The fourth and final season of “Evil” will premiere Thursday, May 23, on Paramount+, the streamer announced Monday. Production recently began in New York City on the previously announced four bonus episodes. Season 4 will include 14 episodes premiering weekly.

The series is a psychological thriller that investigates the origins of evil and the church’s unexplained mysteries including demonic possession. The official description of the upcoming season reads: “Kristen, David and Ben continue to assess cases that involve wayward technology, possessed pigs, demonic oppression and infestation, a dance muse conjured by alleged witches and an evil relic.”

The series stars Katja Herbers, Mike Colter, Aasif Mandvi, Michael Emerson, Kurt Fuller, Andrea Martin, Christine Lahti, Brooklyn Shuck, Skylar Gray, Maddy Crocco and Dalya Knapp.

The one-minute teaser for the fourth and confirmed final season of Paramount+’s Evil may be short on clips but still manages to capture the series’ tone. At one point, Ben asks, “Doesn’t it seem like these assignments are getting weirder?” and Kristen replies, “I can’t even tell anymore.”

Paramount+ today announced that the final season of fan-favorite and critically acclaimed original series Evil will premiere this May.

With every scoop of good news comes the bad, and this is about as bad as it gets.

Four bonus episodes have been added to Evil Season 4 by the streaming service and are set to begin production soon in New York City for a thrilling series finale.

Was I the only one who had no idea Evil was on the chopping block? If we know anything after enjoying three seasons of Evil so far, it's that the devil works in mysterious ways.

The series was renewed for a fourth season back in June 2022, though it was not reported at the time that it would be the final season. New episodes of the series will debut in May, with Paramount+ also ordering four bonus episodes to supplement the season. Production will begin on the new episodes in New York City in the coming weeks.

Seth MacFarlane’s Fuzzy Door is expanding the executive team under president Erica Huggins with the hire of former Marvel Television exec Aimee Carlson as SVP.

Reporting to Huggins, Carlson will work to grow Fuzzy Door’s slate spanning drama, comedy and areas such as science, history, politics and music across film, television, digital and animation. Additionally, Fuzzy Door has brought in 6th & Idaho’s Sam Hoffman as Creative Executive.

Carlson, a 18-year industry veteran, recently served as VP of Original Programming at Marvel Television where she oversaw Marvel’s Cloak & Dagger and additional development projects. Prior to Marvel, she was VP of Digital for Ucp and eventually transitioned back to the TV side, developing several Ucp series, including Difficult People, Harmonquest, Childhood’s End, Channel Zero, Umbrella Academy and Happy!.

She is now returning to Ucp where Fuzzy Door is based under the company’s blockbuster deal with Universal Studio Group.

UK sales outfit Reason8 has scored a raft of deals on three of the films on its Afm slate.

Humor Me, the comedy starring Jemaine Clement (Flight Of The Conchords) and Elliott Gould (Ocean’s Eleven), has now sold to Australia/New Zealand (Madman), Scandinavia (Smile Ent), Central and Eastern Europe premium pay (HBO Cee), and the Middle East (Front Row Entertainment).

Written and directed by Sam Hoffman, the film premiered at last year’s Los Angeles Film Festival and played Edinburgh in the UK this year. Shout! Factory handled the Us release.

London-based sales agent Reason8 has boosted its European Film Market (Efm) slate with two new acquisitions and has also scored its first deals on sci-fi A Rough Draft.

The company has picked up international rights to Sam Hoffman’s Humour Me, a comedy starring Jemaine Clement (Flight Of The Conchords) and Elliot Gould (Ocean’s Eleven) that is currently on release in the Us.

Director Hoffman is the creator of popular web series Old Jews Telling Jokes, which has since been adapted into a TV series.

Reason8 has also picked up children’s fantasy adventure 2:hrs, which is written by Roland Moore and stars 2017 Children’s Bafta winner Alhaji Fofana. The film tells the story of a slacker schoolboy who discovers that he only has two hours left to live. Producers are Andromeda Godfrey and Diana Juhr-De Benedetti.

Separately, Reason8 has also inked multiple deals on its upcoming fantasy thriller A Rough Draft, which it is screening in the market in Berlin. Ahead of the film’s release via Sony/Columbia in Russia on March 15, the film has now sold to German-speaking Europe (Capelight Pictures), Baltics (Acme), Malaysia (Suraya Filem), and Vietnam, Indonesia and Taiwan (Purple Plan).

Reason8’s Efm slate also includes Gareth Tunley’s The Ghoul, Anton Sigurdsson’s Women and Easter European comedy Dzidzio Contrabass.

First Run Features has picked up domestic home video rights to "Old Jews Telling Jokes," a Web video series created and directed by Sam Hoffman from Jetpack Media, the Internet production company created by GreeneStreet Films.

"Jews" has registered more than 1.5 million video plays since the series launched Jan. 30. It also was a top 10 video podcast on iTunes for several weeks.

Inspired by Hoffman's memories of growing up around his father's friends and family, all accomplished storytellers and joke tellers, it is produced by GreeneStreet co-president Tim Williams and Jetpack head Eric Spiegelman.
