Before the theatrical release of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, rumors surfaced that Warner Bros. was putting together an R-rated special edition for its home video release. Director Zack Snyder confirmed that this Ultimate Edition will include 30 minutes of extra footage, including our first look at cast members who were cut out of the movie, including Jena Malone, Green Bay Packers running back Ahman Green and iconic bodybuilder guru C.T. Fletcher. Today we finally have our first look at this Ultimate Edition with a new trailer, which reveals Jena Malone's character, who apparently works with Amy Adams' Lois Lane at the Daily Planet.
The trailer, which debuted on Youtube (via Collider), also features extended footage from the North Africa sequence, along with a new character seen scratching a Batman symbol into a lottery ticket, which he shows off to Clark Kent. There is also footage from a...

While Batman v Superman has been one of the most divisive superhero movies in the history of the genre, we never really heard any fans complaining about the deluge of promotional materials that came out before the movie's debut in theaters. For the most part, the theatrical posters were welcomed with open arms. And it seems Warner Bros. did a proficient job when it came to selling the movie on opening weekend. But like with any big movie, the studio poured over quite a few concepts to get where they landed. Today, we get to see two of these rejected Dawn of Justice posters. And they perfectly capture the scarier side of these two heroes.
These posters come from a Reddit user. And as you can see, they didn't make it into the final marketing campaign, perhaps because they show Kal-El in a less than positive light. Though, after the movie debuted,...

Last week, a Swedish home video listing shed some new light on Warner Bros.' extended R-rated cut of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, which doesn't have a release date at this time, but will include 30 minutes of footage that wasn't shown in the theatrical cut. That report also revealed there will be more than two hours of special features for fans to dig into, although no details were given about what exactly will be included in the bonus content. While we wait for Warner Bros. to issue an official release date and new details, another report has come in which includes exactly what bonus features will be present on the Blu-ray release.
Australian retailer Jb HiFi doesn't have a street date for this Blu-ray release, but their description reveals the Blu-ray will include 10 featurettes. These bonus features are entitled Uniting The World's Finest, Gods And Men: A Meeting Of Giants,...

Back in February, the Motion Picture Association of America issued an R rating for an Ultimate Edition of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, which will debut on Blu-ray and DVD later this year. While we don't know exactly what will be included on this Ultimate Edition, director Zack Snyder recently teased that the R-rated cut will be a half-hour longer than the theatrical cut of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. Today that runtime was confirmed by a Swedish home video listing, which reveals the runtime is 181 minutes, exactly 30 minutes longer than the theatrical runtime of 151 minutes, along with 120 minutes of bonus features.
The director teased last month that he is putting back scenes that he was forced to cut so the film would get a PG-13 rating. He also revealed that there is no nudity, just more violence that "tipped the scales" from an R rating to PG-...

At two hours and thirty-three minutes, you may not be alone in thinking that Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice runs too long. If you're on the opposite side of this argument, and want a longer movie, you'll get your wish this summer when Warner Bros. Home Entertainment releases the Batman V Superman R-Rated Ultimate Cut, which runs nearly three hours. It has now been revealed by the ProVideo Coalition that the original cut of the movie, before any major scenes were trimmed down or removed altogether, was a whopping four hours. So if it felt like something was missing, it probably was.
Leading up to the release of Batman V Superman in theaters this past March, there was much noise made about the addition of Jena Malone to the cast. Especially since director Zack Snyder refused to be forthcoming about who she plays. While it's been widely reported that...

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice isn't being considered a straight up bomb by anyone. But that doesn't mean Warner Bros. and DC aren't disappointed in the movie's lackluster box office, which, despite a stellar opening, faced massive drop-offs in its second and third weekends of release. Now comes word that Warner Bros. is planning a big screen release for the R-rated cut in a means to squeeze a little more money out of it's theatrical run.
The Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice R-rated cut was announced for home release in the months leading up to the superhero epic's big screen debut. At the time, it was not believed that this 3 hour version of the movie would be playing at the local multiplex. Called The Ultimate Edition, director Zack Snyder has meticulously recut the film, adding in an additional 30 minutes of footage that was deleted from the original version.

Former NFL running back Ahman Green has been cut again ... this time it's from the upcoming 'Batman v Superman' blockbuster ... but don't fear, you could still see the Packers great on-screen. Green is a huge DC comics fan and 'BvS' director Zach Snyder is a huge Packers fan so when Green hit him up and asked for a spot in the movie ... all things were a go. Ahman shot his scenes as "Thug No. 2" a...

Not long ago came word that the digital home release of Zack Snyder's "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" will sport an R-rating - not a PG-13 like the theatrical version set to hit cinemas in three weeks.
Speaking about what's dubbed the "Batman v Superman Ultimate Cut" with EW, Snyder explained why this extended version was built:
"I'm a parent of young kids, and I feel like I wouldn't want to have a Batman v Superman that I couldn't show to my younger kids, But on the same token, as an adult, I like to see movies that are R-rated. I think nowadays because we have so many means of distribution and ways that we can do different things, it's the creative solution to a creative challenge. You can have multiple versions and I can show my son and my daughters this movie and feel confident that the stuff isn't too crazy,...

Ever since superhero movies started pulling in big numbers at the box office, a vast majority of them have been rated PG-13, which makes sense because the studio can then cater to the widest possible audiences, including the all-important teenage demographic. Last month, a paradigm shift of sorts occurred, with the massive success of 20th Century Fox's R-rated superhero movie Deadpool, which has already made more than $600 million worldwide. Last week, we reported that the upcoming Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice will get an R-rated "Ultimate Edition" on home video later this year, and now Entertainment Weekly got more details on this age-restrictive cut, from director Zack Snyder.
We reported earlier today that Jena Malone's mystery character was cut from the theatrical version, but the director did say her scenes will be included in the R-rated Ultimate Edition. He also shot down rumors that she's playing Robin or Batgirl,...

The success of Deadpool has paved the way for a new breed of superhero movie, one that can be both lucrative for studios and still respect their potentially bloody origins. While that’s now taking effect with an R-rated Wolverine movie, it looks as if Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice is still barreling ahead with a PG-13 rating in theaters. But it’s saving all the harder stuff for the R-rated Ultimate Edition.
Is this just a ploy to spin more money from diehard fans? Well, it could be, but director Zack Snyder and Ben Affleck don’t see it that way. Affleck calls the idea to release an adult version of the movie on home video “smart” as a way to appease larger audiences and a subset of fans who prefer their superhero antics served up with a touch more violence.
As for Snyder, here’s the rest...

Last week came word that the home release version of "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" would be rated R, and now director Zack Snyder is spilling the details on just what the "ultimate edition" will contain.
In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Snyder revealed that the R-rated version will be longer (duh). "We were just like, 'Okay, look. We're not making a three-hour movie. I mean, even I didn't want to make a three-hour movie. I drove the cuts probably harder than anyone."
Adding back in scenes, or lengthening existing ones, means the inclusion of characters who ended up on the cutting room floor. One of those is a character played by Jena Malone, who was cut from the theatrical version. Fans had been speculating that Malone might play Batgirl, or even Robin, but Snyder cleared that up.
"She's definitely not Robin or Batgirl. I'm happy to say that,...

I don't know who is behind the marketing for Joe Carnahan's Stretch, which is now available on iTunes and Amazon, but they are definitely going all out and it doesn't appear to be Universal is going anywhere near it. That said, they have definitely captured the attention of the Internet, or, well, at least me as I'm something of a Carnahan fan and this new red band trailer would seem to either convince you to see the movie or keep you very far away from it. amz asin="B00O8O3W4U" size="small"Clearly the intent with Stretch is to see just how crazy and debaucherous things can get on the big screen as Patrick Wilson plays a down-on-his-luck chauffeur looking to relieve himself of some debt when he starts working for a billionaire (Chris Pine) who makes his life hell. That, however, only seems to be...
