"The Torkelsons" Connie Ray
Grey's Anatomy: April's Mom Is Coming to Town — But There's a Twist!
"The Torkelsons" Connie Ray
At long last, the Kepner family tree is complete. Or at least it will be this fall when Grey’s Anatomy formally introduces April’s mother.

TVLine has learned exclusively that Connie Ray (The Big C, The Torkelsons) has been cast as the Kepner clan’s matriarch, Karen. This is technically a recast, since the character appeared briefly (sans dialogue) at April’s wedding to Jackson last season played by a different actress (the first person to ID said mystery actress in the comments wins a 20% off coupon to Bed Bath & Beyond).

Keri Russell and Matthew Rhys in The Americans (2013)
"It sounds like the family dynamic is going to be a real focus." — Keri Russell speaking to Rolling Stone about The Americans, Season Two, October 2013

Who would have thought that nearly eight months and 13 episodes later, this seemingly innocuous sound bite would resonate so much? Don't let that final shot of the Jennings family sitting down to a typical American dinner of chicken, potatoes and veggies fool you – underneath the veneer of smiles and small talk is a family coming apart at the seams.

'The Americans,' A to...

Grey’s Anatomy Puts Jackson In An Awkward Position
The best part of a good drama isn’t necessarily when something completely unexpected happens, like the sudden death of a beloved character or a tragic break up of a couple that’s so obviously destined to be together. No, often times the best enjoyment can be found in a good old-fashioned moment of awkwardness. Grey’s Anatomy is skilled in many types of situations and will be showing us the optimal way to take advantage of the awkwardness of a break up in the upcoming Dec. 5 that will certainly leave Jackson feeling a heck of a lot worse than he already was.

Not only will Jackson have to deal with an uncomfortable situation, but also I imagine the scene that’s been shot (and pictured in this article) will leave viewers squirming in their seats just a tad. When I first saw the promo images for the episode and...

Lunch in Paris: A Love Story, with Recipes by Elizabeth Bond
The title of this book grabbed me first, as I love Paris and I love lunch--well to be fair, I love any meal where I get to eat delicious food! However, when I actually saw the front cover of the book and read the blurb on it that said "'Romance on the front burner...it's Eat, Pray, Love with a side of spiced apricots.' - Adriana Trigiani", I nearly flung it back onto the shelf, hissing while making the sign of the cross. If this book was truly anything like Eat, Pray, Love, then there was no way in Hell that I would be reading that kind of drivel! But-i allowed myself to take a peek at the inside front cover and was relieved to see that it sounded more like it would be a lighthearted fun little story that combined romance, an American adjusting to life in Paris,...

Cannonball Read III Presents: Summer Reads
A couple of weeks ago, I sent the following message to this year's Cannonballers:

Now that summer is here (yes, I know not technically, but as far as I'm concerned summer begins when June does), I am thinking that it would be good to have a theme for some of the Cbr posts this summer: Summer Reads. I don't know about you, but summer vacations-especially when I go to the beach-are when I have some of my best opportunities to finally make a dent in my reading list. And I often make a trip to the library before heading out on vacation. I'd like to be able to give the Pajibans a bunch of recommendations as they may be looking to add to their summer reading lists.

Of course to do this, I need your help. I would like you to send me links to any reviews you've written for...
