‘Impact Wrestling’ Review (Sept 13th 2018)
Welcome to this week’s Impact Wrestling review, right here on Nerdly. I’m Nathan Favel and we have some different things to cover from the house that Aj Styles… kept from going bankrupt… for a while.

Match #1: Lucha Bros (Pentagon Jr & Fenix) vs. Cult of Lee (Trevor Lee & Caleb Konley) The following is courtesy of Impact Wrestling.com:

Lucha Bros gain control in the early going with a flurry of double-team offence! Lee distracts the referee while Konley illegally attacks Fenix to turn the tide. Cult of Lee connects with a top rope double stomp into an electric chair on Fenix but Pentagon breaks up the pin attempt! Pentagon and Fenix hit in-sync superkicks to Lee and Konley. Fenix connects with a springboard crossbody to Konley on the outside. Meanwhile, Pentagon hits a super lung-blower on Lee for a near fall. Fenix spikes Lee into a Fear Factor...

33 Wtf Moments From Tna One Night Only: Rivals 2016
ImpactWrestling.com

Tna have strangely downplayed the presence of their latest pay-per-view, One Night Only: Rivals, compared to last month’s event (which actually got a few shout-outs on Impact), and though hardly a show for the ages, it featured a few rock solid bouts…alongside a dumptruck full of filler.

Though it only aspires to be a three-hour version of Impact with zero storyline content and likely won’t ever get mentioned on Tna programming, it was still jam-packed with bizarre fan interactions, commentary zingers both hilarious and cringe-worthy, and the sloppy production that comes with airing matches out of sequence that were filmed on separate days.

Save yourself three hours and get the low-down: here are 33 Wtf moments from Tna One Night Only: Rivals 2016…

15 Sexiest Ever WWE Raw Moments
WWE.com

Sexuality used to be a key element of WWE Raw.

I know, I know…don’t fall off of your chairs out of shock and awe.

During the height of Attitude, and even well into the Ruthless Aggression Era, women and their willingness to show off their bodies in highly sexual and suggestive matches and segments were as important to the 18-35 male demographic as the colorful characters and hardcore matches that occurred every Monday night. Those fans wanted as much to be turned on by the exploits of their favorite sexy, barely clothed Divas as they did the wild and chaotic action that unfolded elsewhere on the show.

Over the course of a decade, women such as Trish Stratus, Lita, Sable, Sunny, Christy Hemme and Stacy Keibler provided fans with exactly what they wanted. Whether they were kissing each other or kicking one another in Bra and Panties matches,...

How Tough Enough Has Changed WWE Diva Search
WWE.com

WWE is bringing back the Diva Search to WWE Network this year, but they are still working on the structure of the show, according to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter.

The format was going to be like Tough Enough likely with a host, coaches and judges, but WWE has recognized the issues they have with the Tough Enough. They feel like since the format hasn’t worked that well that they need to make some changes to what they had planned for the Divas Search.

Since WWE hasn’t announced anything in terms of a casting call or application process, they may have a tough time fitting in this year. It takes time to set something up like that. Perhaps there will be some sort of formal announcement in the coming weeks after Tough Enough is over at the end of August.

It’s interesting that they...

Christy Hemme Quits Tna Wrestling
Tumblr

Christy Hemme has quit Tna and the sport of professional wrestling, reports PWInsider.

She has been with the company since 2006 in a number of different roles but reports say she’s leaving because of an incredible job opportunity outside of the wrestling business.

Hemme joined Tna when she was fresh off winning the WWE Divas Search in 2004, after a noteworthy stint with WWE that lasted less than two years. She found a home in Tna first as a manager and then as a regular wrestler. A neck injury sidelined her, though, so she transitioned to being a backstage interviewer in 2009 and later, ring announcer. Hemme gave birth to her first child (a daughter) in January, so she’s heading on a different path in her life.

In addition to those on screen roles, Hemme also worked with the creative team, going over the looks of certain wrestlers and in...

Scott Hall Snubs Child Dying From Cancer
wwe.com

The Wrestling Observer reports that Scott Hall has spurned a ‘get well soon’ card for a child with terminal cancer. It’s the latest in a sting of incomprehensible incidents around Hall’s actions and attitude.

Despite having made vast riches in the wrestling boom period, despite asking fans to pay for his own recent surgeries, Hall couldn’t even spare his signature for the sick child’s card. The Observer notes that this move will have infuriated Bill Goldberg, who already disliked Hall, and who was taking the cause of the child personally.

The young boy is six year old Danny Nickerson. He lives in Boston and the Observer states that he may not have much time left. Several big name wrestlers were asked to sign a card for him at a Phoenix Autograph event. All of them obliged, including Ric Flair, Bill Goldberg, Kevin Nash, Bret Hart and Edge.

10 WCW Divas Who Posed Nude
WCW

Nowadays, you’ll be lucky to see a WWE Diva in a two-piece bikini in the ring. But back in the late 90s and early 2000s, the WWF/WWE had a strong and successful partnership with Playboy Magazine. This allowed the world to be treated to the tastefully nude sights of women such as Sable, Chyna, and Christy Hemme. Given the climate of the company back then, WWE wasn’t as eager to hand out the pink-slip if they found out one of their Divas had a brief foray into pornography (case in point, Mickie James).

During the first year of the WWF’s initial partnership with Playboy, during the legendary sales run of Sable’s premiere issue, there was another wrestling company around that featured their own array of busty talent.

Although it’s been thirteen years since World Championship Wrestling closed its doors for good, the legacy...

10 WWE Divas Who Refused To Get Naked
WWE.com

I’m sure most fans would like people to think that the only reason they stay tuned in when the WWE Divas are wrestling is for the athletic ability on display and the in-ring storytelling. That they enjoy the women wrestlers in the same way they do the men, viewing them as nothing other than competitors trying to reach the pinnacle of their chosen profession

Come on, son.

When women wrestling began, that may have been true, as most of the performers were average to below average-looking scrappers who were much more intimidating than titillating. But since the late 90s, female wrestling has taken a dramatic turn, evolving into more exhibitionist displays with a peep show aesthetic, with a roster populated with gorgeous models.

That’s not to say the wrestling was bad. Quite the contrary, actually. Along with the influx of eye candy came a drastic improvement in workrate.

Tna Impact: Looking At The “Corpus Christi Hemme: Web Designer” Edition
After last week’s Full Metal Mayhem, I was interested to see the second dose of Impact from Corpus Christi. There was a lot more action and a lot less Hogan. Although, the hand we were dealt with the Aces and Eights might not have been the strongest no matter how many beat downs they do. But I’ll explain soon enough.

Impact Wrestling began with a video package detailing the events of last week and that Jeff Hardy would not be appearing on this weeks episode. Then we go backstage and see the Sergeant in arms for Aces and Eights Devon talking to be younger, Garrett Bischoff and Wes Brisco that they need to take their match with Kurt Angle very seriously because he’s dangerous.

Wes and Garrett make their way to the ring but before we see Angle they give us a video package detailing the whole...

Austin Aries Is The New Tna World Champion!
No it isn’t a misprint or a communication error. It’s not a hoax or a prank. Blink once, blink twice, rub your eyes if you have to (gently of course). Now look at the headline again. Are you smiling? You should be.

At Destination X the 34 year old realised a life long dream and shook the professional wrestling world to its very core. Not just because he beat Bobby Roode, the man with the longest Tna World Championship reign in history, but because of who he is and how he did it. It has long been considered amongst Wrestling fans that if you want to watch the modern day product you are going to have to put up with a lot of pain with not much joy in return. Gone are the days, it seems, that wrestling takes priority over selling merchandise to children or telling people who or what is trending worldwide.

Tna Slammiversary Results – Bobby Roode Defeats Sting, James Storm Returns
Tna Slammiversary pay-per-view was held last night from the University of Texas in Arlington and we have the results below;

Tna World Heavyweight Champion Bobby Roode defeated Sting to retain his title when he used a beer battle that James Storm had left at ringside and bashed Tna’s first Hall of Fame inductee over the head with it. Sting beat-down Roode after the match and hit him with a Scorpion Death Drop off the entrance ramp.

Miss Tessmacher defeated Gail Kim to become the Tna Women’s Knockout Champion. This title changed ended Kim’s record 210-day run as champion. Christy Hemme appeared after the match to interview the new champion and Brooke called her victory “truly epic” and said, “God Bless America”.

Mr. Anderson defeated Jeff Hardy and Rob Van Dam to become the #1 Contender for the World Heavyweight Title. Anderson will take on Bobby Roode for the...

Tna Against All Odds 2012 Review – Bobby Roode Retains
Tna Against All Odds Recap

12th February 2012

Live From The Impact! Zone

Backstage the annoying cameraman tries to talk to Jeff Hardy but he just smirks and walks on. Rude. Following that, the opening video packages focuses on the World Title match and how important Hogan thinks the company is. It is a Vegas themed logo but that’s about as far as the theme gets. No Tazz tonight as he is dealing with a family death, so we have Tenay and Borash on the headsets.

#1 Contender’s Match to the X Division Title

Zema Ion vs. Jesse Sorensen

All that hairspray is bad for the environment Zema. Matt Morgan is not the only one with a “Carbon Footprint.” Jesse carries his football as always in this battle of the entrance props. He give his to a kid at ringside cause he’s that kind of guy. Zema gets in...

Randy Orton Returns January 16th WWE Raw in Anaheim, California
Randy Orton is scheduled for the January 16th WWE Raw SuperShow from Anaheim, California, the event that is expected to mark his return from the injury that is currently keeping him out on the sidelines. Orton was reported to have suffered a herniated disc on the L4-L5 level on the left side and that some reports said could keep him out for six months but with an extremely light schedule, he could return sooner.

Orton is also scheduled and still advertised for the WWE Royal Rumble taking place from January 29th in St. Louis, Missouri… Orton’s hometown. Early talk was of Orton winning the Royal Rumble and then going on to face the SmackDown World Heavyweight Champion at WrestleMania 28 and at the very least he will be a contender now for the 30-man match.

Meanwhile in other SmackDown news, ring announcer Lilian Garcia celebrated the New Year by...
