Just months before her tragic death at 33, The Walking Dead actress Kelley Mack was fighting a battle most couldn’t see and re-learning how to walk was just one piece of it. While fans knew her as Addy from AMC’s post-apocalyptic universe, those who followed Mack’s journey on Instagram saw a woman facing glioma, a rare brain tumor, with honesty, wit, and strength. “Legs are on fire,” she said in a video of herself attempting to walk down stairs with help from her boyfriend, Logan.

Henry Golding has offered a major update about the future of the Crazy Rich Asians franchise. The original blockbuster rom-com, helmed by Wicked director Jon M. Chu, was a significant success critically and commercially when it hit theaters in 2018, as audiences bought into the opulence and glamour of the Asian jet set. A positive reception and strong box office performance usually lends itself to a sequel or spin-off being greenlit, and this Hollywood extravaganza is getting both, but the question remains: When are they coming?
HBO Max confirmed the development of a Crazy Rich Asians series earlier this year, with one of the film's original writers, Adele Lim, on board as the showrunner. In addition, she is executive producing the television adaptation of Kevin Kwan's novel of the same name alongside Chu, who has plenty of experience with the source material, having ushered in the glitzy cinematic affair. Grey’s Anatomy Season 21 ended in explosive fashion on Thursday night.
We mean this literally.
The final moments of the May 15 episode featured Meredith walking out of the hospital… only to see an explosion take place several stories above her in the operating room.
The concluding shot was of Meredith … as she turned around and stared in shock at the blast, while Warren sprinted back to help.
Harry Shum Jr, Kim Raver, Jason George and Anthony Hill in Grey’s Anatomy season 21. (Disney/Anne Marie Fox)
What does this mean looking ahead? For a show that has never (Ever!) been shy about killing off a character… or four.
We know Ellen Pompeo will return in some capacity for Season 22 as Meredith.
We know the same about Warren, partly because we saw them outside of the building when the explosion occurred — but also because showrunner Meg Marinis confirmed as much...

Spoiler Alert: The story includes details about the Season 21 finale of Grey’s Anatomy, “How Do I Live.”
In a signature fashion, the Grey’s Anatomy Season 21 finale put the doctors at Grey Sloan through the wringer.
First, Jenna (Piper Perabo), the distraught mother of 9-year-old Dylan, resorted to extreme measures to try to save her daughter who continued to deteriorate following her brain surgery. Not willing to sit and wait as Amelia (Caterina Scorsone) advised her, Jenna took things into her own hands.
Using a tank with explosive gas from her husband’s work supply as a weapon, she forced Amelia to operate on her daughter to try and fix what didn’t work the first time. Amelia had to go lo-tech, relying on a magnifying glass and her instincts — with Lucas’ (Niko Terho) help — to perform the highly risky surgery. She was eventually joined by Meredith (Ellen Pompeo) for a...

Is that really how Jo and Link are going to get married?
One of many developments from Grey’s Anatomy Season 21 Episode 16 is Jo and Link falling into a wedding in four days, which is underwhelming.
We also see Simone and Lucas unraveling further, Amelia struggling with her case, and whatever the heck is going on with Winston and Jules.
(Disney/Anne Marie Fox) Jules Lacks Boundaries with Winston
In fact, let me get into the latter of the bunch as I’m still uncertain how I feel about what’s developing between them.
The good news is that Adelaide Kane and Anthony Hill have great chemistry. Based on that alone, I can understand what they’re building upon, even if I’m still in a weird place when pairing them up.

Henry Golding shared an update on the upcoming Max and Warner Bros. Crazy Rich Asians TV series from Adele Lim, Jon M. Chu, and Kevin Kwan.
“Everybody’s excited,” Golding shared on the Today Show this morning.
“I was with Nora, Awkwafina, who is a fellow New Yorker, the other night, and we were discussing it. We had Adele Lim come over and visit me and Gemma [Chan] in London not too long ago to discuss where we’re heading. We have a larger, longer-running format because we’re doing a series. We have so much runway to really share the world you kind of got a glimpse of in Crazy Rich. We’re really excited to show more,” he added.
Although Golding didn’t flat-out confirm he is officially on board, it sounds like many key players are keen to explore their characters and their stories further on the small screen.

Per Variety, ABC has renewed Grey's Anatomy for Season 22 during a massive renewal for some of its hit series, alongside 9-1-1, The Rookie, Will Trent, and Shifting Gears.
Grey's Anatomy follows the personal and professional lives of the interns, residents, and attendings at the fictional Seattle Grace Hospital, which was later renamed as Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital. The series is the longest-running scripted primetime show on ABC. For over 19 seasons, the series followed Ellen Pompeo's Meredith Grey as the central character, until she stepped down as a series regular and started making recurring appearances.

All doctors on Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital will remain on call for the next year. In a move that surprised no one, ABC decided to renew Grey's Anatomy for another season. The long-running medical series will extend until Season 22, which will air in the 2025-2026 season. The network has yet to announce if all regular cast members are returning for the new season, but showrunner Meg Marinis has hinted that former protagonist Ellen Pompeo (Good American Family) is expected to return for some episodes.
The renewal should come as no surprise — Grey's Anatomy keeps topping the charts to this day. Not only does the show remain among the most-watched titles on network television, but it is also a hit on streaming platforms. Just last year, the series was the most-streamed drama title across all streaming platforms. The series is still the go-to title for subscribers who feel like binge-watching a long TV series,...

ABC is renewing four dramas and one comedy series, Variety has learned.
The Disney-owned broadcaster has picked up new seasons of “9-1-1,” “Grey’s Anatomy,” “The Rookie,” and “Will Trent” as well as “Shifting Gears.” The renewals will bring “9-1-1” to Season 9, “Grey’s Anatomy” to Season 22, “The Rookie” to Season 8, “Shifting Gears” to Season 2, and “Will Trent” to Season 4.
ABC had previously announced renewals for both “High Potential” and the hit comedy “Abbott Elementary.” That means that the only current ABC show still awaiting word on a renewal is “Doctor Odyssey.” ABC has opted not to order any pilots this season, but did order the “9-1-1” spinoff “9-1-1: Nashville” straight-to-series, with Chris O’Donnell set for a lead role.
Of today’s renewals, only “Shifting Gears” was seen as a toss up for a new season. The Tim Allen-Kat Dennings multi-cam suffered a noticeable drop off in the ratings since its January debut.

Grey’s Anatomy creator Shonda Rhimes recently opened up about the potential conclusion of ABC’s longest-running medical drama. Even though she’s no longer the drama’s showrunner, Rhimes has continued to be an integral part of the series as an executive producer.
When asked about her possible plans for the ending of Grey’s Anatomy during a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly, Rhimes admitted that she stopped thinking about the show’s conclusion after Season 8. At the moment, she doesn’t have any idea about how the medical drama will end. "I have zero endings for Grey's now. I mean, literally zero. Until Season 8, I still had endings," she shared. Bailey and Ben carried the midseason premiere on their backs.
After a long hiatus, literal seasons have changed during this time; Grey’s Anatomy Season 21 Episode 9 delivered an underwhelming hour that did little to move the plot forward in any meaningful way.

Note: This story contains spoilers from “Grey’s Anatomy” Season 21, Episode 9.
“Grey’s Anatomy” returned with some big moments, a bonkers case and more than a few emotionally scarred doctors.
The midseason premiere, titled “Hit the Floor,” resolved many big cliffhangers for the doctors of Grey Sloan Memorial, who we had last seen dealing with a record-breaking heat wave in Seattle in the aftermath of Dr. Mika Yasuda’s heartbreaking exit.
Dr. Jules Millin (Adelaide Kane) was impacted the most by her fellow doctor’s departure from the hospital, as the pair had been exploring a blossoming romantic relationship up until Mika’s sister showed up asking for help with a cancer diagnosis — which resulted in her dying in a car accident and Mika leaving Seattle so she could heal from the grief away from where all fell apart.

When Grey’s Anatomy signed off the air in 2024 with its final episode before what has been a three-month break, ABC’s long-running medical drama ended with a major cliffhanger that left fans to wonder whether the show was about to lose yet another cast member.
In the season 21 fall finale, Lucas and Jo set out for what should have been a simple errand with the goal of getting some ice to assist patients back at the hospital amid a major heatwave. Unfortunately, fate had other plans for the duo as the pair ended up trapped in a gas station after a gunman barged in trying to score some cash.
The stress of the situation seemed to take a major toll on Jo who realized she was bleeding and began to fear for the life of her twins. Upon learning of Jo’s pregnancy, Lucas decided to take action and tried...

We're officially returning to the world of Crazy Rich Asians — just maybe not in the way we originally thought. While there is, allegedly, still a sequel film in the works to the 2018 blockbuster romantic comedy (as far as we know!), Max has confirmed that a series, from co-writer Adele Lim and director Jon M. Chu, is well underway at the streamer.
The news was reported by Variety, confirming rumors that began circulating back in 2024, after the 2022 reports of a sequel following Gemma Chan and Harry Shum Jr.'s characters failed to immediately materialize. This may be due in part to co-writer (alongside Peter Chiarelli) Adele Lim departing Jon M. Chu's intended adaptations of the subsequent Kevin Kwan novels, China Rich Girlfriend and Rich People Problems, because of a pay dispute that she described as racist and sexist. But now, with Lim back on board to show-run and executive produce this series alongside Chu as EP,...

After years of starts and stops and development, we may finally get a return to the world of “Crazy Rich Asians.”
A new series is in development from Warner Bros. Television for Max that will be based on Kevin Kwan’s book series and will bring back the 2018 film’s writer Adele Lim to serve as the series showrunner, as well as director Jon M. Chu to executive produce.
The series will be a one-hour drama and is only in development at this stage, so it’s unclear whether cast from the original film, which starred Constance Wu, Henry Golding, Michelle Yeoh, and Gemma Chan, will return.
Lim, who was a co-writer on “Crazy Rich Asians,” is now an EP, writer, and showrunner via her production company 100 Tigers, while Chu is an EP via Electric Somewhere. Kwan, the author of the three books in the “Asians” series, will also executive produce.

Glee was a 2009 show that followed a high school Glee club at McKinley High School, Ohio, experiencing various trials and tribulations from teen pregnancy to sexuality and identity. Led by former Glee member Will Schuester (Matthew Morrison), the group faced ostracization from their peers, the bullying of the cheerleading coach Sue Sylvester (Jane Lynch), and numerous slushies to the face.
Like many a TV show, the series' cast of alums has shrunk over the years - though with Glee, those numbers have shrunken surprisingly rapidly despite the relatively young age of its main cast. There’s a great deal of grief in re-watching the series, but also joy, as Glee alum Harry Shum Jr. noted on the Call It What It Is podcast (via Entertainment Weekly).

Astrid may be a supporting character in Crazy Rich Asians, but she has main character energy in the movie, and she deserves a spinoff Asap. One of the best romantic comedies in recent years, Crazy Rich Asians is a hilarious and bubbly movie that never slows down but still leaves ample room for a touching and deeply thought-out story about class, trust, and what it means to be "good enough" for someone. Grey's Anatomy has been going for almost two decades. The 21 seasons and nearly 450 episodes have introduced viewers to plenty of characters, but few have been as popular with fans as Dr. Derek Shepherd, who's been affectionately referred to as "McDreamy." Derek is a neurosurgeon who works at the same hospital as the main character, Meredith Grey, and even had a relationship and kids with her. Patrick Dempsey won over audiences' hearts as Derek Shepherd, and even received the honor of People Magazine's "Sexiest Man Alive" in 2023 after showing so much charisma in Grey's Anatomy.
The show controversially killed Derek Shepherd in episode 21 of season 11, titled "How to Save a Life." The episode is one of the lowest-rated episodes on IMDb, with a user rating of 5.6/10 with more than 3,000 reviews, mostly annoyed with how Derek was killed in the episode. However, McDreamy's death was a necessity, especially with situations in the background of the show's production.

Grey's Anatomy has seen many characters come and go during the course of its run, and among those who haven't been seen in a while is Martin Henderson's Dr. Nathan Riggs. Over seven years later, the actor has confirmed that he's open to the idea of returning as his fan-favorite character.
While speaking with Deadline to promote his series Virgin River, Henderson was asked about the possibility of returning to Grey's Anatomy. He teased that a return is possible, feeling that Grey's creator Shonda Rhimes would be supportive of a return of Dr. Riggs. It all comes down to scheduling, as Henderson is keeping pretty busy with his post-Grey's work.

After an ultra-successful opening weekend for Wicked, filmmaker Jon M. Chu is opening up about the long-awaited Crazy Rich Asians sequel, another of the director's immensely popular films. While Wicked: Part 2 is already on the calendar debuting November 21, 2025 a follow-up to the 2018 smash hit Crazy Rich Asians is, unfortunately, nowhere to be seen. That said, a sequel is certainly on Chu's mind.
In a chat with Deadline, Chu expressed his desire to revisit the Crazy Rich Asians universe if and only if they can do it right. The director is seemingly hesitant, as he ultimately desires to respect the original and wants to make sure it's worthwhile for the cast, crew, and audience, stating, "I won't bring everyone back unless it's worth it. There's too much on the line for everybody." Sure, this might not be exactly the response fans wanted to hear regarding a potential sequel, but it...

With Wicked conquering the Earth, the million-dollar question for filmmaker Jon M. Chu as he reaps the biggest box office opening of his career ($164.2M) is where, oh, where is the Crazy Rich Asians sequel?
The Warner Bros. movie broke glass ceilings not only on-screen for Asian and Asian American actors, but also at the box office with a $35.2M domestic opening, a $174.9M U.S./Canada take and close to $240M WW. A sequel was promptly announced by the studio following its opening in late summer 2018. The original trilogy of books are by Kevin Kwan with book 2 titled China Rich Girlfriend and the third, Rich People Problems. The movie blasted off the careers of Constance Wu, Henry Golding, Awkwafina, and Gemma Chan to name a few.
The last we reported, the Crazy Rich Asians sequel remained in development with a draft by Amy Wang. Word was that the sequel...

Spoiler Alert: The story includes details about Season 21 Episode 8, Drop It Like It’s Hot.
After Grey’s Anatomy bid farewell to Jake Borelli’s Levi Schmitt last week, it was Midori Francis’ turn to say goodbye to the show. Her exit was one of several major storylines in a jam-packed fall finale that left multiple lives in limbo.
Set more than six months after the events in the previous episode, the finale chronicles Mika’s (Francis) first day back after the van accident which left her fighting for her life, with her younger sister Chloe ultimately dying. Mika is not herself all day, evoking her late sister anywhere she goes, including the room Chloe died in and the morgue.
Mika then becomes hysterical when a male patient starts coding, screaming at Bailey (Chandra Wilson) “He’s dying”, “you can’t just let him die like that,” before abruptly switching to “you have to save her,...

Teen dramas are an enduring part of the television landscape and have the opportunity to blend genres into their plots for exciting results. When supernatural elements are incorporated in teen dramas, this makes for compelling TV that has elevated stakes and tension combined with the pangs of adolescence. Some of the best fantasy TV shows for beginners are combinations of magical storylines and high school mishaps, bringing something to the table for viewers of all ages, as coming-of-age stories never grow old, and neither do mystical creatures.
There's lots of overlap between mystical adolescent narratives and the best romance TV shows based on books since romance is a central part of any teen drama worth its salt. The world-building within novels translates well to television, especially when fantastical narratives and love stories take center stage. However, there's more to supernatural series than the magic systems or exciting worlds that audiences can escape into.

Spoiler Alert: The story includes details about Episode 2107 of ABC’s Grey’s Anatomy, “If You Leave”
As ABC’s Grey’s Anatomy is approaching its fall finale, so are the tenures of cast members Jake Borelli, who has played Levi Schmitt since 2017, and Midori Francis, in her third season as Mika Yasuda. Their exits could not be more contrasting, with Levi leaving Seattle to pursue his dream career in pediatrics while Mika got into a horrible car accident with her sister. Here is how Grey’s Anatomy wrote off Levi in “If You Leave” and geared Mika’s story for conclusion, expected in the next episode.
(You can read Borelli’s exit interview with Deadline about Levi’s final episode, his eight-season journey on Grey’s and what’s next here.)
And just like that, merely hours after Levi chose a peds research position in Texas over Bailey’s Webber general surgeon attending offer,...

“Grey’s Anatomy” added a storyline about voter responsibility into its latest episode, highlighting the importance of participating in democracy less than two weeks before the 2024 presidential election.
Episode 5 of the ABC medical drama, titled “You Make My Heart Explode,” saw as the latest class of interns debated the topic as they juggled a complicated case involving a hospital employee. Though the show is no stranger to addressing hot-button issues in its storylines, “Grey’s” pulled off the voting message for its viewers without going full PSA — and without getting into details about this year’s race.
The episode kicked off with the interns commiserating about long work hours, as they have all been filling in for Mika (Midori Francis) while she tends to her sick sister. As they made it tot he hospital entrance, they walked by voter registration drive and most of them said they were already registered to vote,...
