Barbra Streisand is being sued by a carpenter who claims he injured himself in a fall at her Malibu mansion. Carpenter Daniel Ortiz is accusing Streisand of “negligence” over the incident in 2007. He says he fell into a ditch while coming out of an on-site trailer and badly injured himself. A lawsuit filed in Los Angeles says Streisand “failed to take steps to either make the dangerous condition safe or warn Ortiz of the ditch”. Ortiz claims the accident caused him “humiliation, fear, discomfort, anxiety, loss of enjoyment of life, mental anguish, and emotional and physical distress”. He is demanding compensation for damages.

London, Dec 7 (Ians) Singing legend Barbra Streisand has been sued by a carpenter over allegations of negligence after he fell into a ditch while working at her California home.

Woodworker Daniel Ortiz was hired to help renovate the “Funny Girl” star’s property in Malibu in 2007. But while working on a trailer he fell straight into a ditch.

The carpenter claims Streisand and the contractors are guilty of negligence as they failed to make him aware of the hole in the ground, reported contactmusic.com.

The suit, filed Dec 2 at Los Angeles Superior Court, states that the star “failed to take steps to either make the dangerous condition safe or warn” Ortiz of the ditch.

Ortiz also alleges.
