The entire Friday trilogy is available for streaming on HBO's Max streaming service.Friday, Next Friday, and Friday After Next were all added to the Max streaming library on April 1, just a day before it was announced that a fourth Friday had officially entered development.

Co-written by Ice Cube and DJ Pooh, directed by F. Gary Gray, and produced by New Line Productions alongside Cube Vision, 1995's Friday starred Ice Cube as Craig Jones, a Los Angeles slacker whose life in South Central largely consists of peddling small amounts of weed with his friend Smokey, portrayed by Chris Tucker, and avoiding mooches and bullies like Anglea Means' Felicia and Tiny Lister Jr.'s Deebo.

'Easy Way for Them to Cancel the Show': A League of Their Own Star on the 'Scapegoat' That Doomed the Series
Image
A League of Their Own star and co-creator Abbi Jacobson recently discussed last year's cancellation of the Prime Video series, suggesting that the reason it got the axe was a "scapegoat" excuse. Following the initial renewal of the fan-favorite show for a four-episode second and final season in early 2023, Amazon canceled it in mid-2023, citing the delays caused by the WGA strike as the prime reason.

Jacobson, who played Carson Shaw, the catcher and one of the coaches for the Rockford Peaches in the series, told Collider that the strike was used as an easy excuse to shelve A League of Their Own. "I was just talking to someone about this yesterday. Listen, I think a lot of networks and studios canceled things when the strike was happening," she said. "Was the strike a part of the cancellation? Yes. But did it feel, also, that the strike was an easy...

No Good Deed (Season 1) ‘Netflix’ Review, Recap, & Ending Explained: What Happened on the Night of Jacob’s Death?
Lisa Kudrow
Lisa Kudrow and Ray Romano have been the sitcom darlings of yesteryear. Through their work in Friends and Everybody Loves Raymond, they have become prominent figures in both film and television. However, besides a few exceptions, they have not shown the full extent of their dramatic acting skills. “No Good Deed” on Netflix offers them both a chance to be grounded performers who can effectively portray the gravity and the complexity of grief. This dark comedy, written by Liz Feldman, shows Kudrow and Romano as a middle-aged couple trying to sell their house a while after their son’s unfortunate death.

The series mainly revolves around the mystery behind the son’s death to realize the cause and the culprit behind a shocking turn of events. While doing so, it digs deeper into the lives of three families, who hope to buy their house.

Spoilers ahead.

‘No Good Deed’ Cast and Character Guide: Who’s Who in Netflix’s Mystery Series?
Image
Liz Feldman is back with a new series called “No Good Deed,” and just as she did in her Netflix series “Dead to Me,” she’s set up a pretty good mystery.

Now streaming on Netflix, the show centers on Paul and Lydia, who are trying to sell their very popular and desired home. For them, it’s become haunted after their son was killed there three years earlier.

His death is labeled a casualty of a home invasion, but nothing is quite what it seems on this one. And there are plenty of potential suspects in and around the neighborhood.

Here are the faces you’ll need to know.

Netflix Lydia Morgan (Lisa Kudrow)

Lydia Morgan is a renowned pianist, but after her son is killed, she can’t keep her hands from shaking and temporarily loses her ability to play. She’s brought to life by “Friends” and “Time Bandits” star Lisa Kudrow.

No Good Deed Review: We’re Not Sold on Netflix’s Star-Studded But Flimsy Real Estate Comedy
Image
Real estate can be life or death in Los Angeles. And that’s literally the case in the new comedy No Good Deed — now streaming on Netflix; I’ve seen four of the eight episodes — with a bevy of eager buyers scrambling to land a gorgeous dream home… a scramble that they all might not survive. This certainly feels like fertile ground for a dark comedy, and Netflix has assembled a ridiculously loaded cast to bring it to life, led by sitcom greats Ray Romano and Lisa Kudrow. But the foundation here is shaky: A wildly erratic tone and an...

No Good Deed Review — Too Much Plot, Too Little Time
Image
What would you do if an already naturally stressful life event became about 1000x more stressful? That’s one of the questions No Good Deed, Netflix’s new dark comedy drama, asks. It’s a fun setup. With also asking the big picture question of what it means to be a family and what one will do to protect that vision (along with a stacked cast), this could have been a massive hit. Unfortunately the whole ends up being less than the individual parts.

‘No Good Deed’ Review: Lisa Kudrow and Ray Romano Bring Humor and Pathos to Netflix’s Chaotic Comic Mystery
Image
Halfway through Netflix’s No Good Deed, Lydia Morgan (Lisa Kudrow), a former concert pianist now embroiled in the madness of trying to sell her house, reflects on a repetitively heightened situation, sighs and says, “I’m so sorry and I can’t believe this is happening again.”

I Can’t Believe This Is Happening Again could have been a good title for Liz Feldman’s Dead to Me, a murky comedy about female friendship and murder that managed to take a tenuously thin premise and elongate it over three seasons by virtue of wild and sometimes illogical pivots, plus the truly exceptional work from stars Christina Applegate and Linda Cardellini. It was an exhaustingly paced show and, by its series finale, it put you through an emotional ringer as well. But if you had the patience for Feldman’s dogged approach, it was rewarding.

That makes No Good Deed...

No Good Deed Cast & Character Guide

Netflix's No Good Deed pulls off its big dark-comedy mystery with a star-studded cast. The series follows Paul and Lydia Morgan as they put the Los Feliz house on the market and gain the attention of three couples, all desperate to have their bid accepted. However, the process of selling and buying in No Good Deed quickly unveils a variety of secrets on all parts. There's something dark and mysterious going on at the Morgan home, but the cast of No Good Deed brings the perfect mix of comedy to even it all out.

No Good Deed comes from Dead to Me creator Liz Feldman, and the cast is just packed full of notable names. The pack is led by Lisa Kudrow and Ray Romano, who both give unique performances as the emotionally devistating but strangely funny Lydia and Paul. ‘Bel-Air’ Renewed For Fourth & Final Season By Peacock
Image
Exclusive: Bel-Air, which helped put Peacock on the original series map, will be coming to an end. The modern-day drama reimagining of the popular ‘90s sitcom The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air has been picked up for a fourth season, which will be its last. According to sources, the final season will consist of eight episodes, fewer than the 10 episodes in each of the first three seasons.

The renewal comes three months after Bel-Air, produced by Universal Television and Westbrook Studios, released its Season 3 finale on Sept. 5. According to sources, it was preceded by behind-the-scenes budget conversations, which could explain the delay. The most recent Season 3 renewal came ahead of the series’ Season 2 finale.

Peacock stepped up in a major way to land Bel-Air in a very competitive situation when the project was taken out in 2020, handing the drama, based on Morgan Cooper’s viral four-minute spec trailer, a two-season pickup.

‘Me Time’ Review: Kevin Hart and Mark Wahlberg in Sub-Par Netflix Buddy Comedy
Image
Click here to read the full article.

Middle-aged men acting stupidly has sadly become a cinematic staple in an era marked by the celebration of refusing to grow up as a way of life. Any doubts that the new Netflix comedy starring Kevin Hart and Mark Wahlberg will buck the trend are immediately dispelled in the opening moments featuring daredevil stunts (not performed by the stars, natch) and broad pratfalls that wouldn’t have been out of place in the silent era. Sadly, Me Time doesn’t get any more sophisticated from there.

Director/screenwriter John Hamburg (Along Came Polly, I Love You, Man) has long demonstrated a delight for finding humor in strong personality differences. Such is the case with best friends Sonny (Hart), a devoted dad who stays home to take care of his two young kids while his successful architect wife Maya (Regina Hall, too good for...

Kevin Hart & Mark Wahlberg Get Wild in Comedy 'Me Time' Trailer
Mark Wahlberg and Kevin Hart in Me Time (2022)
"Every parent's dream is to spend a week without their family" Netflix has revealed the first official trailer for Me Time, a new comedy from writer / director John Hamburg. Who's ready for another absurd and crazy Kevin Hart Netflix project?? When a stay-at-home dad finds himself with some “me time” for the first time in years while his family is away, he reconnects with his former best friend for a wild weekend that nearly upends his life. Mark Wahlberg co-stars with Kevin Hart, and a huge ensemble cast including Regina Hall, Luis Gerardo Méndez, Jimmy O. Yang, plus John Amos, Anna Maria Horsford, Andrew Santino, Deborah S. Craig, Naomi Ekperigin, and Drew Droege. This looks so stupid, there's no way to not admit this about it, especially when they get into this wingsuit scene at the end. This is campy 90s crap that wasn't supposed to be in movies ...

2022 Emmy nominations ballot: See all 48 Best TV Movie contenders from ‘Adventures in Christmasing’ to ‘Zoey’s Extraordinary Christmas’
Image
The made-for-tv movie was a programming staple for the broadcast networks in the 1970s and 1980s. While it fell out of favor in the 1990s and was even dropped as an Emmy Awards category for three years beginning in 2011, it has been on an upswing as of late. This year, 48 telefilms are in contention for the five nominations that will be revealed on July 12; last year, only 41 TV movies were submitted.

All 22,000 plus voting members of the TV academy have until June 27 to cast their 2022 Emmy Awards nominations ballots for their favorite TV movies. In the past, voters were limited in the number of telefilms that they could put forth. In 2017, that cap (which was usually 10 per category) was lifted. And, as opposed to the Oscars, voters for the Emmys do not rank their choices and nominees are determined by a simple tally.
