CBS Made a Terrible Mistake Canceling The Challenge USA After Stellar Season 2
Image
CBS made a critical error canceling The Challenge USA spinoff, which merged the reality TV worlds of CBS and MTV.

Season 2 further expanded upon this, as some of The Challenge’s most memorable and entertaining stars entered the fray, immediately battling to survive amongst CBS personalities.

Despite having the likes of Johnny Bananas, Wes Bergmann, and Amanda Garcia mixed in with stars from Amazing Race, Big Brother, and Survivor, USA ended after that second season.

The Challenge USA needed to continue, as we believe there was much more life left in this spinoff concept that fans would’ve loved to see.

(CBS/Best screengrab) USA 2 Pitted The Challenge’s Heavy Hitters vs CBS Stars

While Season 1 featured only CBS reality TV stars, The Challenge USA Season 2 brought in six MTV OGs: Bananas, Amanda, Wes, Cory Wharton, Tori Deal, and Jonna Mannion.

The Challenge’s Steve Meinke shares whether he plans to return after All Stars Rivals win
Jake Cornish, Izzy Fairthorne, Olivia Kaiser, Justin Hinsley, Chris 'C.T.' Tamburello, Blue Kim, Dee Valladares, Leonardo Dionicio, Johnny 'Bananas' Devenanzio, Cara Maria Sorbello, and Leroy Garrett in The Challenge (1998)
The Challenge: All Stars Rivals brought a variety of individuals back to the competition, including former Road Rules castmates Katie Cooley, Adam Larson, and Steve Meinke.

Due to the theme and format, Adam and Steve were partners, following Steve’s sly move to steal Adam’s Star in All Stars 4.

However, the duo co-existed fine on Rivals, endured repeatedly going into eliminations, and ultimately won the season’s grand prize.

They even correctly determined each other’s answer to host Tj Lavin’s twist about splitting or keeping the $250,000 prize.

Following the season finale on MTV, one cast member announced retirement from The Challenge.

Steve, 48, also revealed whether or not he feels he’ll compete again or ride off into the sunset after the big win.

‘The Challenge All Stars’ winner Steve Meinke on redemption, rivalries, and being labeled the ‘boring guy’
Image
The Challenge All Stars: Rivals came to a dramatic end on Wednesday when Adam Larson and Steve Meinke edged out Da'Vonne Rogers and Shane Landrum by just one star to win the $250,000 grand prize. Frank Fox and Sam McGinn finished in third place, with Melissa Reeves and Nicole Zanatta in fourth.

For Steve, winning The Challenge was redemption after he "screwed the pooch" in All Stars 4 by misreading instructions and allowing Laurel Stucky to beat him to the finish line. "It was absolutely embarrassing," he tells Gold Derby (see the video interview above). "If you know me, it's the most Steve way to lose something like this. Not against someone else, but myself."

It was a lesson learned for the 48-year-old Challenge vet. This season, Steve says he was hyperaware of the rules and listened to host Tj Lavin's directions with extreme concentration — even if it made him "look constipated.

Amber Borzotra and Faysal "Fessy" Shafaat were the latest pair eliminated from The Challenge All Stars: Rivals on Wednesday night. After being voted into elimination, the former adversaries were taken out by Nany Gonzalez and Turbo Camkiran. "We didn't have [enough] allies in the game to have the numbers," Amber tells Gold Derby. "There was a lot going on I didn't know about."

In this competitive season that pairs players with an arch nemesis from the past, some duos like Amber and Fessy were able to quickly build a bridge to friendship. "I really did want to win. I wanted to win for Fessy — just to prove we could have won a final together ... I was hungry this season. My biggest reason was my daughter and my second biggest reason was showing Fessy he should have stuck with me the first time."

The Challenge Season 41 spoilers reveal more rookie cast members and elimination results
Jordan Wiseley
The Challenge Season 41 is filming in Chile, and spoilers continue to update fans interested in who’s there and who’s gone home.

The latest installment of the competition series follows Battle of the Eras, which MTV billed as an epic 40th season.

Former show winners Jordan Wiseley, Jenny West, and Rachel Robinson won the final, adding more career victories and dollars to their bank accounts.

That season featured only returning cast members who had participated in the show for at least a season or more between the flagship and spinoffs.

Season 41 will change that format, as veteran stars and rookie cast members from various backgrounds, including reality television, will compete.

The multi-time finalist last appeared on MTV’s Battle of the Eras, where he participated in Era 3 alongside champions Jordan Wiseley, Tori Deal, and Jonna Mannion.

With Season 40 over, attention shifted to All Stars Rivals, as the spinoff airs on MTV.

Some of Cory’s friends and castmates are part of the cast, including Devin Walker, Leroy Garrett, Nany Gonzalez, and Ashley Kelsey.

T.J. Lavin
Sylvia Elsrode showed up for The Challenge: All Stars 5, where host Tj Lavin soon informed the cast members it was a Rivals season.

Due to that theme, Sylvia got paired with her feuding foe KellyAnne Judd from their previous All-Stars season.

It was clear early on that even though they needed to team up and work together to stay out of eliminations and get to the final, that was an issue.

Within just a few episodes, Sylvia and KellyAnne got into a heated argument, with castmates needing to separate them.

KellyAnne and her partner also had a blowup during a daily challenge involving heights, and ultimately, the duo got eliminated from the show.

The Challenge stars Cory Wharton and Paulie Calafiore slam All Stars 5 cast after poor performance

The newest season of The Challenge: All Stars features the most unique cast so far, but some of their former castmates aren’t too impressed.

Recent remarks from Cory Wharton and Paulie Calafiore blasted many of the All Stars Rivals cast members after seeing them in action- or their inaction.

Viewers have seen multiple cast members struggle to participate in those tasks, including OGs Katie Cooley and Darrell Taylor.

However, the surprise for viewers was how many cast members participated in and completed that daily challenge.

The Challenge star Jonna Mannion calls out All Stars castmates for inaccurate Rivals scoop

Jonna Mannion called out several of her castmates from The Challenge: All Stars for details they gave her on the Rivals season.

On the show, cast members partner with castmates who have a rivalry or feud with them. Some of these castmates are individuals they never wanted to see again.

That was Beth Stolarczyk for Jonna due to her putting Jonna’s alleged infidelity on blast during a previous All Stars season.

Despite their differences, the two-time All Stars winner wanted to try to work with Beth to win a third season of the spinoff.

The Challenge’s Beth Stolarczyk blasts All Stars ‘cheater’ castmate: ‘She never took responsibility’
Beth Stolarczyk
Beth Stolarczyk is fresh off another appearance in The Challenge: All Stars, this time returning for a Rivals-themed installment.

Like her previous stints on the show, based on MTV’s Og Challengers, Beth had another exit ahead of reaching a final.

The show’s format involved cast members teaming up with castmates they’ve feuded with or had some rivalry with, so The Challenge partnered Beth with Jonna Mannion.

While they first appeared as All Stars castmates on the debut season, Beth ignited their feud on Season 3 when she called out Jonna for allegedly cheating with castmate Mj Garrett.

Despite Beth’s attempts to bring Jonna down, The Real World: Cancun star emerged as a winner for her second-straight All Stars season.

However, Beth recently commented about her and Jonna’s brief run on All Stars 5, calling out her “cheater” castmate and suggesting she was fake to her during their chats.

While both Beth Stolarczyk and Jonna Mannion have been a part of the franchise since its early days, their feud started brewing in The Challenge: All Stars Season 3. The reason behind that, of course, was the cheating rumors Stolarczyk hurled at her fellow contestant.

Stolarczyk alleged during an episode of the show that Mannion and another contestant Mj Garrett were involved in an affair. Incidentally, both Garrett and Mannion are married to different people. As such, the accusations not only shocked the fans, but also caused problems in their respective relationships. Hence, the feud began.

The Challenge All Stars: Rivals cast: What happened between each pair
Image
A new season of The Challenge: All Stars has arrived, but there are some huge changes in store. First of all, season 5 won't stream exclusively on Paramount+ as the spinoff has since its premiere in 2021. This time around, the All Stars edition of the franchise will air on MTV for the very first time, but that's not the only change fans can expect for the new season.

The Challenge star Wes Bergmann blasts castmate Josh Martinez as ‘obsessed’ and ‘least trustworthy person’
Image
Wes Bergmann called out his former castmate, Josh Martinez, following an exchange about their reality shows.

Josh recently appeared in the epic season of The Challenge: Battle of the Eras as one of the representatives on the Era 4 team.

Wes didn’t appear since he had previously announced his retirement on The Challenge: USA 2 spinoff.

However, he continues to share his thoughts about MTV’s competition series through social media and his Patreon for subscribers.

In addition, Wes continued to appear on other reality television shows. He grabbed the relay baton from former Challenge castmate Johnny Bananas, who appeared in the first season of House of Villains.

Wes was among the cast members in House of Villains Season 2, and several messages from Josh had him slamming his former castmate about their history on The Challenge.

Glen Powell Got His TV Start on a Survivor Style Show Called Endurance
Image
Quick Links Glen Powell Was on Endurance Before Becoming an A-Lister The Difficulties of Filming Endurance With a Teenage Cast

Glen Powell is having a moment right now. It's a Glenaissance, if you will. The bankable leading man has seen massive recent success with movies like Top Gun: Maverick, Anyone But You, Twisters, and 2025's The Running Man. While he's most known for those film roles today, Powell's small screen debut came in an unlikely place.

Powell is mostly known for his TV guest spots, with his first leading role coming up in Hulu's Chad Powers next year. But Powell's first TV credit was not for anything scripted. Instead, he was a contestant on the Discovery Kids show Endurance. Described as a Survivor-style show for teens, this series enjoyed an impressive six-season run from 2002 to 2008. It wasn't exactly Powell's big break, as his time on the show was rather limited.

The Challenge star Wes Bergmann addresses potential future appearances on the show
Wes Bergmann
Although Wes Bergmann announced his retirement from The Challenge during CBS’ USA Season 2 spinoff, many fans continue to beg for his return.

He’s been among the noticeable absences in Season 40, aka Battle of the Eras, which has many of the all-time greats assembled in its 40-person cast.

They include show winners Johnny Bananas, Laurel Stucky, Jordan Wiseley, Chris “Ct” Tamburello, and Cara Maria Sorbello.

While he’s retired from the show, he’s been visible, appearing on Bananas’ podcast and expressing his opinions on social media.

With the former Real World star still heavily involved in the show’s fandom, some might think he’s contemplating a return to the competition.

Wes recently addressed whether he intends to appear on The Challenge or one of its spinoffs, such as the popular All Stars series he’s won.

The Challenge’s Brad Fiorenza recalls ‘traumatic experience’ going on and ‘sleepless nights’ during Season 40
Brad Fiorenza in The Challenge (1998)
According to Brad Fiorenza, he once again wasn’t in the best headspace when he competed on The Challenge: Battle of the Eras.

Brad was part of the legendary Era 1 team on the 40-person cast, including other MTV OGs such as Chris “Ct” Tamburello, Tina Barta, Mark Long, and Rachel Robinson.

After appearing on multiple installments of The Challenge: All Stars spin-off and his mercenary guest role in MTV’s Season 39, he appeared as part of MTV’s flagship show for his first full-time season since Final Reckoning.

However, his time competing on Battle of the Eras got cut short due to his lack of strategy and success in the elimination event.

Era 3’s Cory Wharton defeated Brad in a game that involved throwing balls at speartips pointing out from a wall. Cory managed to get more of the balls he threw to stick on spears and eliminated all...

The Challenge star Josh Martinez blasted by fans for being ‘scared’ and ‘easily manipulated’ in Season 40
Image
Josh Martinez has become one of the most polarizing cast members in The Challenge’s 39-season history, and fans continue to criticize him during Season 40.

Despite multiple appearances, the former Big Brother winner has yet to reach a final, let alone win a season of MTV’s competition series.

His appearance in MTV’s Battle of the Eras surprised some fans who might have expected his fellow castmate and another Big Brother star, Faysal “Fessy” Shafaat, to be there.

However, it’s hard to argue against Josh being an individual who brought some of the show’s emotional and dramatic moments in recent seasons. Those highlights seemingly qualified him for Season 40’s Era 4 team.

He’s survived past eliminations through most of the early season because he hadn’t been a target for his team. However, that nearly changed in Episode 5.

Luckily for Josh and his teammate Jenny West, Era 4 won the daily challenge,...

Was Jonna Mannion Set Up On ‘The Challenge’?
Image
The most common reason a person would agree to compete on a game show is to win money. For contestants on The Challenge: Battle of the Eras, that so happens to be the case. Jonna Mannion was just eliminated from the competition in Season 40, Episode 6, which means that cash prize is now out of reach for her. Where did things go wrong for the reality TV star? Stick around for the details.

Jonna Mannion Says She Was “Set Up”

Jonna spoke candidly about her elimination with Entertainment Weekly saying she’s convinced she was “set up” by people who were supposed to be on her own team. The pressure was on for Jonna and her competitors because they knew exactly what was at stake. Winning The Challenge means taking home a massive cash price of $1 million split among those who come out on top. That’s enough money to make...

Jonna Mannion in The Challenge (1998)
Jonna Mannion says that her going into elimination on The Challenge: Battle of the Eras was due to a setup by her team.

Jonna, a former Real World: Cancun cast member, achieved back-to-back wins during her return for The Challenge: All Stars spin-off.

She also appeared on the World Championship spin-off, but her time competing there got cut short due to her partner’s unfortunate injury.

It was her first MTV season since 2015’s Battle of the Exes II, and she joined the Era 3 team, which also featured show winners Jordan Wisely, Tori Deal, and Devin Walker.

However, Episode 5 saw Jonna and her teammate Cory Wharton as her team’s targets heading into elimination.

While Cory managed to oust Era 1’s Brad Fiorenza from the game, Jonna couldn’t defeat former The Challenge winner Rachel Robinson.

The Challenge star Jordan Wiseley addresses ‘toxic’ castmate missing Season 40: ‘What has she done?’
Wes Bergmann
The Challenge: Battle of the Eras features a stacked cast of 40 competitors from 39 seasons of MTV’s competition series, although fans believe there were some significant snubs.

Some prominent cast members that fans believe should’ve been included are former Challenge winners Wes Bergmann, Zach Nichols, and Ashley Mitchell.

Ashley, a two-time champion, last appeared on MTV in the Spies, Lies & Allies season.

However, her time on that installment was cut short by a sudden and mysterious disqualification from the show announced by host Tj Lavin over halfway through an episode.

Online rumors revealed that she had an unaired altercation with a castmate while filming and some of her remarks crossed the line. Other castmates later confirmed that.

After winning two of The Challenge: All Stars seasons on Paramount+, Jonna Mannion returned to MTV as one of the 40 cast members for Battle of the Eras.

The epic 40th season features four teams of 10 competitors, determined by the eras they represented in MTV’s 39 previous seasons of The Challenge.

The Challenge’s Wes Bergmann wants classic reality TV show’s return, but fans aren’t sure

Wes Bergmann is among The Challenge’s greats and is considered an MTV Og due to his start on the network.

The two-time winner of MTV’s The Challenge and All Stars 3 spinoff winner debuted on 2005’s The Real World: Austin. His castmates included fellow future Challengers Nehemiah Clark and Melinda Stolp.

After multiple seasons of The Challenge, Wes announced his retirement from the franchise during CBS’ USA 2 spinoff. He was not among the cast members revealed for MTV’s Season 40.

Still, he’ll likely be rooting for his Og castmates on The Challenge: Battle of the Eras, including Johnny Bananas, Nehemiah Clark, Ct Tamburello, Jonna Mannion, and KellyAnne Judd.

They all share the commonality of starting on the now-defunct reality TV show, The Real World.

According to Wes, it’s time for someone to bring back the iconic reality TV show, although fans had mixed reactions.
