Image
Morgan Wallen follows up Dangerous: The Double Album with what can arguably be called a triple: One Thing at a Time, loaded with 36 tracks, drops March 3rd.

Among the glut of songs on the album is Wallen’s current hit “You Proof,” the song he wrote for his mother, “Thought You Should Know,” and one he recently teased from a hunting blind on social media, “Keith Whitley,” named after the Country Music Hall of Fame singer who died from alcohol poisoning in 1989.

One Thing at a Time also includes a number of guest shots,...

Maddie & Tae Riff on ‘Clueless,’ ‘Risky Business’ in ‘Woman You Got’ Video
Image
Maddie & Tae riff on classic movies, dance around the kitchen, and eat fried chicken while riding stationary bikes in a charming video for their song “Woman You Got.” The song, which was released as a single in March, is the first preview of the follow-up to their album The Way It Feels.

In keeping with the song’s theme of celebrating someone, flaws and all, the “Woman You Got” video plays up the quirks and comedic chops of Maddie Font (neé Marlow) and Tae Kerr (neé Dye). In the opening scene,...

Kenny Chesney at an event for Invictus (2009)
Hear Florida Georgia Line Embrace Diversity in New ‘People Are Different’
Kenny Chesney at an event for Invictus (2009)
Florida Georgia Line have released “People Are Different,” the latest track from the group’s upcoming 2019 album Can’t Say I Ain’t Country.

Following in a similar path to recent hits like Kenny Chesney’s “Get Along” and Luke Bryan’s “Most People Are Good,” Fgl’s latest offering, a pensive down-tempo soft-rock ballad, preaches the embracing of difference and diversity, “no matter what shape, no matter what color.”

The track features lead singer Tyler Hubbard rattling off a list of opposites: “Left wing / right wing / jailhouse / freedom ring / old-school / new-school / everything in between,...

What should be on the Oscar shortlist for best song?
The longlist for the Best Song category in the Oscars has been announced – so what should make the cut?

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has announced the longlist of songs for its Best Original Song Oscar in 2014, ahead of the nominations for the shortlist on January 14.

The list features 75 songs written for movies over the last year, with artists including Taylor Swift, Beyoncé, U2, Coldplay, Kings Of Leon, Karen O of the Yeah Yeah Yeahs and M83 all making the grade. Pharrell is included for his hit Happy, currently in the top 5 of the UK charts, which appears in Despicable Me 2, and other animated films make up a large proportion of those selected: Epic, Turbo, The Croods, Planes, Escape From Planet Earth and Monsters University all also get a mention.

The Great Gatsby, with its bold and incongruous soundtrack of modern musicians, gets five mentions for songs by Jay Z,...
