“Washington Black” stars Ernest Kingsley Junior and Sterling K. Brown said their new Hulu series, which is based on Esi Edugyan’s fictional 2018 novel about a young, Black inventor’s journey through self-discovery, spotlights the history of Black inventors’ work being overlooked and/or credited as white inventions.

“There are so many inventions that we’ve done and accomplished that aren’t recognized, and I feel like recognition and visibility is so important, especially in the Black community,” Kingsley told TheWrap.

“They will have you think that white people made everything,” Brown added, who stars as Medwin Harris, Wash’s confidant and the caretaker of Black residents in a Nova Scotia community.

Donnie Wahlberg is no longer the only Blue Bloods actor set to appear on Boston Blue. The Danny Reagan actor recently confirmed the return of another Blue Bloods alum in a behind-the-scenes image from the set of the upcoming CBS spinoff.

In an Instagram post, Wahlberg shared a photo with his former Blue Bloods co-star Bridget Moynahan to announce that she would be reprising her role as Danny's sister, Erin Reagan, in the series premiere of Boston Blue. "Reunited and if feels so good! So excited to have my dear friend, and TV sister [Bridget Moynahan], join me for a special guest appearance in the premiere episode of #BostonBlue!" the post's caption read. Wahlberg also revealed that Moynahan will "be bringing her incredible directing talents" to Boston Blue. "More fun (and surprises) to come. Let’s go!" the actor concluded.

The CBS fall 2025-2026 television schedule has been released, and we know exactly when Boston Blue will air. We already knew it would take over the Friday night time slot held by its predecessor, Blue Bloods, but premiere dates were just officially announced.

Airing alongside Fire Country and Sheriff Country, the series premiere of Boston Blue is set to air on Friday, Oct. 17 at 10/9c. Sheriff Country is also a new series and while it will air right before Boston Blue on Oct. 17, before moving to the 8 pm time slot beginning on Oct. 24. The schedule change for the first two shows will not affect Boston Blue, which will stay the same for its run in the first season.

Boston Blue will follow Donnie Wahlberg’s Danny Reagan as he moves to Boston and joins the police department alongside Detective Lena Silver (Sonequa Martin-Green), who also comes from a family legacy of law enforcement.

Following the success of Hulu’s political thriller, Paradise, leading man Sterling K. Brown is back in another grand project from the streamer, promising adventure and excitement like no other. Titled Washington Black, the upcoming series was given the green light in October 2021 with Brown attached as an executive producer. It is an adaptation of Esi Edugyan’s bestselling book of the same name, and Hulu has at last provided an official trailer, giving viewers a glimpse of the chaos and triumph to come.

In the trailer, Brown can be heard introducing the story of “a young man and the boy he used to be,” referring to the titular character, George Washington “Wash” Black. Washington Black, set for release on July 23, is an adaptation of Canadian author Esi Edugyan’s 2018 novel which follows the life of an 11-year-old George Washington Black after a life-threatening incident forces him to flee from the sugar plantation in Barbados where he was born. Exclusive: Golden Globe, Emmy, and NAACP Award-winner Anthony Hemingway is set to direct and executive produce the first episode of the CBS Blue Bloods spinoff Boston Blue, led by Donnie Wahlberg.

As Deadline announced in February, the Blue Bloods Universe was established as the network gave Boston Blue a straight-to-series order. In the new series, from writers Brandon Sonnier & Brandon Margolis, Wahlberg will reprise his role as NYPD Detective Danny Reagan as he takes a position with the Boston Pd. Once in Boston, he is paired with Detective Lena Peters, the eldest daughter of a prominent law enforcement family.

Sonequa Martin-Green will join Wahlberg in Boston Blue as Detective Peters. Boston native Wahlberg appeared with Martin-Green for the first time last week to promote the series at CBS Fest in Los Angeles.

On Wednesday, it was announced by Netflix that Forever has been officially renewed for Season 2. The news comes about a week after the show debuted on Netflix on May 8. It was an instant hit with viewers, scoring a Rotten Tomatoes approval rating of 96%. Audiences were in total agreement, as the audience score is just as high at 95%.

This comes barely a week after the first season launched on the streamer May 8.

The first season follows the reunion between these two characters, who went to grade school together, and their kindling of a romance that grows to be each of their first loves. Creator Mara Brock Akil serves as producer and showrunner on the television adaptation of Blume’s 1975 novel.

Hulu has dropped the first teaser for Ryan Murphy’s upcoming legal drama “All’s Fair.”

The teaser, which can be seen below, shows off the series’ all-star cast, which includes: Kim Kardashian, Naomi Watts, Niecy Nash-Betts, Teyana Taylor, and Matthew Noszka, with Sarah Paulson and Glenn Close. No official premiere date has been set, but the show is slated to launch in the fall on Hulu in the U.S. and Disney+ internationally.

The official description for the show states:

Kim Kardashian is not to be messed with in the first teaser for Ryan Murphy’s “All’s Fair.” The trailer for the upcoming Hulu original dropped ahead of Disney’s upfronts presentation on Tuesday.

“You know what a girl’s best friend is? Not diamonds. Her lawyer,” Judith Light’s character confidentially tells Glenn Close. The trailer then pans between shots of several women looking fashionable, poised and confident from the boardroom to the courtroom as the “Cell Block Tango” from “Chicago” ominously plays.

Veteran actress Aisha Hinds made her directorial debut with 9-1-1 Season 8 Episode 11, a fantastic piece of television from beginning to end.

Hinds has been a main character on the series from its inception, but this was the first time she traded in her actor’s cap for a director’s chair.

The versatile and gracious Hinds spent a few minutes with us, talking about all the work that went into getting her to this point and highlighting some of her favorite experiences stepping behind the camera.
