Venu first acted in a movie called "JAI" which is directed by Teja. He became popular for his comedy timing in acting. He is also a good writer which made him write his own scenes and some stage plays. He became even more popular in television show called "Jabardasth" in which he was leader of an team and played many comical character. He also wrote dialogues and scripts for few movies like "Rudrama Devi" He made his directorial debut with a film called "Balagam" which became an cult classic hit.
