Raiders! Review [Hot Docs 2015]
There was a fairly famous commentary in Wired a couple of years ago by Patton Oswalt that essentially came down to the comedian telling today’s movie geeks that they have it too easy. Back in the day, there was no internet to follow the development of a film blow-by-blow, there was no Internet Movie Database to learn who all the primary people behind the film were, and a home video was months, if not years, after the initial theatrical run, rather than weeks. In essence, the technology has taken the effort out of it, and truthfully, the same can be said about the art of filmmaking as well. Digital cameras, Photshop, Final Cut, it all means you can make a movie at home look like a top-notch professional effort.

All this has probably also leant to the rise of the fan film, an easy way for people who love...

True Blood Review: “We’ll Meet Again” (Season 5, Episode 4)
Despite my qualms with most of season 5, I have to admit that True Blood really picked up the slack this week. It seems as if everyone involved remembered what the show was really about, as the newest episode explores the relationships between characters in an effective manner that didn’t seem as jarring as the past few weeks. There’s still about four too many storylines being followed, but at least I could bring myself to care about them this time.

Sookie has taken more of a backseat role this season, and tonight’s episode is no different. After telling Alcide about her involvement with Debbie’s death, she incurs the wrath of Lafayette and his brujo, which almost kills her. Once she realizes she’s not really in anyone’s good graces, she spends the night hitting the bottle, eventually joined by Alcide. Their nice little kiss at the...

True Blood: Season 4, Episode 8: ‘Spellbound’
True Blood Review- Season 4, Episode 8: “Spellbound”

Written by Alan Ball

Directed by Daniel Minahan

Airs Sundays at 9pm (Et) on HBO

This week on True Blood: Sookie and Eric get stoned on each other’s blood, Marcus shows some good, and later bad, judgment, Tommy takes the money and runs, Mikey’s Ghost Nanny takes a shine to Lafayette, Jessica and Hoyt break up in two very different ways, Jason struggles to do the right thing, and Antonia and Eric don’t play nice.

After an off week, True Blood is mostly back on form. Overall, the acting is back to its high standard and several interesting developments push the plot forward. Unsurprisingly, Alcide and Debbie’s new pack leader, Marcus, is outed as Luna’s ex, but it was refreshing for him to show restraint at least as it pertains to the pack’s position in the vampire/witch feud.

True Blood 'I Wish I Was the Moon' Episode Guide
Happy weekend, bloodsuckers and fangbangers! True Blood is hot, heavy and well into its fourth season with this past Sunday's "I Wish I Was the Moon," and the next episode looks to be a woozy. The vengeful spirit of Antonia takes full possession of Marnie and readiest to enact her plan to eliminate all vampires.

So what do Trubies need to know for this Sunday's "Cold Grey Light of Dawn?" Is Bill really cool with loosing Eric into the woods to reunite (and unite they did, hey-o!) with Sookie? Will Tommy survive his new career as a Skinwalker? Will Marn-tonia really be the end of all vampires?

Check out our bite-by-bite guide of "I Wish I Was the Moon" and be sure to watch this Sunday's newest episode at 9pm on HBO!

In typical True Blood fashion, Sookie and Eric don't get their kiss for longer than two minutes...

Episode 67: Movie B.S. with Bayer and Snider – ‘Horrible Bosses,’ ‘Zookeeper’ and Pitch Me
This week on Movie B.S. with Bayer and Snider, we’re only talking about two movies hitting wide release. First up, it’s “Horrible Bosses” starring Jason Bateman, Charlie Day, Jason Sudeikis, Kevin Spacey, Jennifer Aniston, Colin Farrell and Jamie Foxx. Jeff was really excited for this one and decided it was simply good, not great. Eric liked it a little bit more. Next up the “family” comedy “Zookeeper” starring Kevin James. The animals talk, but both Jeff and Eric don’t think you should listen. We answer last week’s Qotw: In honor of “Horrible Bosses,” tell us about a horrible boss you’ve had. We also update our Summer Box Office Challenge explaining how Eric can still get Jeff to shave him. Finally, it’s a game of Pitch Me with Sylvester Stallone and Jon Hamm.

Qotw: In honor of “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2...

Episode 65: Movie B.S. with Bayer and Snider – ‘Cars 2,’ ‘Bad Teacher’ and ‘Conan O’Brien Can’t Stop’
Jeff Bayer and Eric D. Snider are … wait for it, wait for it …

talking movies this week on “Movie B.S. with Bayer and Snider.” First

up is Pixar’s animated sequel “Cars 2″ starring Larry the Cable Guy.

Yes, he’s the lead. Jeff and Eric don’t hate this movie, but it’s the

worst of the Pixar bunch. They also dive into what this “Cars” world

means. Next up is “Bad Teacher” starring Cameron Diaz, Justin

Timberlake and Jason Segel. Two of those three aren’t that funny is

this R-rated comedy. “Conan O’Brien Can’t Stop” shows Conan (warts and

all) after being fired from “The Tonight Show” and focuses on his

comedy tour. The boys play Interquel with “Gremlins” and “40 Year-Old

Virgin.” This week’s Qotw is dedicated to “Transformers: Dark of the

Moon” and it’s this …

Qotw – “What toy should be made into a movie?...
