Director Miguel Angel Vivas Develops I Will Die Tonight
Tagline: "How can you fight an enemy you can't see?" Filmax International, based in Barcelona, Spain, is developing a new mysterious thriller titled I Will Die Tonight. This is director Miguel Angel Vivas' fourth feature as director and film fans might recognize his name from the recently released Kidnapped (2011). This title also sounds exciting. In the story, Marcos is wrongfully accused of murder. His crime is obviously a set-up and Marcos must find the man who framed him, before it is too late. A concept poster for this film is now available with more details to come. Still in the early stages, I Will Die Tonight is being produced by Castillao Pictures. Crew details are below. Cannes 2012: Sleep Tight Lands Distro Through Mpi Media Group/Dark Sky Films; New Still Released
Mpi Media Group has announced its acquisition at the Cannes Film Market of all North American rights to Sleep Tight (Mientras Duermes), a psychological thriller from director Jaume Balaguero that we've been talking about for some time around these parts, and provided a new still.

From the Press Release:

Sleep Tight will be released theatrically in the fall of 2012 through Mpi’s genre arm, Dark Sky Films. The theatrical release will be followed by VOD and DVD availability.

The North American distribution deal was negotiated by Greg Newman, Executive VP of Mpi Media Group, and Ivan Diaz of Filmax.

Sleep Tight is a Filmax Entertainment and Castelao Pictures production, produced by Julio Fernandez. Written by Alberto Marini (Films to Keep You Awake), Sleep Tight stars Luis Tosar (The Limits of Control) as Cesar, an apartment building doorman who keeps very close tabs on the residents’ private lives and whose only happiness comes from others’ misery.

Dark Sky Films to Release Sleep Tight
It has been officially announced that Mpi Media Group has acquired North American distribution rights for Sleep Tight, a Spanish thriller/horror film from [Rec] and [Rec] 2 co-director Jaume Balaguero:

“Cannes, France (May 15, 2012) – Mpi Media Group today announced it has acquired all North American rights to Sleep Tight, a psychological thriller that has drawn huge audiences and won numerous awards in Spain. Featuring “one of the most charismatic villains in the recent cinema” (Fotogramas), director Jaume Balaguero’s movie will be released theatrically in the fall of 2012 through Mpi’s genre arm, Dark Sky Films. The theatrical release will be followed VOD and DVD availability.

Sleep Tight is a Filmax Entertainment and Castelao Pictures production, produced by Julio Fernandez. Written by Alberto Marini (Films to Keep You Awake), it is the latest film from the director of the Calista Flockhart horror movie Fragile.

Torment Awaits in New Thriller from Rec Producer
There's something in the air.  Home invasion films continue to be "a thing" in our genre and it doesn't appear to be slowing down.

Filmax and producer Julio Fernandez - the producer of the Rec series, Exorcismus, Sleep Tight and more - are prepping for Torment, a film that is going to be touted at the Canne film market this month.

Written by Michael Foster, the film concerns Cory Morgan, his wife and their 3 year old daughter Emily who decide to spend a quiet family holiday alone. When Sarah starts seeing strange things around the house, it soon becomes clear that they have some unwanted guests.

Now the family are forced to fight for their lives in what has become a festival of terror of epic proportions.
