Blu-ray Review: The House by the Cemetery
The House By The Cemetery

Stars: Catriona MacColl, Paolo Malco, Ania Pieroni, Giovanni Frezza, Giovanni De Nava | Written by Lucio Fulci, Giorgio Mariuzzo, Dardano Sacchetti | Directed by Lucio Fulci

Lucio Fulci sure had a way with films, especially his “Gates of Hell” trilogy. Arrow Video now complete their Blu-Ray release of the trilogy with The House by the Cemetery (the other two being City of the Living Dead and The Beyond) and what a release. With an excellent picture quality and a disk full of extras this could arguably be the best way to experience the film, other than on the big screen of course.

The House by the Cemetery starts off by throwing blood and gore at you then changes tone with a Shining style warning to a boy from a picture of a little girl at the window of the titular house not to enter it. In a...

Arrow Video’s May 2012 line-up revealed
It’s time for another update from our friends at Arrow Video, this time previewing their <ay 2012 releases which include the long-awaited Blu-ray release of the House By the Cemetary and the ArrowDrome release of The Exterminator.

The House by the Cemetery (Arrow Video) Limited Edition Blu-ray

You may have just mortgaged your life! Shock gore master Lucio Fulci’s The House by the Cemetery is one of the finest typically single-minded exercises in zombie terror. Its just a shame no-one told the Boyle family who move into a gothic style house (by a cemetery) with a bloody past and a guts spraying future, what is yet to come! You’d think they’d twig given the basement door is nailed shut that they should get the hell out. Instead they stay long enough to discover their zombified non rent-paying lodger, the cellar-dwelling, flesh-hungry Dr Freudstein and boy is he pissed!

Never Mind the Twilight Fans and Their Teams! The Time has Come for Horror Fans to Pick a Meatier Side!
For every rabid Twilight fan there are a million more of us who couldn't care less. Where's our awesome merch featuring Team of our own choosing that are not hunky men children but that actually mean something in horror?! Well, let me tell you, they exist, and I want you to know about a couple.

First up, Fright Rags pays homage to everyone's favorite mullet wearing badass, David from The Lost Boys. The shirt itself is called "Team David" but as you can see there are no tags of the sort. It shows in vivid detail David holding the severed head of Edward Cullen with "I Ruined Vampires" carved ever so delicately into his forehead. The shirts are available on their website, and if you sign up for their newsletter you save 10% off of your first purchase!

The next of these "Team" shirts comes direct from the twisted brain of Mike Baronas,...

Paura: Lucio Fulci Remembered Volume I (DVD Review)
There are very few filmmakers-living or dead-who could fire up enough passion in one of their admirers that he would go to the lengths Mike Baronas has to create a loving tribute like Paura: Lucio Fulci Remembered Volume I. But there haven't been many directors as talented and misunderstood as Fulci, and apparently never a fan as doggedly resourceful as Baronas. Ninety interviewees are separated into three categories: Accomplices (technicians who worked with Fulci), Peers (fellow directors in the Italian genre trade) and Victims (i.e., performers) who've all had the distinct pleasure-or in some cases, displeasure-of working with the infamously temperamental (or profoundly compassionate, depending on who's talking) maestro.

By the end of nearly four hours, there is no "Rosebud" moment in this Citizen Kane of horror-movie interview epics, but along the way you'll be privy to anecdotes ranging from the profoundly personal to simmering innuendo to the downright...
