'Downton Abbey' Recap: A Dangerous Day at the Races Leads to Heartbreak
Elizabeth McGovern, Maggie Smith, Hugh Bonneville, Brendan Coyle, Joanne Froggatt, Penelope Wilton, Allen Leech, Michelle Dockery, Laura Carmichael, Lily James, Fifi Hart, and Oliver Barker in Downton Abbey (2010)
In this episode of Downton Abbey, things go horribly awry at Henry's race, Mary breaks her own heart, Edith gets a big proposal and Violet decides to sail away from the family in order to cool down.

The final season of Downton Abbey is finally starting to gain some momentum, even if some of that momentum is gained thanks to a fiery car crash. (At least the show has upped the car crash budget since Matthew's underwhelming death scene?) It feels like many of the plotlines are moving ahead at full speed, so let's hope they don't careen off into a fireball like poor Charlie Rogers. This season of Downton is really upping the ante on blood and guts, isn't it?...

Downton Abbey episode 7: Twitter reacts to fast cars and a very dramatic death
There are only two episodes left of Downton Abbey and the action certainly isn't slowing down.

In Sunday night's (November 1) episode there were fast cars, a dramatic death and Twitter reactions aplenty where mainly everyone really wanted to give one character a really big hug.

Everyone's hearts were breaking for Thomas:

Thomas is actually breaking my heart right now. I just want to wrap him up in the biggest hug. #DowntonAbbey

If Thomas doesn't get something good in his life I will be forced to climb into the TV and I'll start punching people for him #DowntonAbbey

— Molly Burns (@TheMollyBurns) November 1, 2015

I genuinely don't think I need a happier ending for anyone other than Thomas now tbh #DowntonAbbey

— Ryan Love (@RyanJL) November 1, 2015

The way Thomas is treated on #DowntonAbbey is breaking my heart! @DowntonThomas #DowntonNight #Downton

— John Sinopoli (@TheJohnSinopoli) November 1, 2015

I'm terrified that Thomas is going to do something to himself.
