Ricardo Hofstetter is an award-winning writer, playwright and screenwriter. He was an exclusive Author-Screenwriter for TV Globo for 23 years, where he wrote the telenovelas Malhação, Beleza Pura and Além do Horizonte and comedy shows by Chico Anysio, among others. Its biggest success was the 2004 season of the teen telenovela Malhação, the Vagabanda season, reaching the highest historical audience of the show with an average of 32 points and launching names like Marjorie Estiano and Juliana Didone.
In movies, he wrote the screenplay for the feature film Papai é Pop, with Lázaro Ramos and Paolla Oliveira, Casos & Casais and has several others in production.
He was the founder and president of AR - Associação de Roteiristas and ABRA - Associação Brasileira de Autores Roteiristas, the largest association of audiovisual script professionals in Brazil.
In theater, he had several of his plays staged, having received the Shell award for best text in 2004 with "Geraldo Pereira, um escurinho Brasileiro".
In literature, he published several novels, some of them finalists for the Jabuti Prize.
He has a master's degree in Literature, Culture and Contemporaneity from PUC-RJ, where he eventually teaches scripting courses for TV and movies at the undergraduate and graduate level.
