Shyaporn Theerakulstit is a Thai-American actor, writer and director, born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and based in New York City. He is known for The Flight Attendant, Girls5Eva, and the upcoming Focus Features film Song Sung Blue with Hugh Jackman and Kate Hudson. He is also a content creator, cosplayer and "fake science" lecturer.
He is the host of the Nerd Nite and REAL/fake Science lecture series, and has given talks on Godzilla biology, how to become Batman, and the technology of Star Trek vs. Star Wars at TEDx, Caveat NYC, C2E2, the New York Fringe Festival, and the Smithsonian Institution in Washington, D.C.
His YouTube channel has over 5 million views and has been featured by Comedy Central and Huffington Post. He has hosted numerous panels at New York Comic Con, Book Expo and Anime NYC, and won "Best in Show" and "Crowd Favorite" at the 2013 New York Comic Con Cosplay Contest for his Khan Noonien Singh. He also played the superhero King Tiger in a series of videos for Dark Horse Comics.
Shyaporn is a graduate of NYU's Tisch School of the Arts, where he studied at the Stella Adler Conservatory and Classical Studio, and holds a degree in traditional Shaolin kung fu from Alan Lee's Chinese Kung Fu Wu Su Association, one of the oldest martial arts schools in New York City.
