From selling her soul to the devil to being a psy-op, the questions about how she became as well-off as she has are still in the mix. However, one of the most bizarre theories in recent years has to be one related to a commercial for 1981, eight years before the actress was even born.

Miss Americana and the Glamour Gals

The project is looking to raise $35,000 in the next couple weeks to bring Slash Squatch to life on screen, with 28 backers raising nearly $6,000 at the time of this article’s publication.

In Slash Squatch, “A weapon wielding Sasquatch ravages a small town.”

Director Aaron Bratcher previews, “Brace yourself for edge-of-your-seat tension and adrenaline-fueled action, brought to life with stunning old-school practical effects.”

The first five minutes of the upcoming film have already been shot and released on the project’s official website, with plans for the rest of the film to begin production in September.

Drive-In Dust Offs: Uninvited (1987)
Image
Dig if you will, a picture: It’s the late ‘80s, and not everyone is fortunate to obtain cherished IPs, with the masks and the knifed gloves still keeping warm by the dying slasher embers. But not everyone needed it either; for instance, look at filmmaker Greydon Clark - the man was never averse to dipping into the zeitgeist and extracting whatever the hell he liked. In this case, he gave us Uninvited (1987), a fun and goopy *checks notes* killer cat on a yacht flick. I’m still unsure what glob of cultural goo Clark was grabbing for, but I’ve always appreciated his mud-pie approach, and this one ends up being a messy, grainy, blob of glorious nonsense.

Sort of like most of his oeuvre, come to think of it: A little seedy, but nothing too transgressive; perfect viewing for the whole demented family. Except like most of his films,...

Joyce Hyser in Just One of the Guys (1985)
Just One of the Guys 35th Anniversary Blu-Ray Features a New Reunion Commentary
Joyce Hyser in Just One of the Guys (1985)
Just One of the Guys is celebrating its 35th anniversary with a special 2K Blu-ray remaster release. The teen comedy is an 80s classic, which is loosely based on William Shakespeare's Twelfth Night. While it received mixed reviews from critics upon its release, the movie has since become a cult classic. The project was directed by Lisa Gottlieb and co-written by Dennis Feldman and Jeff Franklin, though according to Gottlieb, she also co-wrote the screenplay with Mitch Giannunzio, but he was denied writing credit by the studio. The Blu-ray edition will be available to purchase on April 28th.

Just One of the Guys centers on Terri (Joyce Hyser), who blames sexism when her journalism teacher refuses to enter her article in a competition to win a summer internship at the local newspaper. With the help of her kid brother, Buddy (Billy Jacoby), she masquerades as a guy at a...

From VHS to VOD #1
I don’t know if you’re anything like me, but I can often spend hours upon hours trawling through iTunes looking for new movies to buy… Usually I’ll randomly come across a title I haven’t seen in years and use the “Cast & Crew” links to make my way down the rabbit hole to the more obscure side of Apple’s digital movie service.

Now whilst many will decry that iTunes is a terrible VOD service due to Apple’s desire to lock its audience to their platforms, if you have an Apple TV or iPad be aware – there are some truly obscure films hidden away in the depths of the vast collection of movies. Some of which have been made available in the UK for the first time since VHS and a Lot that have been added to the service in their original uncut form!

So, with...
