‘Life and Trust’ Review: Faustian Bargains
Image
I can’t stop following Tori Sparks. Sparks plays a minion of the devil himself in Life and Trust, her face lighting up with wicked gleefulness as she waltzes with her Faustian prey, literally bouncing off walls while clasping her victim close. Later, in the eerie wings of a makeshift theater, she tries on a bright red dress matching her striking hair before gazing at herself in a mirror, half-coyly, shuddering as she clutches a drooping mask to her face.

I’d like to call it a can’t-miss performance. But take a left turn instead of a right, or dawdle a few extra moments to take in the vaulted ceilings, and you might miss Sparks altogether. That’s the cost of investing in...

Special honorees this year included Deirdre O’Connell (“Dana H.”), who was presented the Lifetime Achievement Award by Heidi Schreck; and David Henry Hwang, who was inducted onto the famed Playwrights’ Sidewalk by Jeanine Tesori.

‘All Our Children’ Theater Review: A Moving Play On The Nazi Genocide Of The Disabled
Among the countless atrocities of the Nazis, their efforts to kill off the disabled gets less attention than it should. 'Clinton: The Musical' Coming To New York City
Bill Clinton and Hillary Clinton will be the focus of Clinton: The Musical, a stage show that will soon be premiering in Manhattan.

Clinton: The Musical To Hit NYC

Clinton: The Musical will premiere at the New York Musical Theatre Festival next month at the Pershing Square Signature Center, reported Entertainment Weekly. It started out at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe – and due to a positive reception – later moved on to King’s Head, London.

“It’s hard enough being president by yourself. Bill Clinton’s problem is that there are two of him,” reads the show’s description. “Literally. Clinton follows two Bill Clintons and Hillary on their quest to save their presidency, change America and prove that ‘politics is show business for ugly people.’”

In addition to Hillary and the two Bills, the Clinton musical also features appearances by Newt Gingrich, Monica Lewinsky and Kenneth Star. Alet Taylor will...

Former 'Criminal Minds' Star Heads to Broadway
Following two seasons working on Criminal Minds as criminal profiler Jason Gideon, Mandy Patinkin left the show in 2007 due to creative differences.  Since then, he has graced the stage with his performances, opting to focus more on comedy and musicals.  In fact, he recently appeared in Reno, Nevada's Pioneer Center for Performing Arts, where he ended his little tour before heading back to the theater.  Most recently, it was announced that Patinkin will be taking on a Shakespearean role in his next project.

Mandy Patinkin will be playing Prospero in William Shakespeare's The Tempest, which will be shown at the Classic Stage Company beginning Thursday, September 3.

The 55-year-old former Criminal Minds star debuted in 1980 on Broadway with Andrew Lloyd Weber's Evita, playing Che.  He later won his first Tony Award for the role, and four years later was again recognized with a nomination for his starring role in the Pulitzer Prize-winning musical,...
