The Sandman showrunner Allan Heinberg has talked about the possibility of the canceled Netflix show returning for a third season, following season 2's major Dream twist. The Netflix fantasy series was adapted from the comic book of the same name by Neil Gaiman, and, despite early promise, The Sandman season 2 ending marked the conclusion to the show.
The Sandman had an ensemble cast, and was developed by Gaiman, David S. Goyer, and showrunner Allan Heinberg. The show's conclusion saw Daniel Hall, the infant son of Hector and Lyta Hall, return as an adult to become the new Dream of the Endless. Heinberg has addressed the ending, and the show's season 3 chances.
Per THR, Heinberg talked about how the show's conclusion set up plenty of plot points that could have been explored in season 3. He detailed how Daniel's transition to becoming the new Dream is a story that could have been...

The latest episode of The Buccaneers, called “All Rise,” is out on Apple TV+, and it is a roar of the matriarch against all sorts of injustice women faced at the hands of the prejudiced patriarchal society.
When Mrs. St George’s divorce case starts in court, her daughter, Nan, and her sister, Nell, both stand with her like rocks. Conchita refuses to be told how to express her grief, and Honoria finally takes a stand for her own life and freedom. This episode spoke loudly, in the show’s signature feminine voice, and everyone had to stop and listen.

The ending of The Buccaneers season 2 episode 7 proves that the moment you find yourself a bit too happy, something has to go wrong. There are two major plot points that still have to be addressed in the final episode: the Lizzy and Theo situation, and the Guy and Paloma situation, both involving Nan. The 7th episode focuses on Richard’s wake and Patti’s court case against Tracy. We finally get to see a bit more of Leighton Meester’s Nell in this episode. I’ve been dying to see her since she showed up at the beginning of the second season. We also get a glimpse of New York for the first time in a really long time. Honestly, I found myself seriously frustrated at a lot of points throughout this episode, but especially in the moment where Tracy truly believes he’s better than all the women in his family.

With one week left for the finale of The Buccaneers, it was finally time to see a bit of Nan’s biological mum, played by Leighton Meester. I’m not going to lie, I had a very hard time watching this episode, with all its frustrating bits and dark themes. It’s an episode that will leave your blood boiling, at least in the first half, until things start to change little by little and bloom into something positive. While I did always like Nan as a character, she gives off Jo March with fewer flaws; however, I can’t say I enjoyed the direction her character took this season. It’s quite hypocritical when she’s testifying against her dad over his adultery when she’s been unfaithful herself. Additionally, her argument against her biological mother doesn’t show much character either. I was honestly quite disappointed at her rage,...

[This story contains spoilers from season three, episode six of The Gilded Age.]
It’s hard to believe The Gilded Age is winding down. The latest episode “If You Want to Cook an Omelette” is number six of just eight, yet the drama is not de-escalating — only revving up, especially with the just-in news of a season four renewal.
In the latest episode, Bertha (Carrie Coon) traveled to England to “fix” things for Gladys (Taissa Farmiga) who expressed her unhappiness to her father George (Marlon Spector) who, of course, let his wife have it. Intriguingly, her visit made a huge impact not just on Gladys, but perhaps on how fans view her actions. Could Bertha have been right about Gladys marrying the Duke all along?
Just as Gladys and Hector (Ben Lamb) may be finding their groove towards happy matrimony, there appears to be trouble brewing for Marian (Louisa Jacobson) and Bertha, and George’s son Larry (Harry Richardson) who just became engaged,...

This post contains spoilers from The Gilded Age season 3 episode 6 from this point forward.
Never underestimate how quickly things can change in a week, especially on the small screen. It was just one week ago that I was celebrating the engagement of Marian and Larry, but The Gilded Age season 3 episode 6 brought that excitement crumbling down before our feet with one particular discovery. Their happily ever after might no longer be in the cards after this week's developments.
Let's start there before we get into the most shocking aspect of the episode, which arrived at the end and unexpectedly killed a supporting character. Anyway, Marian learned the truth about Larry's whereabouts on the night of their engagement. She believed he was at a business dinner, as he had told her, but when she finds out he was at the haymarket, she assumes the worst from him.

As Michael Bublé and a ton of other artists once famously sang, “It’s a new dawn. It’s a new day. It’s a new life. For me, and I’m feeling good.”
That sentiment was felt by just about no one during The Gilded Age Season 3 Episode 6, outside of Gladys, who finally started to assert some authority after a visit from big mama Bertha.
But outside of that? Things were pretty bleak all around for everyone, as life just had a way of humbling some, crushing others, and leaving me with a gasp.
(Karolina Wojtasik/HBO)
Bertha making her way to Gladys was to be expected after The Gilded Age Season 3 Episode 5, and while I’ll never be on Bertha’s side regarding most things Gladys, it was nice to see her be there for her daughter when she needed her.

I want to start off by apologizing for the grave mistake I made last week by calling Lady Sarah the mother of Hector instead of his sister. But I’ll be sure not to make that mistake again. While The Gilded Age episode 6 brings some positivity for a few of New York’s upper crust, it also brings a lot of bad news for the rest. It seems like everything is headed towards doom right now, and I hope things take a positive turn soon enough. This episode has made me cry twice, but I quite enjoyed it. However, I do wish the Larry and Marian drama would be over soon. Honestly, these two were meant to be endgame; you can’t seriously expect me to believe Marian’s going to have to look for another man! I’d have given up a long time ago if I were in her place,...

Netflix's The Sandman season 2 is the show's final season. While there's more than enough source material for the show to cover up to five seasons, the streamer only gave the team enough budget for 12 more episodes. However, the writers managed to condense the entire story into one more season, and that meant playing out the story's epic final arc.
In the final episodes, which cover volumes 9 and 10 of the comic, Dream faces punishment from the Furies after spilling family blood. In episode 6, he kills his son Orpheus (Ruairi O'Connor)—an act of love, putting him out of his misery. Ultimately, he faces his punishment and is killed by the Furies, but Dream of the Endless is reborn in the form of Daniel Hall, the child of Lyta and Hector, who was conceived in The Dreaming.

“The Gilded Age” continued its series-high viewership streak with Episode 5 of its third season.
The episode scored 4 million viewers across its first three days on HBO and HBO Max, according to internal data from Warner Bros. Discovery, marking a new series-high viewership for the drama series. Episode 5’s audience builds on last week’s high, with Episode 4 scoring 3.8 million viewers.
The network boasted increased awareness of the show throughout the season, noting that Season 3 is outperforming the previous episodes by more than 20%. The milestones should be a good omen for a potential renewal for the show from Julian Fellowes and Sonja Warfield, though an official Season 4 announcement has not been made yet.

The latest episode of The Buccaneers season 2, called “Every Single Piece Of My Heart,” is out now, and it readjusts the focus of the show back to its central women empowerment theme. The very first scene opens with the jaw-dropping revelation of baby Fred missing from Jinny and Guy’s care in Italy.
The episode revolved around confronting Lord Seadown with a united front and getting him to reveal the whereabouts of the child. It is a dramatic opera-fuelled showdown of women being wronged and them fighting back in the loudest way possible.
Spoiler Alert !!!This review contains spoilers about The Buccaneers Season 2 Episode 6!!! The Treachery and Trap Laid By Lord Seadown in The Buccaneers
When Jinny goes to confront her deceitful husband about her child, he raises an alarm and wrongfully puts her in a mental asylum. It is the literal and figurative representation of how women were silenced in the past.

The Buccaneers season 2 episode 6 reminded me of why we had a special place for this show in our hearts. It’s a show that is, at its heart, simply melancholic. That’s why season 1 was so enthralling. Despite the romance, there’s always been a blue undertone in the show, no rose-tinted glasses, though it felt like season 2 had lost its direction a little bit. I still don’t understand this Lizzy and Theo pairing, but let’s move on. In this episode, Guy finally sees James in Italy and brings Jinny to her senses, but unfortunately, it’s too late. The spiral of events that follows is nothing short of frustrating, if it doesn’t simply make you want to throw something at your screen. Given there are only 2 episodes left this season, I’m a bit concerned about where all the drama is going to take us. However,...

The moment The Gilded Age season 3 has been teasing since the beginning of the season has finally arrived, and we couldn't be happier! Without beating around the bush, let's get right to it: Larry proposed to Marian and she said yes! He drops to one knee and asks Marian to marry him before leaving the city for work. It's the real romance we have been hungry for in season 3.
Naturally, the scary part about Larry and Marian getting engaged wasn't the actual proposal part. They have to tell their families, which is nothing short of a colossal undertaking. Before this moment, Larry and Marian hadn't been public about their relationship, but both Bertha and Ada had been privy to the coupling in different ways. Needless to say, they react just as we'd expect.

Almost every film today, no matter how basic the narrative it builds upon, wants to pass off as progressive. If not in the strictest sense of the term—and too afraid of being boxed into the dreaded category of “woke”—then at least in a way that screams: see, we’re aware. Whether you see modern film as a sincere pursuit of that ideal or just a commercial performance of it is, of course, subjective.
But patterns surface—often shamelessly—in certain titles. Take Felipe Joffily’s “Almost Family”, for instance: the latest Netflix-style family sitcom flattened into a feature-length product. Beneath all its glittery, overacted slapstick, it wants to say something profound about letting young people chart their own paths. Through its shrieky, neurotically dramatic middle-aged leads, it attempts to explore how protective, loving fatherhood can often mask selfish possessiveness and patriarchal ego wars. [Warning: The following contains Major spoilers for The Gilded Age Season 3 Episode 5.] It’s all new terrain halfway through The Gilded Age Season 3. In Episode 5, which aired Sunday, July 20, on HBO, Gladys Russell (Taissa Farmiga) was living in England on the estate surrounding the fictional Sidmouth Castle, and being the Duchess of Buckingham won’t be easy with her new husband’s sister, Sara (Hattie Morahan), criticizing her every move. As Gladys struggled with Sara, Hector (Ben Lamb) revealed just how much he’s let his sister run their lives. At home in New York, George Russell (Morgan Spector) was bitter and resentful in Gladys’ absence. This was only compounded by the stresses of work, which prompted him to take drastic action in this installment. Bertha Russell (Carrie Coon) hardly had any time to revel in the victory (as she would call it) of her daughter’s nuptials before she started to receive the emotional blowback of...

Gladys deserves the mother of all castles after the ordeal she went through in New York City. But The Gilded Age production didn’t need to go to England to find the perfect home for the new Duchess of Buckingham.
Two different estates in Newport, R.I. — along with one in Long Island — served as Sidmouth Castle in the episode titled “A Different World” that aired Sunday. To achieve the opening shot, however, director Deborah Kampmeier relied on an actual pond in England to project the image of Gladys (Taissa Farmiga) and Hector (Ben Lamb) riding a carriage through the estate grounds.
“We put the visual effect of the carriage in upside down in the water, and then the wide shot of it moving through the countryside. That’s England,” said Kampmeier. “And then as we approach the castle, that is an approach to an estate in Newport. We brought...

Did you ever think you would see the day George and Bertha were This far apart on everything?

However, George’s financial issues and the complete lack of control over Gladys’ situation have pushed him to a place he has never entered before. A place where he’s no longer willing to trust Bertha unquestioningly, and one could say it’s about time.

Episode 5 of The Gilded Age season 3 finally seems like it’s hitting the brakes on Bertha’s antics. I’m not even sure I can call them that, but it is quite sad to see how she built her daughter up to living a dream life, only for Gladys to be entirely miserable. I know miserable is a strong word, but it isn’t anything like what Bertha wanted for her daughter, and she’s going to have to admit she was wrong. There’s no other way of fixing this mess. And on the other hand, I entirely understand George’s reaction, because he’s been very involved in his kids’ lives and genuinely cares for them. Meanwhile, amongst all the blue, there is some good news; all I hope is that it’s not short-lived. Additionally, we see the return of an old character who messed up Oscar’s life.

The big question is whether she’ll go through with the marriage or not, as the episode ended before Lizzy made a decision. Turning up moments before she’s set to enter the church, Theo begs her for a word and asks her to reconsider the marriage, even if they can’t be together because of his marriage to her friend Nan (Kristine Frøseth) and his role as a Duke. Brazilian bar owner Otavio projects a specific kind of patriotic pride, one deeply connected to his identity as a father. His world revolves around his daughter, Mariana. When she returns from her music studies in Paris, she brings news that tests the limits of his cultural loyalties: her engagement. Her chosen partner, Miguel, is not just any man; he is Argentinian.
This single fact ignites a dormant conflict, transforming a personal family milestone into a battlefield for national stereotypes. The families plan a meeting in the beautiful, snow-covered mountains of Bariloche, Argentina.
Here, in this neutral yet foreign territory, the film sets its stage. It uses the well-known Brazil-Argentina rivalry not for a political statement, but as a thin screen for a universal story of a father’s fear of being left behind. The comedy is born from anxieties that are deeply personal, simply cloaked in the colors of a flag.

Almost Family, or Familia, Pero no Mucho, in Portuguese, is a new Brazilian comedy-drama film on Netflix that uses the much-discussed rivalry between Brazilians and Argentines to tell a story of love and trust. The plot follows Otavio, a Brazilian restaurateur who is simply shocked when his daughter, Mariana, expresses her desire to marry an Argentine man, and his woes during the vacation trip to Bariloche as he has to get to know the in-laws better. Overall, Almost Family is a casual comedy film that is not meant to be taken seriously and is fine for a single watch.
Spoiler Alert
What is the Netflix film about?
Almost Family begins in a bustling bar in a Brazilian town, with the owner and manager of the establishment, Otavio, busily running about serving his guests. At a brief moment of respite, Otavio goes looking for his daughter, Mariana, and is told that...

The previous episode of The Buccaneers season 2 ended with Nan deciding to come back to England, leaving Guy behind once again, and Theo and Lizzy no longer being able to stay away from each other. Well, season 2 episode 5, "A Whole Love," picks up where things left off as Lizzy prepares for her wedding to Hector. Will she go through with it? Here's a recap of what happens in the Apple TV+ episode. Spoilers below.

The episode starts with Lizzy and Theo having some lovey dovey moments while Nan is away. Though now she's back and almost catches them. A few shows are masters of suspense, keeping viewers on the edge of their seats right up until the very end of an episode, leaving them desperately wanting more. The Buccaneers did exactly that with their Season 2, Episode 5, “A Whole Love.” I am shaken to the core. And believe me when I say this, I am shaken!
With its new episodes airing weekly, this significant episode of all left me in a frenzy with the biggest question: What will Lizzy do now? Episode 5 ends where Lizzy finds herself in a situation to either choose to marry Hector or leave it be, given her love for Theo. What layer will unfold when the former makes her choice?

I need to begin this review by saying that The Buccaneers season 2 is exceeding my expectations with each episode. Episode 5, called “A Whole Love,” is out now, and it is equal parts tear-jerking and jaw-dropping. Apple TV+’s rising star gave us so many plot twists in a single episode, I am floored.
Entanglements from The Buccaneers Season 2 Episode 4 grew deeper, and this episode built a crescendo so sharp we had our hearts in our mouths. They left us with mixed feelings and a cliffhanger in the end. I’m not sure what I feel about this episode, yet, maybe we’ll know by the end of the review.
Spoiler Alert !!!This article contains spoilers about The Buccaneers season 2 episode 5 Theo and Lizzy and Nan, and Guy: The Buccaneers‘ Loveless 4
The episode opened with ethereal scenes of Theo and Lizzy’s love story blooming over days or weeks, which they didn’t reveal for sure.

The Buccaneers season 2 has been quite the disappointment for a lot of us, specifically because of the Theo and Lizzy plotline. Added to that, we only got a tiny glimpse of Leighton Meester as Nan’s mom in the show, which I was personally hoping to see more of. But that aside, the way Nan seems to be making poor decision after poor decision, despite having been introduced as the smartest of the lot, feels especially disappointing. Meanwhile, the Theo and Lizzy plot came out of nowhere and seemed entirely contrived. But to make things worse, they’re not just infatuated but actually in love with each other, which means Lizzy’s life might be ruined forever. So that’s Theo ruining the lives of two women now, sigh. Oh, and things aren’t going great in Italy either; guess everyone’s just doing whatever they like at this point.

Episode 4 of The Buccaneers season 2 last week saw almost all of the love lives' get a little more complicated. Though Nan makes it to Italy to Guy and Jinny, she ends up deciding to go back so that she can use her title as duchess in the hopes of one day bringing her sister home. There's also James who found Jinny, plus the big twist of Lizzy and Theo sleeping together. The next episode is sure to be a good one after all of that. So make sure you don't miss it!

Film critics watch hundreds of movies every year, and invariably get a little cranky when they hit a patch of lousy movies. So it is occasionally therapeutic to take out one's frustrations on a film that is egregiously putrid — particularly if that film is from a serial befouler of movie theaters (I think I logged 12 blissfully uninterrupted hours of sleep after filing my pan of Paul W.S. Anderson's "Death Race").
Scathingly negative reviews are not often illuminating, but when written by masters of the craft, they can be immensely satisfying reads. This post contains spoilers from The Gilded Age season 3 episode 4 from this point forward.
Last week on The Gilded Age season 3, Gladys finally (but begrudgingly) agreed to go along with her mother's plan and marry Hector, the Duke of Buckingham, after successfully meeting him. But even though "the wedding of the century" was all set, that doesn't mean that Gladys still didn't have the opportunity to back out of the big day. That's very much a concern in this week's episode.
Since agreeing to the marriage, Gladys has been holed up in her bedroom as wedding preparations begin downstairs. She refuses to leave her room as some sort of unofficial protest, but in reality, it's more likely that leaving her room and seeing everything happening will make it real. She wants to pretend for a little longer, and that's understandable.
Thankfully, Bertha gives Gladys space while remaining hopeful that everything will go according to plan.

[This story contains spoilers from season three, episode four of The Gilded Age.]
Who Gladys Russell will marry has been one of the most compelling storylines for The Gilded Age’s explosive third season. While Gladys very much wants to marry for love, her mother Bertha has pushed her to marry Hector, the Duke of Buckingham (Ben Lamb), which will in turn make her a Duchess. Because Bertha (Carrie Coon) and her husband George (Morgan Spector), an industrialist, began the series with the disdained tag as “new money” with no social status, Bertha being able to marry her daughter Gladys off to the Duke in a lavish ceremony with all the right people in attendance at the end of episode four’s “Marriage Is a Gamble” is a major coup. Although Bertha has had major societal wins, none of them, however, ensures her position as solidly as this one.
Mrs. Astor (Donna Murphy) says this outright to Ward McAllister (Nathan Lane), her long-time confidante,...

What do you do when you’re past the point of no return?
Well, you marry a duke you barely know in front of the prying eyes of New York’s high society with the saddest look on your face, hoping that you’ll be able to find a shred of happiness living a life you never wanted.
The Gilded Age Season 3 Episode 4 was the wedding hour, and what a sad, sad wedding it turned out to be.

[Warning: The following contains Major spoilers for The Gilded Age Season 3 Episode 4.] The dreaded day arrived. Gladys Russell’s (Taissa Farmiga) wedding to Hector, Duke of Buckingham (Ben Lamb), was the main event of The Gilded Age Season 3 Episode 4, and it was far from a happy day. Gladys spent the week leading up to the nuptials arranged by ambitious mother Bertha Russell (Carrie Coon) in her room in protest of her being forced into the union. Father George Russell (Morgan Spector) was against the match from the start because Gladys wanted to marry for love, but he ended up reluctantly siding with Bertha on the day of the ceremony because jilting her betrothed at the altar (or even just the day of the wedding) would kill Gladys’ reputation forever. His support for the union was for Gladys’ own good, and Gladys eventually agreed it was the only way. Gladys was stuck between a rock and a hard place,...

Warning: Spoilers For The Gilded Age Season 3The Gilded Age star Taissa Farmiga explains why Gladys Russell bent to the will of her mother, Bertha Russell's (Carrie Coon), and agreed to marry Hector, the Duke of Buckingham (Ben Lamb). Gladys hoped to avoid her mother's arranged marriage plan for her, but the Russells' daughter ultimately succumbed to what Bertha and her father, George Russell (Morgan Spector), wanted.
Speaking toDecider, Taissa Farminga delved into the "pressure" Gladys Russell was under in The Gilded Age season 3, episode 3 to marry the Duke of Buckingham. Farmiga describes Gladys' "numbness" and how "emotionally depleted" she felt from all of the fighting. Taissa says Gladys ultimately just surrendered because she was "sick of feeling sh*tty." Read her quotes below:
I think, at the end of the day, it was just the pressure of everybody. I think she was dealing with the heartbreak of Billy.

After the events of the third episode and the cliffhanger that Nan has decided to run away to be with Guy and Jinny in Italy, The Buccaneers season 2 episode 4, "Ice Cream," picks up right where the story left off. And there's the reunion we've been waiting for, as well as some more heartbreak with our favorite couple, though. Here's a recap of what happened in the Apple TV+ series. Spoilers below.
The Buccaneers season 2 on Apple TV+ Theo and Lizzy's rushed romance begins

It’s not lost on me that The Buccaneers season 2 episode 4 is titled “Ice Cream” for more than one reason, eh? Euphemisms aside, though, this episode certainly felt more risque than what we’ve seen so far, and while I’m still not entirely sure where this is going, I am now very much invested yet again. To be honest, I do feel like Theo and Lizzy are a good pairing, and if Theo had never met Nan, I suppose he’d have fallen for Lizzy, who seems a more appropriate fit for the role of duchess in the more traditional sense. Well, just because Nan’s such a rebel. We’re still only halfway through the season, so we still have no idea how the tides are going to turn, but the one thing I’m certain of is I want happiness for all 5 girls, and that’s looking very hard at the moment.

Last week in The Gilded Age, Gladys raged against Bertha's demands for her to forfeit marrying for love in favor of marrying Hector, the Duke of Buckingham. In season 3 episode 3, her fight reaches its peak and a decision is ultimately made. Was George able to help negotiate a way out of the engagement for Gladys, or did Bertha get her way in the end?
Without giving away until after the break, there's definitely plans for a wedding to come very soon following the events of episode 3. Gladys' romantic future isn't the only one being examined this week, as Marian and Larry endure a close call with Bertha's maid and Peggy becomes closer to Dr. Kirkland, much to the concern of her family. Let's dive into the episode!

The one thing we’ve been waiting for since the beginning of The Gilded Age is Marian’s marriage. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not saying we want her to end up with just any random man, but this part of the plot feels stretched thin and needs moving on from sooner rather than later. At the end of the second season, the show teased us with something we really wanted, and as season 3 has been progressing, it seems this love story is shaping up as well. I don’t know about you, but I’m on team “Larian” one hundred percent. On the other hand, the sisterly drama between Ada and Agnes is getting a tad too aggressive. I do hope it doesn’t get out of hand. Meanwhile, the main plot of this episode revolves around Gladys and her relationship with her family. While George promised her a love match,...

Out of all movie genres, Westerns have a charm that attracts all kinds of viewers. There’s something about the dry, rugged, brutal world that keeps the viewers engaged and connected to the story. This charm has now helped Peter Dinklage’s The Thicket to dethrone Jason Statham’s Homefront on streaming charts. Per FlixPatrol, a day after the Tubi original’s debut on Amazon Prime, the movie has risen to the #8 spot, while Statham’s Homefront dropped to #10. With The Thicket debuting in the top 10, we can expect the movie to rise to a better spot on the charts in the coming days and weeks.
Directed by Elliott Lester, The Thicket follows an orphan who puts together a ragtag team of unlikely heroes to rescue his kidnapped sister from a brutal killer. Things take a deadly turn when, during the quest, the band comes across a deadly no-man's-land called The Thicket.

Daredevil: Born Again season 2 will bring in a new version of a Marvel Cinematic Universe hero. At the end of Daredevil: Born Again season 1, Charlie Cox's Matt Murdock decided to start an army to take the city back from Vincent D'Onofrio's Kingpin. Daredevil: Born Again season 2 is still filming in New York, and a new set photo reveals a first look at Camila Rodriguez suited up as the McU's new White Tiger.
Her uncle, Hector Ayala, was shot and killed by Detective Cole North, a member of Mayor Fisk's Anti-Vigilante Task Force, after Matt Murdock cleared his name in court. In the season 1 finale, there was a hint that Angela might pick up where he left off, and that's been confirmed by this latest snap.
It's clearly a homemade costume, though we'd bet that her mask is made from the remnants of Hector's suit.
Angela does look to be wearing the magic amulet that gave her uncle powers, and we'd be shocked if Daredevil doesn't take her under his wing in season 2. The Man Without Fear was also a mentor to the comic book White Tiger. However, that version of Angela...

In the season 1 finale, there was a hint that Angela might pick up where he left off, and that's been confirmed by this latest snap.
It's clearly a homemade costume, though we'd bet that her mask is made from the remnants of Hector's suit.

Crime doesn't pay, and neither does its king... or so we believed. Daredevil: Born Again was all about Matt Murdock and Wilson Fisk attempting to live within the limits of the law, but eventually returning to their old habits. Few characters from Netflix’s Castlevania can command the room with their presence. Among these characters, Queen Carmilla is like a force of nature. She strides into a room with her strategic intellect and can turn the tide of a battle with her strength. Being a true vampire with such intellect and power, I was curious to see how she would shape the series.
Despite being built up as an “absolute powerhouse, ” she was outsmarted by a Forgemaster and overwhelmed by night creatures. Instead of getting a grand finale fitting of her stature, her defeat made me feel like the show didn’t have the budget for a grand battle.
