Bosch is a procedural TV crime drama based on the Michael Connelly book series. The books and the TV series follow Harry Bosch, a homicide detective with the LAPD. Two-time Emmy winner Matthew Macfadyen is following up his incredible run as Tom Wambsgans in HBO’s critically acclaimed Succession with a starring role in The Miniature Wife. Emmy nominee Elizabeth Banks is also on board to star in the series, and both Banks and Macfadyen will serve as executive producers.

The series, described as a romantic dramedy, was just given a straight-to-series order by Peacock.

“The Miniature Wife, based on the short story written by Manuel Gonzalez, is a high-concept marital dramedy examining the power (im)balances between spouses, Lindy (Elizabeth Banks) and Les (Matthew Macfadyen), who battle each other for supremacy after a technological accident induces the ultimate relationship crisis,” reads Peacock’s synopsis.

Jennifer Ames and Steve Turner (Boardwalk Empire) created the dramedy and will guide the series as showrunners and executive producers. Additional executive producers include Michael Ellenberg and Lindsey Springer.

The 50-year-old Pitch Perfect actress and the 49-year-old Succession actor will be starring in the romantic dramedy series The Miniature Wife from creators, showrunners and executive producers Jennifer Ames, and Steve Turner.

Denis O’Dell, the British film producer whose association with The Beatles earned him the rare honor of being mentioned, if obliquely, in one of the group’s songs, died of natural causes at his home in Spain last night. He was 98.

His death was announced to the Associated Press in Lisbon, Portugal, by son Arran O’Dell.

O’Dell had worked on a number of films, including It’s A Wonderful World, Tread Softly Stranger (both 1958) and The Playboy of the Western World (1962) when he signed on as associate producer of A Hard Day’s Night in 1964, beginning an association with The Beatles that would return to public attention with the 2021 Peter Jackson-directed Disney+ documentary series The Beatles: Get Back. (O’Dell is the one who loaned the group Twickenham Studios for their planned TV special.)

It marks the latest overall deal by the Svod service, which revealed earlier this week it had closed an overall deal with Lena Waithe.

Amazon has renewed legal drama “Goliath” for a third season.

“Goliath” centers on washed-up lawyer Billy McBride, played by Billy Bob Thornton, who has one shot at redemption after a client he successfully defended from a murder charge went on to slaughter a family. Thornton won a Golden Globe for his performance in 2017.
