More Cast and Crew Announcements for The Chair
The feature adaptation of Alterna Comics' The Chair is moving along nicely, and today we have another addition to the cast plus several new members of the crew that is being assembled for the film.

Tomas Boykin (Lazarus Rising, I Am) will portray Father Alexander, the priest who comes to read Richard Sullivan his last rites.

Joining the production team are stunt coordinator Paul Lacovara (Avengers, Godzilla, Thor), production designer Tim Eckel ("CSI," "Veronica Mars," Hellraiser 3), key grip Anthony Ragonese (Dead Man's Curve, "Desperate Housewives"), hair stylist Lisa Meyers (Gangster Squad, "Without a Trace," "Freaks and Geeks"), and iconic horror film composer Charles Bernstein (Nightmare on Elm Street, Cujo).

Brian Thompson Seated as the Lead in The Chair; Noah Hathaway Also Joins the Cast
For the past several weeks we've been talking about an upcoming feature adaptation of Alterna Comics' The Chair with the filmmakers promising that casting news for the lead was forthcoming. Well, it has arrived along with one more update...

The latest additions are Noah Hathaway (Sushi Girl, Troll, Neverending Story) rounding out the prison guard crew as Alvarez and Brian Thompson ("Buffy the Vampire Slayer," Fright Night Part 2, Star Trek: Enterprise) as the lead role of death row inmate Richard Sullivan.

Several other actors are in talks to fill out the cast, which is very close to being complete, so expect more soon!

Producer, co-writer (with Erin Kohut), and creator of the graphic novel Peter Simeti previously promised, "We are making a horror film that has as much 'brains' in it as it does 'guts'."

Have a Seat for the First Teaser Trailer for The Chair
The powers-that-be behind the film adaptation of Alterna Comics' The Chair chose the right person to appear in their new teaser trailer. The great Bill Oberst, Jr., is front and center, and we can't think of anyone better to send shivers down our spines this fine Easter Sunday!

Producer, co-writer, and creator of the graphic novel Peter Simeti previously said of the teaser, "If [it] doesn't let you know what you'll be in store for, then nothing else will. We are making a horror film that has as much 'brains' in it as it does 'guts'."

Adaptation helmer Chad Ferrin and Dave DeFino co-directed the trailer, which stars Oberst as The Warden. Also appearing in the film are Eric Roberts, Naomi Grossman, Zach Galligan, Derrick Damions, Susan Eisenberg, Ezra Buzzington, Kyle Hester, Jacob Banser, Loren Lester, Timothy Muskatell, and Kin Shriner.

More Cast Members Sit in the Chair
More casting news has come in for the latest comic book adaptation headed our way! Read on for an update on the feature adaptation of Alterna Comics' The Chair, which is to be directed by Dread Central favorite Chad Ferrin.

From the Press Release

More fan favorite actors have been attached to The Chair, based on the Alterna Comics graphic novel of the same name.

Zach Galligan (Gremlins, Hatchet III) and Kyle Hester (The Book of Daniel, Burden of Freedom) have been cast as prison guards Riley and Bowen, respectively. Ezra Buzzington (Crossbones, The Prestige), rumored before to play the part of the insane and rambling inmate Tudley, has also been attached to the cast. And rounding out these latest additions, Kin Shriner (the voice of Green Arrow in the Justice League animated series) has been cast as Officer Oliver, the officer who arrests main character, Richard Sullivan.

The web series craze hasn't seemed to catch on with the general public, but as far as the horror genre goes, we have an abundance to choose from. And today we got word of another that looks to be worth at least a few minutes of your time to check out: director and lead actor Russ Cootey's "The Resolve".

The premise is as follows:

"The Resolve" centers around Mike Patterson (Russ Cootey), a beleaguered man, gripped by O.C.D. issues with humanity, unleashed by fiery clashes on others. He explains to his therapist Sean Miller (Alex Ballar - War Wolves) how he has found a way to deal with his compulsion, which is to kill those who he believes are responsible for the misalignment in humanity.
