A&E’s reality show Intervention hinges on a classic bait-and-switch: Participants are told they’re being filmed for a documentary about addiction, only to later discover they’re the subject of a well-orchestrated intervention. By the time it was canceled in 2013 after 13 seasons, Intervention’s premise was widely familiar. A&E premiered the first episode of its 14th season Sunday night. With a now-iconic premise,...

A&E's "Intervention" was a groundbreaking reality television series that brought many memorable hours of real people struggling with various forms of addiction. And while it leaves a legacy of compelling television and brutally honest stories, it has another legacy that's even more important. For the series finale -- after 13 seasons -- viewers got one more intervention, and a look back at many of the lives touched by the show.
Phillip (Season 4): “Me being alive today is definitely a miracle," said Phillip, who had his story told in Season 4. It was a sentiment echoed in different words by Zeinah (Season 11), Darick (Season 9), Suzon (Season 11) and more. And then there are all those people who weren't spotlighted, but still owe so much to the show.
In 243 interventions, 238 addicts went to treatment. 156 of them are sober today. It's both a startling reality about the difficulties of addiction, as well as a...

Ryan Seacrest just doesn't stop. After "American Idol", "Momma's Boys", "Kourtney and Khloe Take Miami" and several others, the TV personality is brewing a new reality show that takes on more serious issues like disorder, compulsion, weird phobia and unusual problem that is ruining one's life.
Teaming up with therapist Paul Mckenna, Seacrest would like to help people "overcome their life-ruining problems" through a show called "The Incurables". According to the press release, "the show offers a fascinating look inside the lives of ordinary people whose irrational behavior is so out of control that they are on the verge of a personal crisis."
Seacrest will stick to being the executive producer along with McKenna and Sam Mettler. McKenna would save lives by going into the homes of two 'incurable' people with different psychological and/or physical conditions in each 60-minute episode.
