne without Roseanne” felt like.
Fortunately, The Conners kept Roseanne’s themes alive despite killing off the main character of the series. Surprisingly, some seasons of The Conners felt more like early-season Roseanne than the 2017 revival did. The Conners largely replaced Roseanne season 10’s hackneyed gags about cultural appropriation and overly sensitive...

The Conners, the rebranded sequel series to the original Roseanne of the 1990s, is in its fifth season and there seem to be some hints that there will be a major character death by the end. The show has never shied away from difficult subjects and made its name by tackling contemporary issues with humor and nuance. The main cast of characters have all dealt with adversity and struggle, and 20 years later, some characters are still navigating their issues.
When Roseanne was renewed after a long hiatus, fans were excited to see beloved former cast members return to old roles. Many of the actors from the original run returned for the renewal while others went on different paths, and it's worthwhile to see what everyone has been doing since, whether it's continuing on The Conners, starring in other popular sitcoms, or even getting nominated for an Academy Award.

Courageous disc boutique Scream Factory takes on one of Hammer’s biggest embarrassments, that almost everyone connected to it would like to disown. I bailed from my first viewing around 1990 … yet this time around found it somewhat better than I expected. The girlie-show nudity is treated as a special effect, and the story at least hangs together. And like every Hammer horror, there’s a sizable, vocal cheering section out there that sings its praises.

The series premiere of The Conners is drawing nearer, and ABC is graciously gifting us with more looks at the upcoming season. The new show will focus on the iconic TV family as they deal with the everyday struggles of life, and the recently dropped teaser gives us a taste of what that's like. Whether it's watching Darlene (Sara Gilbert) and Jackie (Laurie Metcalf) plan ahead for the holidays or catching a brief glimpse of the family together at church, it's obvious that life goes on for the Conners, with or without Roseanne.
Though the network has remained mum on how it'll deal with Roseanne's absence after the cancellation of the Roseanne reboot, Roseanne Barr herself has said that the Conner matriarch is going to die of an overdose. The series premiere of the Roseanne spinoff, The Conners, is inching closer, and it seems like the cast and production team haven't had much trouble moving forward with the new show after the messy Roseanne debacle. There's quite a bit to anticipate, including the return of original castmate Johnny Galecki, who played David Healy, the love interest of Sara Gilbert's character, Darlene Conner. Galecki was on Roseanne from 1992 to 1997 and made an appearance in one episode of the reboot. While it's unclear how many episodes of The Conners he will appear in, he is getting ready to have more free time on his hands. He has been a regular on The Big Bang Theory, which is now in its final season.

As great as last season's revival of Roseanne was, one of the frustrating things about it for fans was the fact that actor Johnny Galecki was only able to work in a single appearance as his character from the show, David Healy. Of course, that difficulty just might have something to do with the fact that he happens to star in one of TV's top-rated shows at the moment, The Big Bang Theory. And now, with the Roseanne spin-off The Conners, it wasn't sounding too promising that he would be be able to appear this season. Thanks to actress Juliette Lewis, however, we now know that the schedule stars have aligned and he will indeed be returning for at least an episode. View this post on Instagram Here’S The Big News!! For Johnny Galecki, also known as physicist Leonard Hofstadter on “The Big Bang Theory,” the end of an era is in sight; CBS recently announced that after a dozen years, season 12 will be the last for the 10-time Emmy-winning show, which has spurred household catchphrases and the TV spinoff “Young Sheldon.” Along with Jim Parsons, Kaley Cuoco, Simon Helberg and Kunal Nayyar, Galecki helped the nerd comedy climb to the top of the ratings.
Galecki drew his first mention in Variety in 1987 when he was cast in the NBC pilot “Kowalski Loves Ya,” later named “Time Out for Dad,” starring football legend Dick Butkus. Since then, he has scored a Golden Globe nomination, as well as Emmy and Critics Choice nominations for his work on “The Big Bang Theory,” and rumors are swirling as to whether he’ll reprise his role as David Healy in the upcoming “Roseanne” spinoff, “The Conners.

“The Big Bang Theory” welcomes one of its biggest guest stars for Thursday’s season finale in none other than Luke Skywalker himself, Mark Hamill. But Johnny Galecki revealed that the “Star Wars” alum was far more interested in some “deep-ass trivia” regarding his “Roseanne” character, David Healy.
“[He] had a lot of questions, like old ‘Roseanne’ trivia questions,” the actor told TheWrap. Specifically, that his character was called Kevin, not David, in his very first appearance on “Roseanne.”
“That’s some deep-ass trivia, man,” Galecki remembers telling Hamill.
Overall, Galecki said Hamill was just excited to take his place among the “Big Bang Theory” gallery of geeky guest stars including Stan Lee, Stephen Hawking, Leonard Nimoy, LeVar Burton, George Takei and his “Star Wars” co-star, the late Carrie Fisher.

As for the fate of “The Big Bang Theory” itself, Galecki re-iterated the plan is for the show to wrap after next season, though added no decision has been set in stone.
“It’s not for me to say or predict. That’s the plan right now,” he said. “We’re operating under what we know at this point, and the only discussions that we’ve had amongst the cast is that we’re going to be very sad when that day comes.”

The highly-anticipated Roseanne reboot is finally here! When the updated series premiered on ABC on Tuesday, March 27 two decades after the original show's run, many fans were surprised to see almost all of the former cast members returned for the revival. Not only did Roseanne Barr, John Goodman, Laurie Metcalf, Sara Gilbert, Lecy Goranson, Sarah Chalke, Michael Fishman, and Johnny Galecki come back, but the 2018 cast also features a few new characters. So, just how many of those new and old characters are Roseanne's kids? Scroll down to meet the Conner family! Becky Conner-Healy Becky is Roseanne and Dan Conner's eldest child. She was originally played by Lecy Goranson in Seasons 1 through 5. In 1992, Lecy decided to leave Roseanne to pursue a college education at Vassar College in Poughkeepsie, NY. “Roseanne” made waves when it returned to ABC after 21 years for diving head first into the U.S.’ current political divide. Johnny Galecki, who came back as David Healy last month, credits the revival’s embrace of politics as a reason for its success.
“It’s always been a show that was very contemporary and very honest about what families go through … what families argue about,” the actor told TheWrap while promoting his new indie movie “The Cleanse.”
The show, namely because of series star Roseanne Barr’s real-life politics, has been lauded by the conservative community for promoting their values and showcasing working-class, middle America. “I don’t know that a lot of shows are doing that,” the “Big Bang Theory” star said.

For Galecki — who joined Season 4 in 1992 — the show also has a personal connection, as he remembers watching the first episode when he was growing up in Chicago. “My parents said, ‘It’s like the writers are peering through our windows,'” he recalled, adding that the original series “governed when my family ate dinner.”
Galecki said he wasn’t surprised that the “Roseanne” revival has been successful. “I was one of the people who couldn’t wait for it to return,” he said.
While he had kept in touch with Barr, Laurie Metcalf and Sara Gilbert (who had a recurring role on “The Big Bang Theory”) over the years, Galecki said when he was on set for the revival, it was the first time he had been with the entire cast in one sitting.

“Except for some sort of award the cast was given, maybe nine years ago, we’ve never all been in the same room together,” he explained.

The Roseanne revival undid many of the controversial plot twists of the 1997 series finale — like resurrecting family patriarch Dan Conner from the dead, for example. But what happened to Darlene Conner and David Healy's baby, aka Dan and Roseanne Conner's granddaughter? That Season 9 finale erased Darlene and David's whole relationship, but now in Season 10, that twist has also been reversed, and little Harris Conner-Healy isn't so little anymore! The Season 10 premiere wasn't the first time Harris made comeback. She was born prematurely in Season 9, and doctors didn't expect her to survive. Survive she did, however, and now she's living with her grandparents along with mom Darlene, who recently lost her job on the new reboot show. Harris, played by Shameless star Emma Kenney, is 14 years old now, even though Season 10 takes place 20 years after Season 9. But she's a precocious 14, eager to rise above her family's working-class existence. A post...

If you've been wondering where Darlene Conner's husband, David Healy, has been on the new Roseanne reboot, wonder no more! Johnny Galecki returned to the revival to reprise his character during the Tuesday, April 17 episode of the sitcom, and fans got a lot of answers. Though Darlene (played by Sara Gilbert) and David are no longer a married couple on the updated storyline (hence why Darlene moved home with Roseanne and Dan), they are parents to two children together — a teenage daughter named Harris Conner-Healy and a 10-year-old son named Mark Conner-Healy. And in the highly-anticipated episode, we finally got to see the former couple reunite when David made a surprise return for Harris' birthday party after being estranged from his family for years. During his stay, we also learned why they actually split in the first place. So it turns out, David left Darlene because of his late brother,...

[Editor’s note: The following article contains spoilers for “Roseanne” Season 10 Episode 5, “Darlene v. David.”]
One of the challenges of a new ABC season of “Roseanne” was to make it feel like something other than a simple parade of familiar faces. To make this seem like a fulfilling storytelling exercise and not a pure nostalgia grab, it wasn’t enough just to bring the whole gang back: There needed to be a reason. Though the first handful of episodes has found things beyond “Roseanne” canon to discuss — with mixed results — this reboot did well to frame its experiences around the main members of the family. Keeping that interconnected web of Conners and Healys at the heart of the show was the only way to revive the series.
Still, this new “Roseanne” would still have been possible without the return of Johnny Galecki’s David Healy. With the actor’s commitments elsewhere and a Darlene storyline that explained her new chapter as a single mom,...
