‘The Apothecary Diaries’ Va Admits Maomao and Jinshi’s Relationship Changed Very Little in Season 2
Image
Maomao and Jinshi have become the anime couple of 2025, despite not even being romantically paired yet. The Apothecary Diaries’ careful understanding of love and romance has made it a slow but rewarding experience. In Season 2, they have more physical chemistry, but they barely impact their relationship.

This isn’t just our observation of their relationship through The Apothecary Diaries either. Aoi Yuki, the incredible voice actress for Maomao, has realized the same. She credits her character’s tendency to distance herself from others, particularly Jinshi, as one of the reasons it’s unchanged.

This lack of change, however, is also part of their relationship’s charm. Season 2’s second half is the most eventful The Apothecary Diaries has been. Even so, Jinshi and Maomao don’t stop seeking each other’s company.

Maomao Might Not Be as Direct as Jinshi, but That’s the Point

Maomao and Jinshi have a complicated dynamic.

Best Jujutsu Kaisen Manga Fights, Ranked
Image
The following contains spoilers for the Jujutsu Kaisen manga, available to read in English via Viz Media.

Gege Akutamis Jujutsu Kaisen earned the praise and devotion of its sizable fanbase through many outstanding merits - the memorable, lovable cast, incredibly detailed dark world, and resonant emotional beats. However, what most fans of the anime and manga alike perceive as JJKs most outstanding quality is the shonens riveting action. Few shonen manga could compare to JJKs stellar battle execution, its fights masterfully balancing exciting spectacle with gritty suspense where each opponent constantly puts their life on the line.

The anime adaptation elevates the action to a whole new level, featuring some of the best-executed battle sequences in modern shonen history. While the anime has the advantages of dynamic movement and sound design to bring its fights to life, the manga is where the creativity and thrill of JJKs action originate from.

However, other shows sadly ended before they had a chance to get to the best parts.

Not even ongoing series are safe from the threat of ending before their story can be fully told. While shows like Spy x Family are more than likely to continue due to their immense popularity,...
