Movie Review: Trust, Grade: B+
You can hardly turn to a current events magazine nowadays without finding an article on "Internet: Good or Evil?" The devil's advocates are fond of saying that when you talk to your virtual friends, you are missing out on quality time with real friends, those you can see and touch in your own neighborhood. Jackie Mason did shtick about the people in New York who communicate feverishly with climbers near Mt. Everest while they do not say even "hello" to their neighbors in the elevator.

Sarah Polley's 'Take This Waltz' Begins Production
After Away From Her, Canadian actress Sarah Polley will direct a second film. As a matter of fact, production has begun today in Toronto for the Canadian film Take This Waltz, Polley's second directorial work.

The film's story can be described like this according to the folks at IonCinema.com:

When 28-year-old Margot (Michelle Williams) meets Daniel (Luke Kirby), their chemistry is intense and immediate. Sarah Polley adds to Toronto 'Waltz' cast
Toronto -- Sarah Polley's romantic drama "Take This Waltz" has added Diana D'Aquila, Dustin Peters and Aaron Abrams to its cast ahead of a July shoot in Toronto.

The indie pic about choices made in sticky romantic triangle earlier unveiled star billing for Seth Rogen, Michelle Williams and Sarah Silverman.

The latest talent added includes Jean-Michel Le Gal, who appeared in a recent short film by Polley, "The Heart," Aaron Abrams, Albert Howell and Danielle Miller.

Filling out the cast will be Matt Baram, Avi Phillips and Diane Flacks.

Polley, who penned the script for "Take This Waltz," will share the producer credits with Susan Cavan of Accent Entertainment.

Mongrel Media, which released Polley's last film, "Away From Her," will distribute her latest directorial effort across Canada.

TF1 International has been pre-selling "Take This Waltz" internationally.

Winners at the 14th Wgc Awards
Yesterday, the ceremony of the Writers Guild of Canada Awards was hosted by comedian Debra Digiovanni. During that night, the winners, who work either in the film or television industry, were revealed.

Dishing out the awards were special guest presenters including Yannick Bisson (Murdoch Mysteries), Kristin Booth (Crackie, Young People Fucking), Inga Cadranel (The Bridge, Rent-a-Goalie), Enrico Colantoni (Flashpoint), and screenwriters Mark Farrell (Corner Gas, Dan for Mayor), Michael McGowan (Saint Ralph, One Week), Jennifer Pertsch (6Teen, Total Drama Island), Christin Simms (Captain Flamingo, Dino Dan), Shelley Eriksen (ReGenesis) and Leila Basen & David Preston (Heartland).

The Writers Guild of Canada (Wgc) just announced the finalists for the Wgc Screenwriting Awards. Those finalists come from the industry of television, filmmaking and web series. Besides, comedian Debra Digiovanni will host the 14th Annual Wgc Screenwriting Awards on April 19, 2010.

Canadian Screenwriting Awards unveiled

TORONTO -- "Corner Gas", Canada's most popular TV sitcom, earned writers Mark Farrell and Robert Sheridan top honors for best half-hour comedy as the 2008 Canadian Screenwriting Awards were handed out here Monday night.

Denis McGrath and Robert Wertheimer grabbed the writing trophy for best one-hour drama for "Across the River to Motor City", while Travis McDonald picked up the movie script award for his work on Carl Bessai's "Normal".

Organized by the Writers Guild of Canada, the show also saw Peter Mohan (Blood Ties, Mutant X) awarded the prize for top showrunner.
