John Duff was born on December 31st,1969, in Columbus, Ohio..As a child, he moved west with his family to Tustin, California. Then he went to New Mexico to play college football. He is also known as Big John Duff.
Before John Duff became an actor, stuntman and running double, he played in five games over the course of two seasons for the Los Angeles Raiders before they moved to Oakland. His jersey was number 84. His positions played were Tight End and Defensive End. He was with the Raiders from 1993 to 1994. His brother is fellow actor and American Football player, Jamal Duff (born March 11, 1972).
John Duff then retired from football and became an actor who served as running double for Tommy 'Tiny' Lister, Jr.'s Klaang in the Star Trek: Enterprise pilot episode "Broken Bow". Duff doubled Lister, Jr. during the chase in the cornfield, filmed on location in Bakersfield on 12 June 2001 and 13 June 2001.
Duff, had supporting roles in three films alongside The Rock; 2003 in the action comedy The Rundown, which features Trek performers William Lucking, Dennis Keiffer, Todd Stashwick, and Jeff Chase, 2007 in the comedy The Game Plan, along with Gordon Clapp, and 2009 in the science fiction remake Race to Witch Mountain, along with Ike Eisenmann, Robert Clendenin, John Kassir, and Arne Starr.
Other appearances include an episode of Angel (2004, with Alec Newman and Kevin Grevioux), the action drama Circuit 3: The Street Monk (2006, with Kevin Indio Copeland and James Lew), the action drama Lords of the Underworld (2007, with Derek Graf, David Mattey, Justin Riemer, and Douglas Tait), and more recently the horror film Blood: The Last Vampire (2009, with Joey Anaya).Since then he has found parts in many movies, and his talent, his face and extra large stature has become well known.
