'Electric State' Trailer Reunites Chris Pratt With the Russo Brothers

Netflix has released a new trailer for the upcoming sci-fi blockbuster The Electric State, featuring special effects galore and an '80s-style Chris Pratt. Directed by Joe and Anthony Russo, the film looks to be a return to their blockbuster style of filmmaking after the character-driven Cherry and the still big but somewhat scaled-down The Gray Man. The Russos are best known for directing the epic conclusion to the Infinity Saga of the Marvel Cinematic Universe with Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame, proving that they are capable of telling a story as large-scale and ambitious as The Electric State.

'The Electric State' Used More VFX Than the Russo Brothers' MCU Movies

After their temporary break from Marvel movies, Joe and Anthony Russo have kept busy producing and directing. Their production company, Abgo, is involved in producing films like Everything Everywhere All at Once, and the brothers have directed films such as Cherry for Apple TV and The Gray Man for Netflix. Now, the directing duo are gearing up for the next big release for Netflix, The Electric State. While promoting the film, the Russo brothers were sure to highlight one of the key differences in making the upcoming blockbuster compared to their work at Marvel Studios.

The Electric State's trailer has arrived. The Netflix movie was directed by Joe and Anthony Russo (Avengers: Endgame and Infinity War) and is adapted from the 2018 novel by Simon Stlenhag. Set in an alternate 1997 where humanity is disconnected and robots have lost their freedom, the upcoming The Electric State follows Michelle (Millie Bobby Brown), who teams up with a robot to find her missing brother. The cast also includes Chris Pratt, Ke Huy Quan, Stanley Tucci, Giancarlo Esposito, and the voices of Brian Cox, Jenny Slate, Anthony Mackie, Billy Bob Thornton, Jason Alexander, Alan Tudyk, and Woody Harrelson.
