Image
Whether you like it or not, Barney the Dinosaur is ready for his comeback. The purple, pudgy T-Rex is back with a new look, a new cartoon, and, as you might expect, plenty of new merchandise, courtesy of Mattel. Barney's World, an animated series featuring the characters from the original PBS series, is coming this fall. In addition, Barney will have a new voice, courtesy of actor Jonathan Langdon, whose appearance in the M. Night Shyamalan thriller Trap made him a viral meme over the summer.

Barneys World will premiere October 14 on Max, with a premiere on Cartoon Network on October 18. The first season will include 52 episodes of 11 minutes each, and select episodes will also be available to watch on YouTube, with the first episode premiering on October 11. The new series is a joint venture with Mattel and Warner Bros. Discovery.

Barney The Dinosaur To Be Rebooted In New Animated Series
Image
Barney is now getting rebooted into an animated series. Barney is the eponymous purple dinosaur who debuted in 1988 with Barney & the Backyard Gang, and became best recognized from the television series Barney & Friends. The series began in 1992 and wrapped in 2010, spanning over 200 episodes. Different actors have worn the Barney suit and provided a voice to the amicable prehistoric character, including Bob West and Dean Wendt as the voice of Barney. West played the role from 1992-2000, with Wendt picking up his work in 2001 and than appearing up until the ending of Barney & Friends.

As per Variety, Barney is now being revived into a new series. The series will take the form of a new animated series premiering on Max, titled Barney's World. Barney's World will be set on a playground, where the titular purple Tyrannosaurus Rex is joined by fellow dinosaurs, Billy and Baby Bop along with their three human children best friends,...

A24's Barney: Everything We Know About Daniel Kaluuya's Adult-Focused Movie
Image
A24, the studio behind Midsommar and Hereditary, is making a live-action Barney movie, and it's being produced by Nope and Get Out star Daniel Kaluuya. However, what might really come as a shock to parents who grew up singing along with Barney and his friends is that this movie is geared toward adults. A24 is not known for kids' fare, and Daniel Kaluuya has gained a reputation for his horror movies with Jordan Peele, so the two coming together to reimagine a family-friendly franchise traditionally geared toward preschoolers could be surefire box-office gold.

However, parents don't need to worry about whether this will be another Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey, as this is not going to put a horror spin on the purple dinosaur. Instead, this is just going to be a more adult take on the idea of a giant purple dinosaur befriending children around the world. It...

How I Met Your Mother Review: The Dobler Dahmer Theory
This week on How I Met Your Mother, Ted and the others explored the fine line between love and insanity.

"P. S. I Love You" took us back to the age of jelly bracelets and graffiti coats, as we witnessed a teen idol's fall from stardom. Barney, Ted and Marshall's eyes were all opened to just how easily life can go from charming to alarming when dealing with matters of the heart.

Starting with Ted... oh how I would have loved Abby Elliot to be the mother. I have missed her ever since her departure from Saturday Night Live. My heart skipped a beat when I saw her character, Jeanette, seated across from Ted on that subway car. For an instant, my imagination ran wild, without any recognition of what we know about how Ted meets his wife. In the end Jeanette wasn't his "John Cusack," but Ted was quite...
