Joshwin Dyson

Joshwin Dyson, a young up and coming actor, was born in the heart of Rocklands, Mitchell's Plain. His discovery of acting developed at high school where he did drama as a subject. For 5 years he developed a passion for the arts, where in his final year of high school he landed his first television character on the famous telenovela, Arendsvlei. In the same year (2019), he won the Kyknet National Acting Competition, and it was here he decided he wanted to make a career in acting. In 2022, he landed his first film role in Old Righteous Blues (South Africa's official entry for the 97th Academy Awards), for which he won Best Supporting Actor at the Silwerskermfees in 2023. The year 2024 was, for Joshwin, a year for theatre, but he did land a role in the Showmax series, Spooksoeker. His theatre experience grew when he got involved in a theatre production, Laaitie Mettie Biscuits, where he played a person with Down's Syndrome, written and directed by Christo Davids. Joshwin looks to continue working in the industry and his passion for acting is still growing even more.
