“Futurama” is heading back from the future. Exec producer David X. Cohen revealed that next year’s season finale will explore more of the backstory of Fry and his brother as kids. “We are going to work work that gold mine a little bit more next year, 2026,” he told the audience at the show’s San Diego Comic-Con panel on Saturday.

Creator Matt Groening was joined by Cohen, as well as executive producers Claudia Katz and Ken Keeler, supervising director Peter Avanzino, and Futurama stars Billy West, Lauren Tom (Amy), Phil Lamarr (Hermes), David Herman (Scruffy) and Maurice Lamarche (Kif). The stars kicked the panel off with a table read of the upcoming Season 13’s sixth episode.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Mangione died at his home in Rochester, New York, on Tuesday. While an exact cause of death isn't yet known, the musician reportedly died in his sleep. His attorney, Belock Levine & Hoffman Llp's Peter S. Matorin, confirmed Mangione's passing.

After a year of keeping fans eagerly awaiting another entertaining chapter, Hulu has finally provided an update concerning what’s next for the long-running Futurama. The over-two-decade-old sitcom was renewed by the streamer in November 2023 for two more broadcast seasons, which will air through 2026. One of those seasons is scheduled for later this year, as recently confirmed, with Hulu announcing the premiere date for Futurama Season 13, but with a well-deserved twist.

Hulu is bringing back the binge release this September. The streamer has announced that all 10 episodes of Futurama Season 13 will be released on the same day.

Per Deadline, Hulu will release the entirety of Futurama Season 13 on Sept. 15, a noticeable shift in how the streamer has previously been releasing new episodes of the animated revival. When the revival returned for its eleventh and twelfth seasons in 2023 and 2024, respectively, episodes were released weekly. New episodes of Futurama were all released weekly during the show's Fox and Cartoon Network eras. Another release change coming with Season 13 is that Futurama will also be available on Hulu on Disney+ and Fxx.

Hulu has also released the logline for Futurama Season 13, which reads as follows: "Bender is rampaging out of control! A volcano is about to explode! Fry confronts a rival for Leela’s love! And Dr. Zoidberg is rising up to heaven?! The excitement might be too much!

“Futurama” has aired in many places, in many forms. After airing its initial run on Fox, the adult animated series eventually transitioned to Comedy Central, then to straight-to-dvd films and, most recently, weekly Hulu releases.

Now, the animated comedy will switch to the release format of the future: the binge model.

That’s a switch from most recent two seasons of the revival, as Hulu released Season 11 in 2023 and Season 12 in 2024 on a weekly basis. “Futurama” originally ran on broadcast, via Fox, for its first four seasons, from 1999 to 2003; it was then revived on several direct-to-dvd specials from 2007 to 2009, and then via Comedy Central between 2010 to 2013. Mike Judge has a pretty impressive resume in animation. He was the mastermind behind two of the most iconic animated series of the '90s with Beavis and Butt-Head and King of the Hill. These shows couldn't have been more different in style and tone, with the crass Beavis and Butt-Head and family-oriented Hank Hill. Audiences loved them in the '90s and still do today. Both have modern revivals either released or in production. But we shouldn't expect to see a reboot of Judge's third animated show. And don't worry if you didn't know he even had another series.

In 2009, ABC launched Judge's The Goode Family. Like King of the Hill, it also centered on a family trying their best to grapple with the issues of modern everyday life.

Fry, Leela and Bender are back. Hulu has unveiled the trailer for Season 12 of the revival of “Futurama,” set to premiere July 29 on the streamer.

The crew embarks on different adventures in the new season, including birthday party games to the death, A.I. friends and enemies, the next chapter in Fry and Leela’s romance and more.

John Dimaggio, BIlly West, Katey Sagal, Tress MacNeille, Maurice Lamarche, Lauren Tom, Phil Lamar and David Herman all return to the animated sci-fi series. Created by Matt Groening and developed by Groening and David X. Cohen, “Futurama” comes from executive producers including Groening, Cohen, Ken Keeler and Claudia Katz.

Set to return on July 29, Futurama had a new Season 12 trailer released by IGN. It reveals new footage from the upcoming season, which will consist of ten episodes. After a thousand years of .25% interest, however, that amount had grown into a fortune of 4.3 billion dollars. Thankfully, inflation hasn't kept pace, and Fry is suddenly one of the wealthiest people on the planet. As anyone with abrupt access to a massive fortune might, Fry immediately begins to squander his riches on frivolous things. He buys the Mona Lisa merely so he may use it as a clay pigeon for skeet shooting. He tries to recreate a slobby, 20th-century apartment just as he remembered it. Most notably, he buys an ancient can of anchovies at auction, a valuable commodity indeed, given that anchovies went extinct many years before. The anchovies, still sealed, are guaranteed to be edible.

Mike Judge and his Office Space cast reunited at South by Southwest Film & TV Festival for a panel discussion March 9 sponsored by The Hollywood Reporter about the beloved and influential film — a title that arguably reinvented the workplace comedy for the modern age and popularized the concept of quiet quitting. While the panel discussion tackled several intriguing aspects about the film’s creation and reception (some highlights below), Judge revealed a few extra tidbits at the post-panel reception at Austin’s The Statesman restaurant.

Former First Lady Hillary Clinton posted an encouraging message addressed to Barbie duo Greta Gerwig and Margot Robbie on Wednesday morning in response to their high-profile snubs amongst the nominations for this year’s Oscars.

“Greta & Margot. While it can sting to win the box office but not take home the gold,” Clinton began her note on X and Instagram, “your millions of fans love you.”

Barbie scored a total of eight Oscar nominations Tuesday morning, but Gerwig was not named in the Best Director category and Robbie didn’t land a Best Actress nom. Having co-written Barbie alongside Noah Baumbach, Gerwig did receive a nom in the Adapted Screenplay category.

Ryan Gosling is sharing his thoughts after Barbie star Margot Robbie and director Greta Gerwig were snubbed by the Oscars.
