Justine Review
Image
Justine (Tallulah Haddon) meets Rachel (Sophie Reid) in a bookshop and the two start chatting. After another chance enounter they begin dating and quickly develop a pretty serious relationship. The problem is that Rachel, about to move to Barcelona to be an English teacher, has her life much more together than Justine, who is on probation and still in the grip of alcoholism.

There are a lot of issues going on in Justine, but rather than alcoholism, or putting one’s life back together on probation, or the struggles of a relationship across economic lines, director Jamie Patterson and writer Jeff Murphy are interested in the human story between their two main characters. We don’t get a huge amount of background on Rachel, and what we learn about Justine is largely teased out in her reticence about her past, at least until one late scene lays some family tensions a bit more bare,...

Ella-Rae Smith in New Trailer for Sci-Fi Adventure '2 Hours' or '2:Hrs'
"Can you save my life?" 4Digital Media has debuted an official Us trailer for a "family adventure" movie titled 2 Hours, also known as 2:Hrs. The plot is a bit odd: three school friends ditch classes, and somehow stumble into the lab of a mad scientist lady. There they discover her latest invention, The Vitalitron, which predicts the time of death of any living creature. Tim discovers he only has two hours left to live, so he and his mates create a bucket list that will cram a lifetime into the next two hours. Anyone want to bet that he doesn't die at the end of two hours, but learns a few lessons along the way? What an original idea. Starring Harry Jarvis, Ella-Rae Smith, Alhaji Fofana, Keith Allen, Siobhan Redmond, Seann Walsh, Marek Larwood, and Kirsty Dillon. It looks pretty bad - almost made-for-tv bad, but that's why it's being...

Film Review: Tom Hardy’s Mesmerizing ‘Locke’ Makes You Question Who You Are
Chicago – It’s impossible to simply play spectator through the forward-moving experimental indie “Locke” without analyzing your own past. And only a zombie could sit through this one-man film without questioning what choices you’d make in Tom Hardy’s shoes.

The 85-minute film, which stars Tom Hardy and features only him on screen simply in a car, isn’t a movie you can simply be entertained by. Though the credits only list Hardy (who played Bane in “The Dark Knight Rises”) along with various other people for their voice work, the other star of the film who is quietly uncredited is you.

Rating: 4.5/5.0

And that is this visionary film’s primary power. From a box-office perspective, the film’s challenge is its small release: only 25 theatres and $112,000 earned domestically over the past week since it opened anywhere. But for those who are able to find it, you’ll see...
