Senator John McCain got in a bit of hot water recently when a photo posted during his trip to Syria revealed that the senator took a picture with two men believed to have been involved in the kidnapping of eleven people. Fox News Sunday guest host John Roberts brought this up during McCain's appearance this morning, and asked him to explain the photo.

The Daily Show took on both the legislative and judicial branches of the government last night. Now that racism is over, as evidenced by the election of President Barack Obama (two times, no less), there's really no reason to go on exacting federal limitations on states with the worst track record of discrimination. So says Shelby County, Alabama, anyway. Jon Stewart, however, isn't buying it.

"If you want to take out a loan but have a history of bad credit you may need to show extra documentation or get a cosigner," Stewart explained. "Or, if you want to move near a school and you're a sex offender, you have to run that by someone."

The underlying sentiment behind the argument against section five of the voting rights act seems to be that the listed states are tired of being discriminated against for their previous discrimination. Bob's Burgers' John Roberts tweeted back in June that Jon Hamm would be doing a voice on the show come fall, and now we know who in the Belcher world will have the gravitas of Don Draper: He'll play a talking toilet. Burgers creator Loren Bouchard tells EW that Hamm's part is "a kind of E.T. homage, but instead of an alien, it’s this high-end talking electronic toilet that falls off a truck and lands in the woods." With the jobs numbers released Friday providing little good news for anyone, Fox News Sunday guest host John Roberts asked today why President Obama is still leading Mitt Romney in key battleground states. Bill Kristol attributed the trend to Romney not being able to provide a clear alternative to what Obama is doing, and said the Republican campaign should be worried about being behind at this point.

Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell dropped by Fox News Sunday today to give his reaction to the Supreme Court ruling upholding the Affordable Care Act. McConnell touted reconciliation as an option to repeal the health care mandate based on John Roberts' ruling that it is a tax. The New York Post is reporting tonight that American Morning co-host Kiran Chetry is leaving the morning show--and CNN. According to the story--citing "sources"--Chetry "was seen packing up her desk today" and plans to leave the network at the end of the month. In recent weeks, Chetry, who previously co-hosted Am with John Roberts (who himself left CNN for Fox News) has been part of a morning trio including Ali Velshi and Christine Romans.

New Fox News correspondent John Roberts appeared with Don Imus this morning to share his views on being a new father and on the conflict in Libya. However, some of the most interesting parts were Imus trying to get Roberts to reveal his true thoughts about his former employer, CNN, and Roberts opening up about his awkward on-air moment scolding his American Morning co-host.

CNN Newsroom anchor Kyra Phillips, 42, and her fiancée, Fox News senior national correspondent John Roberts, 54, welcomed fraternal twins just after midnight on Tuesday, March 15, they tell People exclusively.

Daughter Sage Ann arrived first at 12:03 a.m., weighing in at 5 lbs., 15 oz. and 18½ inches long. Son Kellan Clay followed shortly thereafter at 12:05 a.m., also weighing in at 5 lbs., 15 oz. and 18½ inches long.

“It was amazing to welcome them to the world. It was a long road to get here, but they are absolutely beautiful little people,” the couple said in a statement.

A few weeks ago, I discovered that CNN's American Morning co-anchor Kiran Chetry has an unusually devoted fan base, who had a little panic attack when she took a couple of days off. Such intense loyalty deserves closer examination, so I visited the set of American Morning Friday morning, and later interviewed Kiran about her news-heavy morning show, journalism in general, and that John Roberts clip.

John Roberts, the veteran newsman who co-hosted CNN’s American Morning for three years, is joining the competition. “We are excited to welcome John to Fox News,” said Michael Clemente, senior vice president of news editorial for Fox News, in a statement. “His reputation as a skilled journalist with years of notable experience in the field will be a valuable addition to our news programming.”

Changes are coming to CNN's "American Morning." John Roberts, "American Morning" co-host alongside Kiran Chetry, is set to leave the show, CNN head Ken Jautz announced on Tuesday. Roberts wants to stay in Atlanta to be near his fiancé, Jautz explained in a memo to staff, and a reporting role for him is being discussed. The anticipated changes at CNN's poorly-rated American Morning--including the departure of co-host John Roberts--were confirmed in a memo to staff from CNN boss Ken Jautz. According to Jautz, Roberts will leave the show in the next few weeks and he's expected to land in Atlanta in a reporting role. NEW YORK -- As things turned from bad to worse in the Gulf Coast region a day after Hurrricane Katrina roared through, network and cable news journalists on Tuesday struggled to cover the ever-widening story. With possibly hundreds dead, many injured and millions displaced -- including most of New Orleans, which was underwater -- reporters found themselves covering a story that got bigger as daylight rose on what looked on television like a scene from a Hollywood disaster movie. "This city is so devastated", said John Roberts, the veteran CBS News correspondent who covered his first hurricane, Hugo, in 1989 in South Carolina. Roberts spoke Tuesday afternoon from a satellite truck in what he described as "the only dry part of New Orleans." Journalists, who on Monday had weathered the 150 mph-plus winds and heavy rains from Katrina, found themselves faced not only with storm damage but also shortages of food, water and gasoline. Rising water in New Orleans KO'd an NBC News truck and cut off most TV journalists in the Crescent City from the rest of the country. And the deteriorating conditions there led to concerns about looting, other crime, dysentery and other water-borne diseases in the 90 degree-plus heat.

NEW YORK -- TV news scattered hundreds of staffers throughout the Gulf Coast on Monday to cover Hurricane Katrina, as reporters braved 150 mph winds and 20-foot storm surges (as well as balky satellite links) to report on the storm. Katrina cut across south Florida late last week and, by Friday, the news divisions moved resources to cover what seemed like a dangerous but all-too-common hurricane, like many in the past year or so. But the storm intensified early Sunday, and so did the coverage plans, network executives said Monday. "When it got to be a Category 5, that changes the kind of resources you send into the area," ABC News senior vp newsgathering Paul Slavin said. ABC News had seven correspondents and 14 crews, for example. NBC's Brian Williams became the only network news anchor on the scene; other correspondents on the scene included Fox News' Shep Smith, who reported from the French Quarter in New Orleans; Steve Harrigan from Gulfport, Miss.; CBS' John Roberts; and CNN's Anderson Cooper and Miles O'Brien. All three network news morning shows continued coverage until at least noon ET.
