Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga was a visually stunning, critically acclaimed action epic in the same vein as its predecessor, Fury Road. However, the film struggled at the box office, seemingly halting talks on future entries in the franchise. Despite underperforming at the box office, Furiosa director George Miller maintains that he has more stories to tell in the Mad Max universe, but it might be awhile before he gets to it.
Speaking with Vulture, Miller confirmed that there is another script ready to go if given the green light, perhaps alluding to Mad Max: The Wastleand, which would see the return of the titular hero in a prequel reportedly set before Fury Road. "We’ve got another script," Miller told Vulture. "But having been doing this long enough where I’m habituated to storytelling, I find myself with way too many stories — not only in my head, but in...

Gaining a perfect score on Rotten Tomatoes is either an impressive achievement or a sign that your movie hasn't been all that widely reviewed. The same goes for those films that bear the dreaded 0% rating, of which the great John Travolta currently has a full seven.
This is all by virtue of the way Rt works. The website aggregates reviews, deeming each individual appraisal either positive or negative. Even mixed reviews get crammed into this binary, allowing Rotten Tomatoes to produce a percentage score based on how many reviews are "Fresh" and how many are "Rotten." If a film is solid enough to garner a handful of decent reviews, that means it will likely get a 100% rating on the site because A) there aren't many reviews to include in the rating and B) the handful of reviews that do exist are all decent enough to be rated "Fresh" by Rt's moderators.

Critical consensus is overrated. Rotten Tomatoes may have trained movie-lovers to quantify a movie's worth with a percentage score in recent years, but some of the best movies ever made deeply divided critics and audiences alike. Early Hollywood star Katharine Hepburn made plenty of divisive films in her career, from the John Wayne-led Western "Rooster Cogburn" to her first Oscar-winning film, "Morning Glory," to the bold interracial marriage dramedy "Guess Who's Coming To Dinner." Time Out once called the latter, which earned 10 Oscar nominations upon release, "a wishy-washy, sanctimonious plea for tolerance, directed with Kramer's customary verbosity and stodginess."
It's a truth universally acknowledged that good movies sometimes get trashed by certain critics, but that makes the rare film that achieves complete critical consensus all the more interesting -- if not always necessarily better than the more polarizing films. Plenty of great actors only have one 100% Rotten Tomatoes score under their belt,...

The People Eater is one of the most terrifying characters in the Mad Max franchise, raising questions about his role in the world. 2024's Furiosa continued expanding on George Miller's dystopian sci-fi universe, exploring the world of the wasteland and the political landscape between its rival factions. The best Mad Max movies have expanded Miller's nightmare universe with terrifying villain characters, from Immortan Joe to Lord Humungus to, of course, the People Eater, played by John Howard in Fury Road and Furiosa.
The People Eater has a notable screen presence in his various appearances in the Mad Max franchise, but the films don't spend much time exploring his character. For the most part, most of the franchise's characters are left with vague bullet points regarding their origins, as the Mad Max movies aren't known for pausing on account of exposition. Amidst the high-octane action and road war sequences,...

One of the most disappointing box office performances of the year has managed to redeem itself on streaming. Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga, which stars Chris Hemsworth and Anya Taylor-Joy, has been one of the most popular movies to stream on Max since it arrived on the platform nearly three weeks ago. The film tells the origin story of the renegade warrior Furiosa, long before her encounter and team up with the legendary Mad Max (Tom Hardy). In addition to Hemsworth and Taylor-Joy, Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga also stars Tom Burke, Alyla Browne, John Howard, Elsa Pataky, and Nathan Jones, and currently sits at impressive scores of 90% from critics and 89% from general audiences on Rotten Tomatoes despite its underwhelming box office performance.

Furiosa's streaming release could boost its success and reshape its reputation after a lukewarm box office performance. Despite financial challenges, Furiosa earned positive reviews and is expected to gain a loyal following like Fury Road. The future of the Mad Max franchise remains uncertain post-Furiosa, though George Miller has another sequel titled The Wasteland in development.
With confirmation of Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga's impending streaming release, I'm still holding out hope for the franchise's future. While I always enjoyed the Mad Max movies for their great action and worldbuilding, I'll confess they were never my favorite action series either. Several top stars put their careers on hold and their lives on the line to serve during World War II including Jimmy Stewart, Clark Gable, Henry Fonda, Robert Taylor, Alan Ladd, William Holden, Robert Ryan and Robert Montgomery. And numerous young men who weren’t yet actors during the global conflict including Lee Marvin and Charles Durning saw action and suffered severe injuries.
With the 80th anniversary of D-Day, which was the largest amphibious invasion in military history with five naval assault divisions invading the beaches of Normandy, France, on June 6, let’s look at some actors who participated in the massive operation.

Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga finds IMAX success, grossing $18 million globally, with positive reviews but struggles to meet budget expectations. Despite critical acclaim, Furiosa disappoints at the box office with a $26.3 million opening and the largest second-week drop in franchise history. IMAX totals give hope to Furiosa's box office performance, contributing 15% to the overall gross and potentially boosting theatrical releases.
Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga has found success in global IMAX theaters. A prequel to 2015s dystopian chase film Mad Max: Fury Road, Furiosa tells the origin story of the character popularized by Charlize Theron in the previous installment. Anya Taylor-Joy steps in to play the young adult version of the titular character, with child actress Alyla Browne playing the role in her preteen years. In addition to Browne and Taylor-Joy, the leading cast includes Chris Hemsworth, Tom Burke, Lachy Hulme, John Howard, Charlee Fraser, and Angus Samson.

Social media is always posting clips of belligerent airline passengers having meltdowns even getting into fisticuffs with flight attendants and fellow travelers. But today’s outbursts look positively tame to compared to the ill-behavior of the passengers and even the crew on a plane bound to San Francisco from Honolulu in “The High and the Mighty,” which opened in L.A. on May 27, 1954. The film went into general release in July. They drink, they cry, they fight and even restrain a passenger who has a gun.Meanwhile, the young pilot nearly loses it, the veteran pilot is haunted with memories of a crash, the navigator is a nervous wreck. Smoking, even by the crew, is allowed.

One of the most anticipated prequel films of all time has to be George Miller‘s Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga. After the initial announcement back in 2010, the anticipation for the film only grew after the release of Mad Max: Fury Road in 2015, and nearly 9 years later the film we have all been waiting for is finally here and I am really happy to say that it will exceed everyone’s expectations.
Based on the characters from Mad Max: Fury Road by Miller, the prequel film is directed by Miller from a screenplay co-written by Nico Lathouris and Miller and it follows the story of a young Furiosa as she is snatched from Green Place of Many Mothers and handed over to the great biker horde’s warlord Dementus as they make their way through the Wasteland and come across the Citadel ruled by Immortan Joe. The prequel film we have all been waiting for is finally here and I am really happy to say that it is as brilliant and bombastic as the original film. Obviously, we are talking about Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga, the prequel to George Miller‘s 2015 Mad Max: Fury Road. Directed by Miller from a screenplay by Nico Lathouris and Miller, Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga follows the story of a young Furiosa as she is taken from Green Place of Many Mothers and tries to survive in the wasteland while trying to get back home but the war between great biker horde’s warlord Dementus and Immortan Joe makes it harder. Replacing Charlize Theron from Fury Road, Anya Taylor-Joy takes over the role of Furiosa in the prequel film and it also stars Chris Hemsworth, Tom Burke, Lachy Hulme, John Howard, Angus Sampson, and Nathan Jones. Australian filmmaker George Miller has been described as both a genius and a visionary. He seems to know how to make a great project and his fame began in 1979, when he introduced the world to the first movie from the Mad Max franchise, a cult classic series that initially starred Mel Gibson in the titular role before he was replaced by Tom Hardy in Fury Road. As we all know, the franchise continued with a fifth movie, a prequel titled Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga, which explores the origins of Imperator Furiosa, a character introduced in Fury Road. The movie received a long-standing ovation at Cannes this year, and it was finally released in cinemas on May 23, 2024.
Is the movie any good? Should yo go watch it? The early Cannes reviews were all for it, but we can now confirm that the movie is an absolute hit with both critics and fans,...

Developed by Bungie, Halo: Combat Evolved is the game that jumpstarted Xbox’s tenure in the games industry, inextricably linking it to the green-armored Master Chief and his fight against the Covenant.
However, the game’s development was far from smooth, filled with late-stage changes and frantic efforts to meet deadlines. A recent interview with Combat Evolved‘s original developers sheds light on a particularly dramatic near-miss – the potential removal of the now-iconic Scorpion Tank mission.

George Miller, the director of Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga, is revisiting the on-set drama between Charlize Theron and Tom Hardy in his 2015 film Mad Max: Fury Road.
In a new interview, Miller recalled the feud between the stars during the film’s production, which resulted from Hardy’s tardiness.
“They were just two very different performers,” Miller told The Telegraph. “Tom has a damage to him but also a brilliance that comes with it, and whatever was going on with him at the time, he had to be coaxed out of his trailer. Whereas Charlize was incredibly disciplined – a dancer by training, which told in the precision of her performance – and always the first one on set.”
Miller noted that things on the set gradually got better, adding, “I’m an optimist, so I saw their behavior as mirroring their characters, where they had to learn to cooperate in order to ensure mutual survival.

The delightful Colin From Accounts is back for season 2, and the first trailer has landed. It’s right here, in fact.
Colin From Accounts was one of the most wonderful surprises of 2022. Written by and starring real life husband and wife Harriet Dyer and Patrick Brammall, the warm hearted Australian sitcom follows the story of Gordon and Ashley, who meet when she flashes him while she’s crossing the street, causing him to lose concentration and run over a dog.
Deciding to care for him rather than have him put down, the two gradually get to know and, eventually, like each other while looking after the dog they call Colin From Accounts.
The synopsis for series 2 reads as follows:

Margot Robbie's favorite classic Hollywood film is The Philadelphia Story, which she watched frequently during her childhood and continues to hold a special place in her heart. The Philadelphia Story is a beloved classic that features a talented cast, witty dialogue, and a well-written story about forgiveness and acceptance of human flaws. This 1940 film has received critical acclaim, winning awards and landing a spot in the American Film Institute's top 100 movies list, making it an iconic and timeless classic.
Back in 2022, Margot Robbie mentioned that her favorite classic Hollywood film is The Philadelphia Story. She said she "used to watch it all the time" during childhood. It's no surprise that Robbie took inspiration from older films during her journey into her acting career, as she's practically an old soul herself. Her family didn't have any connection to cinema or the industry, and she would perform movie scenes in front of them.

Despite allegedly scaring Alfred Hitchcock with his yelling, James Stewart really did live up to his polite everyman reputation. He's one of the biggest stars in Hollywood history and yet retained humility throughout his decades-long career, even finding time to rise up the ranks of the military and fight in World War II between starring in some of the biggest movies of his day. He passed away in 1997 having built a career full of classic movie moments and never once tarnished his reputation as a class act (Hitchcock probably deserved some dressing down). In fact, beyond being self-effacing, Stewart was known for being quite shy off-screen — a trait that, every now and then, would seemingly trip him up on set.
So it was with 1940's "The Philadelphia Story" — a vehicle for Katherin Hepburn's comeback after the actress found herself on Harry Brandt's infamous "box office poison list." Her turn...

Kate Mulvany and John Howard have joined the cast of The Merger, a comedy/drama which will star Damian Callinan.
Callinan has written the script based on his one-man show about a country football coach who hatches an unorthodox plan to rebuild the local football team by recruiting recently-settled asylum seekers.
