Actress and filmmaker Kelley Mack, who was best known for playing Addy in The Walking Dead, sadly passed away on August 2 in Cincinnati after a seven-month battle with a central-nervous-system glioma at the age of just 33. The news was shared in a post on her family’s CaringBridge page said she “passed peacefully, surrounded by love.”

The sad news was also shared on the actress’ Instagram account, with the full statement reading:

“It is with indelible sadness that we are announcing the passing of our dear Kelley. Such a bright, fervent light has transitioned to the beyond, where we all eventually must go. Kelley passed peacefully on Saturday evening with her loving mother Kristen and steadfast aunt Karen present. Kelley has already come to many of her loved ones in the form of various butterflies. She will be missed by so many to depths that words cannot express.

While fans knew her as Addy from AMC’s post-apocalyptic universe, those who followed Mack’s journey on Instagram saw a woman facing glioma, a rare brain tumor, with honesty, wit, and strength. “Legs are on fire,” she said in a video of herself attempting to walk down stairs with help from her boyfriend, Logan.

Kelley Mack, who recurred on The Walking Dead and had roles in several films, TV series and commercials, died August 2 of glioma in Cincinnati, her family said. She was 33.

Mack played Addy in five Season 9 episodes of AMC’s The Walking Dead in 2018-19. In that season’s finale, she and 10 other characters are abducted by the Whisperers, with deadly results. Her credits also include guest shots on TV series including 9-1-1, Chicago, The Goldbergs spinoff Schooled and multiple miniseries. She also appeared in such feature films as Broadcast Signal Intrusion opposite Harry Shum Jr, Mr. Manhattan and the upcoming Universal.

Born Kelley Lynne Klebenow on July 10, 1992, in Cincinnati, Mack began acting in commercials as a child. She earned an Acting Award from Tisch School of the Arts for her debut role as Chloe in The Elephant Garden (2008), a film that also won the Student Visionary Award at the Tribeca Film Festival.

Good news for fans of Grey’s Anatomy and the 9-1-1 universe as ABC is moving up the season premieres for the three drama series.

The Disney-owned network is moving up the return of Grey’s Anatomy and 9-1-1 as well as the launch of new series 9-1-1: Nashville by a week. The three shows were set to debut on Thursday, October 16, but instead will premiere on Thursday, October 9.

Ryan Murphy’s flagship 9-1-1 will air its ninth season at 8 p.m., new spinoff 9-1-1: Nashville airs at 9 p.m. and Grey’s Anatomy, the longest-running medical drama on television, will premiere Season 22 at 10 p.m.

No other changes to its schedule, which also includes breakout drama High Potential returning for its second season, the return of The Golden Bachelor and returning comedies Shifting Gears and Abbott Elementary.

Henry Golding shared an update on the upcoming Max and Warner Bros. Crazy Rich Asians TV series from Adele Lim, Jon M. Chu, and Kevin Kwan.

“Everybody’s excited,” Golding shared on the Today Show this morning.

“I was with Nora, Awkwafina, who is a fellow New Yorker, the other night, and we were discussing it. We had Adele Lim come over and visit me and Gemma [Chan] in London not too long ago to discuss where we’re heading. We have a larger, longer-running format because we’re doing a series. We have so much runway to really share the world you kind of got a glimpse of in Crazy Rich. We’re really excited to show more,” he added.

Although Golding didn’t flat-out confirm he is officially on board, it sounds like many key players are keen to explore their characters and their stories further on the small screen.

Grey's Anatomy is one of the longest-running shows on air, having premiered in 2005. However, it looks like the medical drama is not stopping anytime soon. Per Variety, ABC has renewed Grey's Anatomy for Season 22 during a massive renewal for some of its hit series, alongside 9-1-1, The Rookie, Will Trent, and Shifting Gears.

Grey's Anatomy follows the personal and professional lives of the interns, residents, and attendings at the fictional Seattle Grace Hospital, which was later renamed as Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital. The series is the longest-running scripted primetime show on ABC. For over 19 seasons, the series followed Ellen Pompeo's Meredith Grey as the central character, until she stepped down as a series regular and started making recurring appearances.

Grey's Anatomy has just celebrated its 20th anniversary this year.

All doctors on Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital will remain on call for the next year. In a move that surprised no one, ABC decided to renew Grey's Anatomy for another season. ABC is renewing four dramas and one comedy series, Variety has learned.

The Disney-owned broadcaster has picked up new seasons of “9-1-1,” “Grey’s Anatomy,” “The Rookie,” and “Will Trent” as well as “Shifting Gears.” The renewals will bring “9-1-1” to Season 9, “Grey’s Anatomy” to Season 22, “The Rookie” to Season 8, “Shifting Gears” to Season 2, and “Will Trent” to Season 4.

ABC had previously announced renewals for both “High Potential” and the hit comedy “Abbott Elementary.” That means that the only current ABC show still awaiting word on a renewal is “Doctor Odyssey.” ABC has opted not to order any pilots this season, but did order the “9-1-1” spinoff “9-1-1: Nashville” straight-to-series, with Chris O’Donnell set for a lead role.

Of today’s renewals, only “Shifting Gears” was seen as a toss up for a new season. The Tim Allen-Kat Dennings multi-cam suffered a noticeable drop off in the ratings since its January debut.

Grey’s Anatomy creator Shonda Rhimes recently opened up about the potential conclusion of ABC’s longest-running medical drama. Even though she’s no longer the drama’s showrunner, Rhimes has continued to be an integral part of the series as an executive producer.

When asked about her possible plans for the ending of Grey’s Anatomy during a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly, Rhimes admitted that she stopped thinking about the show’s conclusion after Season 8. At the moment, she doesn’t have any idea about how the medical drama will end. "I have zero endings for Grey's now. I mean, literally zero. Until Season 8, I still had endings," she shared. The news was reported by Variety, confirming rumors that began circulating back in 2024, after the 2022 reports of a sequel following Gemma Chan and Harry Shum Jr.'s characters failed to immediately materialize. This may be due in part to co-writer (alongside Peter Chiarelli) Adele Lim departing Jon M. Chu's intended adaptations of the subsequent Kevin Kwan novels, China Rich Girlfriend and Rich People Problems, because of a pay dispute that she described as racist and sexist. After years of starts and stops and development, we may finally get a return to the world of “Crazy Rich Asians.”

A new series is in development from Warner Bros. Television for Max that will be based on Kevin Kwan’s book series and will bring back the 2018 film’s writer Adele Lim to serve as the series showrunner, as well as director Jon M. Chu to executive produce.

The series will be a one-hour drama and is only in development at this stage, so it’s unclear whether cast from the original film, which starred Constance Wu, Henry Golding, Michelle Yeoh, and Gemma Chan, will return.

Lim, who was a co-writer on “Crazy Rich Asians,” is now an EP, writer, and showrunner via her production company 100 Tigers, while Chu is an EP via Electric Somewhere. Kwan, the author of the three books in the “Asians” series, will also executive produce.

Glee was a 2009 show that followed a high school Glee club at McKinley High School, Ohio, experiencing various trials and tribulations from teen pregnancy to sexuality and identity. Led by former Glee member Will Schuester (Matthew Morrison), the group faced ostracization from their peers, the bullying of the cheerleading coach Sue Sylvester (Jane Lynch), and numerous slushies to the face.

Like many a TV show, the series' cast of alums has shrunk over the years - though with Glee, those numbers have shrunken surprisingly rapidly despite the relatively young age of its main cast. There’s a great deal of grief in re-watching the series, but also joy, as Glee alum Harry Shum Jr. noted on the Call It What It Is podcast (via Entertainment Weekly).

Even though long-running comedy/musical series Glee left its mark in the world of television, going back and re-visiting it is not the easiest experience. Out of the extensive main cast, one actor died while the show was still running and two other cast members died after the series ended. During a participation in the Call It What It Is podcast, Glee alum Harry Shum Jr. (Everything Everywhere All At Once) talked about re-watching the series and how he feels about it.

Beginning Tuesday morning, several TV productions were hatled in an effort to keep people safe and out of impacted areas. It’s unclear how long the pauses in production will last at the moment, and whether they will impact release schedules.

Grey's Anatomy has been going for almost two decades. The 21 seasons and nearly 450 episodes have introduced viewers to plenty of characters, but few have been as popular with fans as Dr. Derek Shepherd, who's been affectionately referred to as "McDreamy." Derek is a neurosurgeon who works at the same hospital as the main character, Meredith Grey, and even had a relationship and kids with her. After an ultra-successful opening weekend for Wicked, filmmaker Jon M. Chu is opening up about the long-awaited Crazy Rich Asians sequel, another of the director's immensely popular films. While Wicked: Part 2 is already on the calendar debuting November 21, 2025 a follow-up to the 2018 smash hit Crazy Rich Asians is, unfortunately, nowhere to be seen. That said, a sequel is certainly on Chu's mind.

In a chat with Deadline, Chu expressed his desire to revisit the Crazy Rich Asians universe if and only if they can do it right. Shonda Rhimes will join Debbie Allen alongside other castmembers from Grey’s Anatomy and Private Practice in a Get Out the Vote trivia event Sunday, presented in partnership with MoveOn political advocacy group.

The livestreamed competition will be free to the public, though organizers ask that attendees remind three of their loved ones to vote before joining.
