Zootropolis 2 Trailer: Judy Hopps And Nick Wilde Are Buddy Cop Partners In Crisis In Disney Sequel
Image
Here's something to make you feel old on a Wednesday evening: it has been nine years — yes, nearly a whole decade — since Disney's Zootropolis first hit cinemas. But, thanks to the magic of the movies, in Jared Bush and Byron Howard's upcoming Zootropolis 2 it turns out it's only actually been a week since rookie rabbit cop Judy Hopps (Ginnifer Goodwin) and wily fox Nick Wilde (Jason Bateman) were made official crimefighting partners down at the Zpd. And if the newly released trailer for the buddy-cop duo's (or should that be bunny-cop duo?) return is anything to go by, then it looks like there's trouble in paw-ridise for Hopps and Wilde when we rejoin them here. Check it out below;

Don't say we didn't warn ya! Yep, barely a week after Hopps and Wilde went official (in the working sense) at the end of Zootropolis, this first full trailer...

'Zootopia 2' Trailer Offers Best Look Yet at Disney's Animated Sequel
Image
Disney has unveiled an exciting new trailer for Zootopia 2, offering fans their best look yet at its long-awaited animated sequel. Ginnifer Goodwin and Jason Bateman reprise their voice roles as Judy Hopps and Nick Wilde in the latest footage that sees the beloved detective duo return nearly a decade after their first big-screen outing, which became a billion-dollar hit at the worldwide box office. They are finally back in action and doing what they do best in the mammal metropolis, with only a small detour to "dysfunction junction" en route to the big city.

The trailer for Zootopia 2 sees Hopps and Wilde attending group counseling for seemingly mismatched police partners, overseen by Dr. Fuzzby, an adorable quokka who is small in stature but wise with words. The voice might be familiar to viewers as it hails from Abbott Elementary star and creator Quinta Brunson. "Welcome to 'Partners in Crisis.

Nick and Judy in Therapy? New ‘Zootopia 2’ Trailer Teases Trouble, Snakes, and Surprises
Image
The new trailer for Zootopia 2 just dropped, and it looks like Judy Hopps and Nick Wilde aren’t exactly living the dream. The bunny and fox are back, but not everything is sunshine and teamwork. In fact, they’re in couples therapy. Well, kind of.

As shown in the teaser released by Walt Disney Animation Studios, Judy and Nick have been working as official police partners for just a week. But already, their clashing personalities are causing problems, so much so that Chief Bogo, voiced again by Idris Elba, sends them to therapy. The sessions are led by a therapist named Dr. Fuzzby, played by Abbott Elementary star Quinta Brunson.

Judy, voiced by Ginnifer Goodwin, seems frustrated but hopeful in the trailer, while Nick (Jason Bateman) stays his usual sarcastic self. The therapy isn’t optional, either. Chief Bogo makes it clear they need to fix their issues fast,...

‘Zootopia 2’ Trailer Sends Nick & Judy to Couples Therapy — Trouble in Paw-radise?
Image
“Zootopia 2” is heading to theaters on November 26, 2025, and fans are finally getting a look at what Judy Hopps and Nick Wilde have been up to since their first big adventure. Turns out, things between the bunny and the fox aren’t going as smoothly as you’d expect. In fact, they’re now in therapy. Yep, couples therapy… sort of.

The latest trailer shows the two police partners meeting with a therapist, played by Quinta Brunson. It’s not exactly romantic therapy, though. As Judy points out, they’ve only been official police partners for a week. Still, things are rocky enough that Chief Bogo (voiced again by Idris Elba) has forced them into partner counseling. If they don’t fix their issues, he’s ready to break up the team.

Judy and Nick are facing a new mystery involving a snake named Gary De’Snake. He’s voiced...

Walt Disney Animation Chief Jared Bush Says Diversity Is ‘Crucial’ to the Studio’s Success
Image
Annecy, France – Somehow, this year was Jared Bush’s first time at the Annecy International Animation Film Festival.

Last fall, Bush was named the chief creative officer for Walt Disney Animation Studios — arguably the most important job in animation. He was no stranger to Disney; for the past 10 years he’s served as part of the studio’s creative leadership, advising on new projects and helping out when things go astray. He wrote and co-directed “Zootopia,” wrote “Moana,” co-wrote and directed “Encanto,” and co-wrote “Moana 2.” Next up, he co-wrote and directed “Zootopia 2” (out this Thanksgiving) and co-wrote the live-action “Moana” (for next summer).

The man with the most important job in animation was, before that, one of the busiest people in animation. Still, his appearance at Annecy in France this month was a critical showing as he steps more fully into the leadership role at an inflection point for Walt Disney Animation,...

Disney’s Dazzling ‘Zootopia 2’ Footage Explores New Corners of the Animal-Filled Metropolis
Image
Disney’s “Zootopia 2” is finally arriving in theaters on Nov. 26, 2026.

The sequel to the 2016 film, which grossed over $1 billion globally and won the Academy Award for Best Animated Feature, is one of the most anticipated movies in the history of the studio. And “Zootopia 2” director Jared Bush, who also happens to be the chief creative officer of Walt Disney Animation Studios, was on hand at the Annecy International Animation Film Festival on Friday to show off the first footage from the movie.

A minor spoiler warning should probably be issued here, if you want to go in cold.

Bush began his presentation by saying that “Zootopia 2,” which reunites him with original co-director Byron Howard, designer Cory Loftis, composer Michael Giacchino and many others, follows rabbit Judy Hopps (Ginnifer Goodwin) and sly fox Nick Wilde (Jason Bateman) immediately after the events of the first film. They might have...

Jared Bush Gives Sneak Peek at Disney’s ‘Zootopia 2’ at Annecy

Walt Disney Animation Studios pulled back the curtain on Zootopia 2 on Friday, offering the first major preview of the highly anticipated sequel during a packed presentation at the Annecy international animation film festival.

The sequel to Disney’s 2016 Oscar-winning hit reunites audiences with rabbit police officer Judy Hopps and former con-artist fox Nick Wilde as they investigate a mysterious new arrival in the mammal metropolis: a reptile named Gary De’Snake (voiced by Everything Everywhere All At Once star Ke Huy Quan).

Bush revealed they cast Quan after spotting the excitable Oscar-winner doing an interview on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert and decided he had exactly the right energy to play Gary the venomous but misunderstood snake.

Image
Once upon a time in the magical world of Disney, a charming rogue named Flynn Rider not only stole Rapunzel’s heart with his smirk and pan-flipping skills—but also captivated every female audience member. Voiced by Zachary Levi, Flynn galloped into Tangled and helped Disney rake in a staggering $592M at the box office.

But behind the floating lights, Rapunzel’s desirable blonde hair, and high tower, there was a hilarious, almost tragic tale of how this film took a toll on being a man. And it all started after director Byron Howard began researching about women’s choices in men—you know the smoldering look, the sharp jawline, and all. So, while Levi became Disney’s hot guy, Howard and his team paid the emotional price.

Zootopia 2 just released the oddest (and catchiest) Disney trailer yet
Image
The rabbit-fox duo Judy Hopps and Nick Wilde are back! The first trailer for Zootopia 2 just arrived (exactly at 9 am Pt/12 pm Et), featuring their co-lead for the sequel, Gary De’Snake (voiced by Ke Hey Quan), and it looks like a fun time is in the works.

The teaser is a unique one, the most unusual out of any marketing material from Disney's main animated studio, even when compared to the first movie’s teaser, which featured Nick narrating. This new teaser turns up the jam, and it works to a tremendous benefit.

For one, there is no dialogue for the entire sequence, only an Edm track entitled “Zutu”, performed by the Zootopia lemming techno group Lemeens, who start and bookend the trailer. With the first movie featuring a certified banger from Shakira, "Zutu" follows that up with a way catchier beat.

Another is featuring several unseen areas of Zootopia,...

Disney’s Zootopia 2 teaser trailer channels Kraftwerk while starting the party for the long-awaited sequel
Image
I don’t know about you, but the last thing I expected from the first teaser for Disney‘s Zootopia 2 is an homage to the German electronic band Kraftwerk! Unless I’m way off base, the rodents at the teaser’s start look like the band from Düsseldorf founded in 1970, right down to how they take position atop a Catsio keyboard to lay down an electronic groove and get the party started. The Zootopia 2 Trailer Is Barely A Trailer (Because Disney Knows It's Gonna Make A Billion Dollars Anyway)
Image
Good news for predators, prey, and those who are still undecided: The first trailer for "Zootopia 2" has arrived, featuring the return of crime-solving animal duo Nick Wilde (Jason Bateman) and Judy Hopps (Ginnifer Goodwin). This time around, their pursuit of a wanted reptile called Gary De'Snake (Ke Huy Quan) flings them into a fresh mystery, and the case takes them undercover in the semi-aquatic neighborhood of Marsh Market.

The first "Zootopia" movie was released back in 2016 and grossed more than a billion dollars at the box office. Rather than jumping directly into a sequel, writer-directors Jared Bush and Byron Howard moved on to make another original movie for Disney Animation Studios, "Encanto," which got a whole lot of people singing about why we don't talk about Bruno. In the interim, an anthology miniseries called "Zootopia+" -- featuring six stories centered around side characters -- was released on Disney+.

‘Zootopia 2’ Trailer: Disney Sequel Introduces New Animals, Including Ke Huy Quan’s Mysterious Snake
Image
The teaser trailer for “Zootopia 2” has been released, and Judy and Nick are back in investigation mode.

Ginnifer Goodwin (“Once Upon a Time”) and Jason Bateman (“Ozark”) return to their animated roles as Judy Hopps and Nick Wilde, respectively, alongside a cast of new animal characters. In the sequel, Judy and Nick put their detective skills to use as they tackle another case. The original “Zootopia” followed bunny cop Judy and con-artist fox Nick as they solved a missing animals case.

“Everything Everywhere All at Once” star Ke Huy Quan joins the cast as the snake Gary, as the “Zootopia” world expands to include reptiles and other semi-aquatic creatures.

In the teaser trailer, Nick, Judy, and Gary are seen being chased by police through various districts of Zootopia. Along the way, they encounter a mysterious hooded figure with glowing eyes.

The teaser then cuts to a montage of both familiar and new characters,...

‘Zootopia 2’ Trailer: The Disney Sequel Introduces Reptiles with Ke Huy Quan’s Mysterious Snake
Image
Disney dropped the trailer for “Zootopia 2,” the long-awaited sequel to the billion-dollar Best Animated Feature Oscar winner from 2016. This not only marks the return of rookie cops Judy Hopps (Ginnifer Goodwin) and Nick Wilde (Jason Bateman), but also introduces reptiles for the first time to their mammal metropolis.

The buddy comedy finds Hopps, the police department’s first rabbit cop, working full-time with Wilde, the sly fox and former grifter. They investigate a crime in Marsh Market, where the first reptile is spotted. Who is prime suspect Gary De’Snake (Oscar winner Quan Kế Huy), the venomous pit viper? And what is he doing in Marsh Market?

Jared Bush, Disney Animation’s chief creative officer, wrote and directed with Byron Howard, who directed “Zootopia with Rich Moore (“Wreck-It Ralph”). Bush previously directed the Oscar-winning “Encanto” and co-wrote and co-directed “Zootopia.”

The ‘Zootopia 2’ Trailer Has Dropped!
Image
Disney is coming back with yet another sequel film, this time ‘Zootopia 2.’ The film will release in theaters on November 26, as Disney’s Thanksgiving time release.

Like “Inside Out 2” and “Moana 2,”“Zootopia 2” is Disney banking on brand recognition instead of new IP. However, this move has paid off for them with the other two films, and I do think it’s possible “Zootopia 2” can do even better than the other sequels.

Plus, Disney already made ‘Zootopia’ part of Shanghai Disney, and the new “Zootopia Better Together” show will be coming to Disney’s Animal Kingdom in Walt Disney World this winter.

They were always going to do more films because they doubled down on the IP with the theme parks. The show will be a replacement for “It’s Tough To Be A Bug.”

Today, the first trailer was dropped, take a look!

In the trailer,...

Everything You Need To Know About Zootopia 2

Over the years, there have been several animated films made by Disney, but not all of them have ended up charming the audiences. While the original classics occupy a special place in fans’ hearts, there are a few modern ones that are almost just as good and Zootopia is one among them.

Released almost a decade ago, the animated classic captured hearts worldwide, delivering a fresh and imaginative world where anthropomorphic animals navigated a bustling metropolis. Filled with regular old Disney charm with the perfect addition of humor, adventure, and social commentary, the animated film even won an Academy Award for Best Animated Feature.

Disney Debuts First Footage of 'Zootopia 2' at CinemaCon
Image
Walt Disney Studios thrilled attendees at CinemaCon 2025 with exclusive looks at its upcoming slate of releases, including one of the company's most sought-after sequels: Zootopia 2. Oscar winner Ke Huy Quan took to the stage to unveil two clips and some first-look images from the long-awaited sequel to Disney's hit 2016 movie. He voices a character named Gary De'Snake in the animated feature, who is described as "a venomous-but-lovable pit viper" and one that is sure to slither away from any scuffles that Detectives Judy Hopps and Nick Wilde find themselves in.

The footage, shown during the Walt Disney Studios presentation on Thursday, which was attended by Variety, revealed that Judy and Nick might have more problems on their paws than usual, as the dynamic duo are now attending group therapy for seemingly mismatched police partners. Among them are "an elephant who keeps getting terrified of the mouse who shares a...

Image
Plucky bunny cop Judy Hopps and her erstwhile foil, now partner, fox Nick Wilde got some prime screen time during Disney’s CinemaCon presentation today as a pair of clips were shown from Zootopia 2. The sequel to 2016’s Oscar-winning $1B+ grosser is due for release in the Thanksgiving corridor this year.

The first movie followed Judy (Ginnifer Goodwin) as a rookie cop who teams up with con artist Nick (Jason Bateman) to uncover a conspiracy in a titular metropolis of anthropomorphic animals.

New cast member Ke Huy Quan was on hand to introduce the fresh Zootopia 2 footage. He joins the follow-up as a snake named Gary, the impetus for Judy and Nick’s next case.

This portion of the show was introduced in voice-over by Bateman as Nick, who referred to CinemaCon as “ZinemaCon, Celebrating the Animal Experience” before Quan took the stage.

‘Zootopia 2:’ Quinta Brunson Joins Voice Cast as Disney Unveils First Footage
Image
Things are about to get pretty hairy…or should we say furry?

During The Walt Disney Studios presentation at CinemaCon 2025, further details were revealed about the highly anticipated upcoming sequel “Zootopia 2.” Narrating an animated video shown to the crowd, the film’s main voice lead, Jason Bateman had some fun with Disney’s offerings, renaming their entire slate with animal puns like “Thundercolts” (“Thunderbolts”), “Sealio,” (“Elio”), and “Fantastic Fur” (“Fantastic Four: First Steps”).

Taking the stage, Academy Award-winner Ke Huy Quan was present to unveil the first footage for the sequel, having previously been announced as joining the cast during the D23 Expo in August 2024. “Zootopia 2” will introduce the world of reptiles, in which Quan plays a snake named Gary who Bateman’s Nick and Ginnifer Goodwin’s Judy are after. He’s the first of his species to enter Zootopia and his presence sets the sequel’s plot in motion.

‘Zootopia 2’ Hilarious CinemaCon Footage Shows Judy Hopps and Nick Wilde in Partners Therapy, Quinta Brunson Joins Voice Cast
Image
Detectives Judy Hopps and Nick Wilde are feeling the strain of cracking one too many cases together.

And, in new footage that Disney premiered for “Zootopia 2” at CinemaCon, that’s sent them to partners therapy. It’s overseen by a quokka named Dr. Fuzzbee and filled with mismatched cops, such as an elephant who keeps getting terrified of the mouse who shares a squad car, or the deer who keeps fighting with a skunk. Hopps, for those who may have forgotten, is a rabbit and Wilde is a fox.

Disney also shared a scene where Hopps and Wilde go on holiday to a marsh resort, filled with hippos going down waterslides and a juggling seal — whoops, make that sea lion!

The first film, about a world populated by anthropomorphic animals, was a smash hit, grossing over $1 billion at the box office, so theater owners and executives, who make up...

Disney Pauses Tangled Live-Action Adaptation Amid Snow White Woes
Image
Tangled is one of the most popular and beloved recent Disney movies. Which naturally led to a need for a live-action version.

Disney is known for its beloved animated Disney Princesses, which include both classic characters like Snow White, Cinderella, Aurora, Belle, and Ariel, but also newcomers like Merida, Tiana, Moana, Raya, and Rapunzel. The latter got her own movie with the beloved 2010 animation Tangled. Disney was already working on developing a live-action version, but, per The Hollywood Reporter, the plans for the live-action Tangled are now paused amid its Snow White headaches.

There were conversations about the adaptation, but Disney confirmed the Tangled live-action remake in December 2024. Michael Gracey, who helmed critically acclaimed productions like The Greatest Showman and the Robbie Williams biopic Better Man, was in talks to direct. Jennifer Kayton Robinson, who helms the upcoming I Know What You Did Last Summer legacy sequel, wrote the draft for the script.

Disney Halts ‘Tangled’ Live-Action Remake in Wake of ‘Snow White’ Bust
Image
Disney has hit pause on development of a live-action version of its animated hit “Tangled,” an individual with knowledge told TheWrap. The move comes in the wake of the studio’s latest live-action remake, “Snow White,” bombing at the box office with just $70 million domestic after two weeks in theaters — a far cry from the $174 million opening weekend of “Beauty and the Beast” in 2017 and $92 million opening weekend of “Aladdin” in 2019.

Michael Gracey, the filmmaker behind “The Greatest Showman” and this year’s Robbie Williams biopic “Better Man,” was attached to direct from a script by Jennifer Kaytin Robinson (“Thor: Love and Thunder”).

Released in 2010 and directed by Byron Howard and Nathan Greno, “Tangled” was a twist on Rapunzel and marked the beginning of a creative resurgence at Walt Disney Animation Studios. The film grossed nearly $600 million worldwide.

“Snow White,” starring Rachel Zegler as the Disney princess and Gal Gadot as the evil queen,...

Every Animated Movie to Cross $1 Billion at the Box Office
Image
Animated movies have long been crowd-pleasers, working with audiences of all ages. This can, perhaps, be attributed to the freedom that comes with the medium. With the genre’s history dating back to the late 1800s, it’s fascinating to see how animation has evolved from short, silent films to this billion-dollar culture machine.

A still from 2009’s Up | Credits: Walt Disney

While box office data began to be tracked in the 1920s, it wasn’t until the late 20th and early 21st centuries that animated films began breaking financial records. Today, a select group of these films has achieved rather extraordinary success, capturing the hearts (and wallets) of millions worldwide.

Let’s count down the animated movies that have made history, starting at number thirteen and working our way to the champion of the billion-dollar club. (You never know who overtakes them next).
