Norman Reedus rides down a volcano in Hawaii in fierce cross-winds on this week’s episode of Ride with Norman Reedus — in an experience which he jokes left him “screaming like a girl”. The Walking Dead star said the scene, filmed as he and photographer Patrick Hoelck traveled across the Big Island, felt like a “near-death experience”. Scott Caan has kind of a blocky build, brawny even - barrel-chested, short-waisted. He also has a perhaps-genetically infused look of cockiness that gives him the air of the punk, even when he's guarded about his body language. The 15th edition of the Gen Art Film Festival closed out in New York City on Tuesday night with "Tanner Hall," "happythankyoumoreplease" and "The Hirosake Players" among the top winners at the event. The 15th Annual Gen Art Film Festival comes to a close tonight with the premiere of Mercy, directed by Patrick Hoelck and starring Scott Caan (who also wrote the script), and though the film is apparently sold out, I believe there's still room for you to slide in to the after party over at New York City's famed Blvd nightclub (check the official Gen Art site for more details). For those who missed it, this year's festival was a blast -- the films played great, the weather was fantastic and the after parties went all night. Raise your hand if you made it out for at least one of the nights. What did you see? Did you like it? Did you enjoy your festival experience?

Chicago – The Gen Art Film Festival here had red carpet events last week for two movie premieres, “(500) Days of Summer” with star Joseph Gordon-Levitt and director Marc Webb, plus “Mercy” with star and writer Scott Caan.

The child actor favorite of “Third Rock from the Sun” is all grown up and is making a splash in the independent and now mainstream film world. Following stellar performances in “Brick” (2005) and “The Lookout” (2007), Gordon-Levitt is excellent in his latest, a relationship comedy directed by Marc Webb. Look also for G-l in this summer’s “G.I. Joe: The Rise of the Cobra”.

Hue Rhodes' "Saint John of Las Vegas" will have its world premiere as the opening-night film at the 11th annual CineVegas Film Festival, which will be held June 10-15 at the Palms Casino Resort and Brenden Theatres in Las Vegas. The film stars Steve Buscemi as an ex-gambler-turned-fraud investigator who returns to Vegas to investigate an insurance claim.

"Saint John" also stars Sarah Silverman, Romany Malco, Peter Dinklage, Tim Blake Nelson, John Cho and Emmanuelle Chriqui.

Eight other films will have their world premieres at the fest, overseen by artistic director Trevor Groth.

Slated in the narrative competition, they are Rania Ajami's "Asylum Seekers," a story of six people trying to escape modern life; David Barker's "Daylight," about a pregnant woman caught in a life-or-death situation; Kyle Patrick Alvarez's "Easier With Practice," based on the true story of a writer's long-distance relationship with a mysterious woman; Jeff Mizushima's "Etienne!
