  • Portrayed radio's Green Hornet from 31 January, 1936 to 1 January, 1944. He also was one of the trio of directors who worked on radio's "Lone Ranger" series over its lifespan.
  • Al Hodge portrayed Captain Video on recorded audio versions of Captain Video episodes for RCA Victor records.
  • Al wrote a chapter, "Captain Video's Toughest Mission" (pp. 164-167), for the 1954 book "Faith Made Them Champions" (Guideposts Associates Inc., Carmel, NY), a collection of inspirational stories by celebrities.
  • Al played Captain Video (with cast members Don Hastings, Ben Lackland and Fred Scott) in two episodes on RCA Victor record VY-2009: "Captain Video and the Captives of Saturn".
  • He did some rare comedy work when he co-starred on the Mel Blanc Show in the October 15, 1946 episode "Postman's Ball".
  • Played Archie Andrews' father Fred Andrews on the "Archie Andrews" radio series.
  • Producer and director of radio's "Challenge of the Yukon" (later renamed "Sergeant King of the Yukon") which originated in 1938 over WXYZ in Detroit, Michigan.
