Another teaser trailer for the live-action remake of “Lilo & Stitch” has been released, with the feral, blue extraterrestrial taking over the football field during the Super Bowl. The brief spot aired early in the game and made it seem initially like there was something wrong with the broadcast, or an unauthorized person accidentally went onto the field.
The remake sees Maia Kealoha star as Lilo Pelekai, while Sydney Agudong plays her older sister, Nani. Stitch is voiced once again by Chris Sanders, returning from the original film. Zach Galifianakis is Stitch’s creator, Dr. Jumba Jookiba, while Billy Magnussen plays Agent Pleakley, who’s sent to accompany the wily doctor. Tia Carrere, the original voice of Nani, will also be in the remake as Mrs. Kekoa, along with Courtney B. Vance as a social worker. That Lilo & Stitch commercial that aired during the 2025 Super Bowl was adorable!
Instead of airing an actual teaser for the upcoming live-action adaptation of the classic Disney movie, the company aired a spot featuring Stitch causing mayhem on a football field.
“Wow! That thing is indestructible!” an announcer says at the end of the clip after Stitch can’t be caught by security.
The live-action adaptation of Lilo & Stitch will be released in theaters on May 23. The first teaser trailer was released back in 2024.
According to an official film synopsis, Lilo & Stitch “tells a story of the bond formed between a lonely human girl named Lilo and a dog-like alien named Stitch, who was genetically engineered to be a force of destruction. With nosy social workers and pursuing aliens banging on the door, the two bond over a shared sense of family and win the day.”

Disney’s one of the major releases during its post-animation renaissance was the animated 2002 film, Lilo & Stitch. Filmmaker Chris Sanders conceived the idea for the genetically engineered alien creature Stitch in 1985. The film was a huge success and spawned several direct-to-video films and television series. In 2025, the popular franchise will be receiving a live-action/CGI adaptation.

Sanders will be returning to the film in a voice-acting capacity, alongside newcomer child artist Maia Kealoha. The film will be directed by Dean Fleischer Camp, known for his Oscar-nominated animated film Marcel the Shell with Shoes On.

Disney is renewing nostalgia with its new marketing campaign for the upcoming live-action rendition of “Lilo & Stitch.” This campaign resembles the promotional strategies utilized for the original 2002 animated film.
The company just produced a funny teaser parodying another Disney classic, “The Lion King.” In the video, the mischievous alien Stitch tries to replicate the legendary scene where Simba is introduced to the animal kingdom. Stitch, dressed in pool floaties, is raised aloft in a lighthearted twist on the iconic Pride Rock moment. He swiftly escapes and jumps into the ocean below. This playful approach is reminiscent of the original film’s marketing campaign, which included similar spoofs.
The live-action rendition, set to open in theaters on May 23, 2025, will feature new and familiar faces. Maia Kealoha will debut as Lilo, with original voice actor Chris Sanders returning. Tia Carrere and Amy Hill will also reprise their roles in new capacities.

There may not be many NASCAR movies, but the ones that do exist are a rollicking good time on the racetrack. While racing is a sport the world over, and car racing is just as popular, particularly of late, thanks to Netflix's Drive to Survive, NASCAR is uniquely American. Developed during prohibition because bootleggers had to make their cars fast enough to outrun the cops, NASCAR was born in the backwoods of America, and it still retains that uninhibited, anything-goes edge that draws millions of viewers each year.
Cars and car chases have always been a staple of the movies. They are just a blast to see on screen, screaming through streets and deserts as the drivers try to best, beat, and occasionally, murder, one another. NASCAR movies skip any pretense and offer just what the viewers want, car racing in its purest form. Some NASCAR movies are funny,...

The Mouse House's latest live-action remake is set to arrive on May 23, 2025, pitting it against Paramount’s Mission: Impossible 8. In addition, Freaky Friday sequel Freakier Friday will bow on August 8, 2025.

Bosch's new Rene Ballard spinoff has seemingly received an official title and logo in a new behind-the-scenes photo from series star Maggie Q. Q is set to be introduced as Ballard in the upcoming Bosch: Legacy season 3, which will see the detective step onscreen for the first time. The character comes from Michael Connellys book series of the same name, having crossed over with Bosch various times throughout the authors work. Amazon recently announced she would be getting a spinoff following her debut in the parent show.
Now, on Instagram, Q posted a photo on the set of the new Bosch spinoff series, alongside Mitzi Hartert-Roberts, the real-life detective who helped inspire Connelly to create Rene Ballard. The image also features set chairs with Ballard in all caps, seemingly confirming the show's name. The lettering is red except for the "LA" in the middle, which appears to be black and white.

Ever notice that there hasn’t been a live-action Dr. Seuss movie in more than 20 years? Sure, there are plenty of animated adaptations, but real actors making Seuss magic were officially forbidden by Audrey Geisel, the wife of the late Theodore, more popularly known as Dr. Seuss. The reason for the ban can be summed up in two words: Mike Myers.
The problem was 2003’s The Cat in the Hat, the critically reviled adaptation that starred Myers. He wasn’t the first choice for the role, but once he signed on, the project took on his adolescent sense of humor, including the Cat shaking what his mama gave him in a coconut bra.
“I never saw Austin Powers, but I knew ‘Yeah, baby!’ and I didn’t want ‘Yeah, baby!’ at all,” Audrey Geisel told Today in 2004 while imitating Myers’ character in disgust. (She passed away in 2018.)

When you think of actors getting trapped in unfair contracts, your mind probably goes to the era of Old Hollywood and the studio system, when stars worked for one studio and one studio only, sometimes making as many as five films a year for their corporate bosses. This system started falling apart in 1948 due to a Supreme Court case that led to the Paramount Decrees, a group of antitrust laws that broke up the studios' Hollywood monopoly.
Though the Paramount Decrees ended in 2020, the landmark Supreme Court ruling forever changed how Hollywood operated. Of course, actors still sign contracts with studios that limit their ability to choose which projects they take on. Hollywood is a business above all else, and the bosses want to make as much money off their actors as they possibly can. As such, lawsuits between actors and studios are more common than you might think, revealing...

Lilo & Stitch is coming back in 2025, and there are good reasons this is one Disney live-action adaptation we're looking forward to!
Disney has been on a tear in the last decade with live-action adaptations of past Disney animated films. While some may slam them as inferior compared to the originals, the box office successes of Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin, and The Little Mermaid show there is an audience for them. True, some have been less than stellar (Pinocchio), and hopes for the upcoming Snow White are low, to say the least.
Yet Lilo & Stitch is different. The 2002 film was arguably the last great hand-drawn animated Disney film, grossing $273 million. It spawned its own cartoon series spin-off, the Stitch's Great Escape ride at Disney World and the character is still popular. So having it join the live-action trend seems inevitable and there's reasons to be excited for it.

The new Bosch spinoff series centering on Renée Ballard has cast four series regulars joining Maggie Q, Courtney Taylor and John Carroll Lynch: Michael Mosley (Ozark), Rebecca Field (A Star is Born), Victoria Moroles (Teen Wolf) and Amy Hill (Magnum P.I.).
The untitled series follows Detective Renée Ballard (Q), who is tasked with running the LAPD’s new cold case division — a poorly funded, all-volunteer unit with the largest caseload in the city. Ballard approaches these frozen-in-time cases with empathy and determination. When she uncovers a larger conspiracy during her investigations, she’ll lean on the assistance of her retired ally, Harry Bosch, to navigate the dangers that threaten both her unit and her life.

When the live-action adaptation of ‘The Cat in the Hat’ premiered in November 2003, it primarily targeted late Millennials and early Gen Z viewers. As a young audience, they were mostly oblivious to the film’s many adult jokes. Instead, they delighted in the memorable musical numbers, the vibrant color palette of every scene, and the playful comedy. Now, 21 years later, that same audience has grown up and often remembers the movie as either a comical fever dream or a childhood nightmare. From the many reviews I've read about this movie, it's clear that it didn't live up to many people's expectations upon release. Movie critics hoped for something that truly depicted the book—something more wholesome, rather than an oversized cat making adult jokes every few minutes. One critic remarked, “The Cat in the Hat comes scarily close to being the most unendurable Hollywood creation of the last dozen years.

Released originally in 2002, Disney’s Lilo & Stitch is still one of the most beloved and popular animated films of the 21st century. The story of an energetic and misunderstood alien who is a space criminal but is actually a very good guy and his human friend from Hawaii captured the hearts of many fans, both old and young. The film spawned a sequel and several television series, but of course – with Disney recycling its animated films into live-action versions – a live-action adaptation of the movie is on the way, and we can confirm that the movie will be released later this year on Disney+ and that it will be a streaming-exclusive release that won’t be shown in theaters as far as things stand now.
The movie was initially foreshadowed in 2018, but production took a while, being finished after six years, as things stand now. Although we have to be fair,...

“Praise Petey” has been canceled after just one season at Freeform.
Series creator Anna Drezen shared the news in an Instagram post on Nov. 13. In the post, Drezen wrote, “I cannot believe we got to make this show. Best crew, best cast, top to bottom the dream of my life to make something this funny and unwell that went on actual television. I have heard that making a non-ip show during covid that premieres during a double strike in the dead of summer was not ideal for viewership. It’s still on Hulu as of right now, if you want to watch it you should do it soon. Thanks to everyone who watched and loved these characters as much as I did, and biggest thanks to Alex Jones and Charlie Kirk for bravely yelling about the show when the actors couldn’t. Will never forget you.”
