- Soren is a Danish actor, and after almost 30 years in USA, 9 years in Brazil, now living and working out of Portugal. In the award winning 'Kalak', Soren did his first work back in Denmark in 38 years, with great reviews. Since Soren turned 60, his carrier has been taking a major upturn, working with some of the best directors in Brazil, Portugal, Spain and in Denmark. In USA Soren worked on major television shows as 'VIP', 'Alias', 'SCRUBS' and 'The Gilmore Girls' among others. In Brazil, Sorens work on Hector Babencos 'My Hindu Friend', together with William Dafoe, as well as on Daniel Rezendes award winning 'Bingo: The Kind of Mornings' moved his carrier forward. After the huge success around the world with Netflix's 'Turn of the Tide', (now with multiple awards) Soren has a number of other television shows and feature films coming up in Portugal. Soren also play the role of Max, in the second season of Alex de la Iglesias '30 Coins' (HBO MAX), 'Adi Dassler' in Armando Bo's 'El Presidente. The Corruption Game', also directed by Daniel Rezende, and not at least in Isabella Eklofs exciting adaptation of Kim Leines debut novel 'Kalak' which one two major prizes at after the world premiere at the Donostia-San Sebastian International Film Festival. - Soren Hellerup made a general audition for Hector Babenco's "My Hindu Friend" after the scripts was turned into English. Mr. Babenco was so happy with the audition that Soren got invited to support in the casting process, as well as in the extended rehearsals and was given 5 roles to chose from to play in the film.
- Soren Hellerup was on vacation in Denmark, when his Sao Paulo agent called about the role of the American producer in "Bingo. O rei das manhas". Soren made a tape of the assigned scene, and even the director very much liked the work, they were concerned about the Scandianvian accent of Soren. After 2 more taped auditions, and a 2 hour long session with the casting director Luciano Baldan and director Daniel Rezende, they decided to change the name of the background of the character and Soren Hellerup was offered the part, now called "Peter Olsen".
- 2022 marks the 40 years for Sorens graduation from the National Danish Drama School in Copenhagen. This also marks the first work back in Denmark, after 38 years abroad, working with the award winning Scandinavian director, Isabella Eklof in the adaptation of Kim Leines novel: "Kalak".
